Unable to enroll into the Apple Developer Program

Hello! Every time I attempt to enroll into the program I get hit with one of the following two errors:

Unknown Error Please try again.

Apple ID Issue The region of the Apple ID that's signed in to Settings or System Preferences is different than the region of the Apple ID with which you signed into the Apple Developer app. Sign in to Settings or System Preferences with an Apple ID that has the same region.

I’m very confused by this message because I have never changed the region of my Apple ID - it should be United States.

How can I complete my enrollment?

SOLUTION: I tried multiple times on chrome to sign up via the blue Enroll today button at https://developer.apple.com/account Which just refreshed the page and did nothing.

Solved entirely by just using microsoft edge instead of chrome.

The problem I was saying was that my payment was declined as unauthorised every time I tried to pay for development enrolment. I tried several cards, all of which continued to work fine for all other shops and websites but would not be accepted by Apple Developer either in the app or on the website.

The solution was that I needed to first go to account.apple.com, sign in with the Apple account used for my development work, and add a payment method and shipping delivery address to my account profile. Then, I was able to return to the Apple developer enrolment workflow, select my saved payment method and complete the transaction.
