"Ready to submit" and no way to Submit

Hi

I am trying to distribute my App to external testers through TestFlight. The status is "Ready to Submit" and I do not find any way to actually submit it.

The "iTunes Connect Users" is at the "Testing" state but the "External Testers" is at the "Ready to submit" state.

Will highly appreciate your help

Thanks for the update!

Thanks for that - Friday night.

It's an absolute disaster.

And even worse, it looks like after they fix it, it goes in to review again.

UPDATE: My builds have been changed to "Waiting for Review" finally! I would check yours to see if it works yet.

my build has moved to “waiting for review” as well (TestFlight review). But this is the 5th build that we have submitted to TestFlight (for the same version of the app) and all the ones before it (except the first one) got automatically approved for external testing immediatly. We only had to wait a day for the first build of the TestFlight to be approved. Now, it’s been a day and it is still waiting for TestFlight review.

16 Jan and I'm having the same issue

Yes, I'm still waiting for review over 3 days. I hate the testflight, why the test version should be manually reviewed?

I have a suggestion if the apple guys see this post: please add a fast review option for small-range test, for example to limit the test users under 10 people. So we can start the test as soon as we want.

Same here until the link for approve the new changes to the agreement worked. Once I approved, the situation changed and I was allowed to submit the app to external testers.

Waiting for 5 days now still waiting for review

Does this mean that you were able to get past the Waiting for Review status? I'm still stuck there (for about 5 days) and I've tried resubmitting. My main app submission (to the App Store) got approved in about 24 hours, while my TestFlight submission is still stuck waiting for review... Anyone call Apple Support about this issue? I think they have some cleanup still required from the outage...

My app JUST got approved (after a few days of being stuck in Waiting for Review) via TestFlight. Hopefully this means that the backlog is now clearing and we're able to use TestFlight as normal again.

Probably Apple is updating something. Looks like we all see the same.

I undrestood that now only 1 build can be in "Waiting for Review" status on the Testflight.

I have few groups on the Testflight, and build approved for 1 group I cannot add to the second group. Could be that it's impossible to add any build to the second group.

Did anyone find a resolution to this? When I go into my Test Flight build it gives me a "Ready to Submit" but no option to actually submit. Help is greatly appreciated!

Here's how I do it: click the build number, add an external tester*, save. I don't know if it is "the" way to do it, but it has been working for me. Just poor UX design as far as I can tell.

*Use a dummy account to make yourself an external tester if you don't want to involve real externals yet.

My problem was similar, stuck on the ready to submit step. I had a successful build in the appsote, I just need to update its version to newer one. I added a detailed answer here https://stackoverflow.com/a/57160753/557396

When you open the Build information from within TestFlight, from the left side options select the external testers. Add the testers, add the description and select then you will see the option to Submit for Review

I did bump CFBundleShortVersionString and it worked

Tap "App Review" and click Submit for Review.

This still appears to be a problem.

What worked for me was to go to the TestFlight tab, and click on the build number. Then, when I manually added an individual tester, I got the link to Submit for Review of the beta in TestFlight.

I had to add the individual tester even though that same tester had already been added as a member of a testing group.

So, I guess we just need to "poke" app store connect to get it to look at the build and allow us to submit for beta review.
