TestFlight builds expired across multiple apps; new builds cannot be installed (“Requested app is not available or doesn’t exist”)

Hi,

I’m experiencing a TestFlight issue affecting multiple apps in my account.

Issue summary:

• Several TestFlight builds across all of my apps expired at the same time.

• After uploading new replacement builds, neither I nor my testers are able to install them.

• Installation fails with the message: “Could not install {App Name}. The requested app is not available or doesn’t exist.”

• The build shows as processed and available in App Store Connect.

• Testers are already invited and active.

• No redeem code is required.

I am seeing the same issue on my own device as well.

What I’ve tried:

• Uploading new builds (incremented version + build number).

• Confirmed builds are visible and available in App Store Connect.

• Removing and re-adding testers.

• Logging out of the app.

• Deleting the app from the device.

• Restarting the device.

• Reinstalling directly from TestFlight.

• Restarting TestFlight.

Despite this, installation consistently fails with the “requested app is not available or doesn’t exist” error.

Expected behavior:

• New TestFlight builds should be installable once processed and available.

• Testers (and the developer) should be able to install directly from TestFlight.

• Expired builds should not block installation of newly uploaded builds.

Additional context:

• This started immediately after multiple TestFlight builds expired across my apps.

• All affected apps were previously installing and testing without issue.

• Apple Developer Support has been contacted, but I wanted to check whether others are seeing the same behavior or if there is a known workaround.

Has anyone else encountered TestFlight builds becoming unavailable across multiple apps at once, or an install failure after replacing expired builds

Same issue, with device-side evidence. Team ID UJ83XWKNFQ, Feedback FB24471051.

Same sequence: builds across multiple apps expired far earlier than 90 days, and every build uploaded since fails to install.

My error string differs slightly — Console shows failureReason: Error Downloading Install Data, terminalReason: 1, fullError: (null) — but it may be the same underlying failure.

A sysdiagnose taken immediately after a failed install shows MobileInstallation is never invoked: no entries for my bundle ID anywhere in mobile_installation.log, while App Store installs of other apps on the same device succeed minutes earlier. The payload never reaches the device.

Reproduced on two devices, two Apple IDs, Wi-Fi and cellular, fresh builds across multiple apps. Certificate valid and freshly installed, membership active, availability all regions.

@DTS Engineer Here is my Feedback report for the same issue as well: FB24450198. I have also updated the report with the affected App IDs for both Sykkylv1 and Bølge. Thank you.

@DTS Engineer this is a new issue for a different app - FB24489716

@DTS Engineer still no evolution on the FB ticket, unfortunately. Is there any idea when they will be looking at this? searching online gives the idea this happens from time to time to devs and only apple can fix it.

Same issue here. Team ID: 9PJ9T53NSV.

I tested with TWO completely different apps:

  • RouteCast (Flutter, Apple ID 6802804674) — builds 6, 7, 8, 10
  • ErkanTestApp2026 (native Swift Hello World, Apple ID 6804722287) — build 1

Both fail with "The requested app is not available or doesn't exist." Multiple devices tested (iPhone 13 iOS 26.6 + friends' devices, no MDM).

Apple Support Case: 20000141592306. No response yet.

This confirms it's an Apple backend issue, not app/framework-specific.

Yet another example, a new app for internal testing in TestFlight.

  • Apple support case: 20000145993640
  • Apple ID: 6800493267

Works perfectly fine when installed via Xcode.

@kricke

Thanks for the post, any chance you filed a bug and you have an FB number?

I actually tried to upload yet another app today ready for internal testing. The exact same issue occured. These are the only two apps I have in Testflight, can it be something related to my account? Thanks for looking into it!

@kricke Thanks for the FB number. I'm not in the TestFlight team so I do not know if is related to the account. But your bug filed is being routed to that team so they can answer to you privately using the Feedback Assistant.

Thank you so much Albert, really appreciate your quick response here. I will keep on eye out for any status changes in the Feedback Assistent. Have a nice day!

@DTS Engineer Getting the same issue as well FB24514246 Both my apps TestFlight builds getting Expired way before the 90 days. Started noticing it yesterday.

Im on the same bandwagon here, apps expired after 7 days and when i made a new verison, users cant install on TestFlight for UAT. Sounds like its a much bigger issue ont eh server side going on.

Hey,

I've got the same issue. I uploaded my new app on Testflight and then all my builds from my other 2 apps expired.

I've uploaded a new version for my expired app and also the new app, once I try to install it I get an error for both apps.

Could not install {{app_ name}}. The requested app is not available or doesn't exist.

App: Prizely, Apple ID 6761530931. Builds 2.1.0 (10) show Processed / Ready to Submit in App Store Connect, but every install from TestFlight fails with "Could not install Prizely. The requested app is not available or doesn't exist." It fails for the account holder and for all internal and external testers; internal testers do not see the app in TestFlight at all. New builds, new testers, new groups, deleting the app and reinstalling TestFlight made no difference. Pricing and Availability and all agreements are in order. TestFlight worked normally in April 2026 before that.

@DTS Engineer
same issue from my developer account , i submitted new feedback with organization account as well, and this is the feedback number : FB24633426. , its really serious issue, i appreciate your help with this

I am having the same issue:

All builds suddenly expired. Newly uploaded builds don't work either.

In testflight I always get the error:

Could not install ... The requested app is not available or doesn't exist.

I have created a Apple Developer support ticket (20000140511690), which took about 2 week to escalate to senior, then to engineering team. With the answer:

"Please allow them 48 hours to resolve the issue, and then upload a new build to continue testing."

Well, after those 48h and uploading multiple new builds, nothing has changed. The issue still persists.

Affected apps:

  • Apple ID 6760765327
  • Apple ID 6798688057

This is really frustrating as I have to send all thes informatio. so meaning it we at 1000000 people because it 3 September and clearly this issue isn’t solved ye, because I’m getting this

@DTS Engineer Please see my message above. I have also created FB24699368 It would be great if you could help! Thanks!

@marcluer Thanks, routing to TestFlight team.

Still broken as of 12 Sep 2026, and it now affects two apps on my team.

Builds show VALID / IN_BETA_TESTING in App Store Connect and are assigned to an internal group, but installing fails with "The requested app is not available or doesn't exist". The install request returns 404 with failureReason "Error Downloading Install Data" and percentComplete 0 — nothing downloads. Same on iPhone (iOS 27.0) and on an Apple silicon Mac.

One detail that may help narrow it down: on 22 Aug I removed one app record, and at that exact second (2026-08-22 06:19:18 UTC-7) eleven builds expired — all eight builds of the app I removed, and all three builds of a different app that I did not remove, which happened to share the same version and build numbers. Every build uploaded since then fails to install. Restoring the removed app did not help, and a fresh build uploaded to the restored app also fails.

Nothing developer-side has changed the outcome: new builds, a new version string, new internal groups with both automatic and manual distribution, re-adding testers, and deleting a duplicate betaTester record (DELETE returns 204 and the record comes back with the same id).

Ive tried creating a completely new app and still cant install app.

@rdevine thanks I’ll route it to the TestFlight team.

Same pattern here, and I have an API error code that may help narrow it down.

FB24762002

All TestFlight builds of all three apps in my account expired at the same second (2026-09-12T14:21:21-07:00, one app at ...:22), without any action on my side. buildBetaDetail reports internalBuildState = EXPIRED and externalBuildState = EXPIRED for every one of them.

A freshly uploaded build processes fine (VALID, expired = false, normal 90-day expiration) and can be added to an external group, but submitting it for beta review is rejected:

POST /v1/betaAppReviewSubmissions HTTP 422 ENTITY_UNPROCESSABLE.BETA_CONTRACT_MISSING "Beta contract is missing for the app."

Retried every 60 seconds for 12 minutes and again over several hours, always the same. Meanwhile App Store Connect shows the Free Apps agreement as ACTIVE (2026-08-31 to 2027-07-19), DSA compliance active, certificates and provisioning profiles valid into 2027, and beta review for the previous builds APPROVED.

So the account has a valid agreement in the UI while the beta submission path says the contract is missing. The public TestFlight link returns "Not Found" because no valid build can get behind it.

TestFlight builds expired across multiple apps; new builds cannot be installed (“Requested app is not available or doesn’t exist”)
