We got a version 2.2.0 approved by Apple and “Pending developer release”. But we had to bring in more changes and in order to keep with same version number, I canceled that release from appstore connect.  Now in appstoreconnect, it shows "Developer rejected".

But after trying to generating new with same version number gives this error - The value for key CFBundleShortVersionString [2.2.0] in the Info.plist file must contain a higher version than that of the previously approved version [2.2.0]

How should I fix this?

There are two separate parts to this:

In Xcode > TARGETS > General > Identity:

  • Leave the "Version" number as it is
  • Increase the "Build" number
