For example if I made an app that gives calorie sums of menus of the McDonalds how can i both avoid copyright infringement and give user info about the app?I'm guessing I can't write McDonalds on title at all but can it be written on short description?

Citing directly a company name exposes you to future problems.
The best would be to be generic:
- what is the calorie count of a hamburger (you can have a lot of varieties of them - simple, double, triple -, but don't use a product name from a company)
- how much for such a soft drink, depending on size and type (0 sugar…) possibly reading the QRCode to get the exact value from your own database…
At the end, user would rapidly describe its menu, possibly save in its user defaults and get the computation.
