App Store Connect screenshot upload stuck on “processing” with no delete option

Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with App Store Connect → App Store → iOS App Version → App Previews and Screenshots.

I'm preparing my first iOS app submission and have uploaded screenshots for the iPhone 6.5" Display.

I uploaded multiple screenshots successfully. Currently, 7 screenshots are uploaded successfully, but one additional screenshot became stuck in a processing state.

The affected screenshot appears as a pink/white placeholder with a loading spinner and has remained in this state for more than 10–15 minutes.

The problem is that I cannot remove the stuck screenshot.

What I see

The screenshot section shows approximately:

  • iPhone 6.5" Display
  • 7 of 10 Screenshots
  • The problematic screenshot shows a loading/processing spinner
  • There is no Delete (–) button
  • Hovering over the screenshot does not show a delete option
  • Delete All is also unavailable/greyed out while the screenshot is processing

What I have already tried

I have tried the following:

  1. Waited more than 10–15 minutes for processing to complete.
  2. Refreshed the App Store Connect page using Safari.
  3. Signed out of App Store Connect.
  4. Signed back in.
  5. Opened Media Manager / View All Sizes.
  6. Checked the iPhone 6.5" screenshot section in Media Manager.
  7. Tried hovering over the stuck screenshot to find the Delete (–) button.

Unfortunately, the screenshot is still stuck and there is no delete option.

Important detail

The other screenshots are already uploaded successfully, so I don't want to use Delete All, as I don't want to remove the screenshots that are working correctly.

The app version is still in:

Prepare for Submission

so the version should still be editable.

Questions

Has anyone experienced an App Store Connect screenshot getting permanently stuck in the processing/loading state?

If so:

  1. Is there a way to force-remove the stuck screenshot?
  2. Is there a way to reset the screenshot/media processing state?
  3. Can Apple Support remove the stuck asset from the App Store Connect backend?
  4. Is there another Media Manager workflow that allows deleting an asset while it is still processing?
  5. Is there a recommended way to replace the stuck asset without deleting the other valid screenshots?

I'm using Safari on macOS, and the issue persists even after signing out and signing back in.

Any help or workaround would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi there, I'm encountering the same issue.

Ten screenshot uploads for iPhone 6.5-inch are stuck on iOS 1.0 (Prepare for Submission), English (U.S.). They appear as pink placeholders. Delete All is disabled on both the version page and in Media Manager. There is no delete button on hover. I can only drag them. This has lasted more than a day. I tried the website, another browser, and the App Store Connect app. No build has been selected on this version.

Apple Developer Support has escalated this to engineering. Has anyone cleared the same stuck uploads without waiting, for example by deleting them with the App Store Connect API or by creating a new app record?

Did you find a solution to this problem ? I'm also stuck in this issue while trying to upload my mac app.

I have the same problem. Has anyone found a solution, or does anyone know when Apple plans to fix it?

Hi there, thank you for reporting this issue. We are of this and we are investigating. Please follow this thread for updates.

I also encountered the same problem and it's a blocking the app review.

+1. I encountered the same problem and it has blocked my app review two days.

I have the same problem

I have the same problem

I am also having this problem.

Hello Apple Support Specialist,

It's been almost a week since the bug that prevents submitting apps for review was reported. Is there any estimated timeline for when it will be fixed?

Same issue here on macOS. Version 3.2.0 (English U.S.), 10 Mac screenshots stuck in processing since yesterday evening. The placeholders never finish, Delete All is disabled, and Add for Review says "There are still screenshot uploads in progress."

Tried: hard reload many times, sign out and back in, Safari and Chrome, Media Manager. Nothing clears them.

The files are 2880x1800, sRGB, 8-bit, no alpha. I have also opened a support request. Is there a way to reset the stuck uploads on your side?

Still waiting :(

Same problem for me, replaced couple of screenshots and one of them got stuck in this pink loading state, then review is blocked

stille the same error :/

Having the same issue since 24 hours ago its frustrating cause your locked and cant do anything i need to delete the broken screenshots and not able. Any one tried to fix this?

Ok so my friend found a work-around solution last night that was beyond my personal technical ability and yes, you guessed it, it involved AI. Chat GPT was fully aware of the situation when I explained and we managed to get the screenshots deleted by using the apple Connect API. It worked behind the scenes and found the semi-uploaded photos and managed to delete them. Now as we all know, we have to be extremely careful using AI especially giving them API keys so use this responsibly.

I was able to fix this with App Store API Key: A python script created is needed im not able to upload it here though. You can find it under my GitHub repos: https://github.com/moh1122/AppStore-Connect-ScreenShot-Reset

  1. Create your API key

In App Store Connect:

  1. Open Users and Access → Integrations → App Store Connect API.
  2. If you see Request Access, complete that first using your Account Holder account.
  3. Select Team Keys → Generate API Key.
  4. Name it Screenshot Reset and select App Manager access.
  5. Generate it and download the .p8 file.
  6. Keep the Key ID and Issuer ID shown on that page. Apple Developer Documentation

Keep the .p8 file on your Mac; don’t upload it here. The script below uses it locally. 2. Download and run the inspection script I prepared asc_screenshot_reset.py. Save it in Downloads, then run these commands in Terminal:

python3 -m venv ~/asc-reset-env
~/asc-reset-env/bin/python -m pip install 'PyJWT[crypto]'
~/asc-reset-env/bin/python ~/Downloads/asc_screenshot_reset.py

It will ask for:

  • The full path to your downloaded .p8 file.
  • Your Key ID and Issuer ID.
  • App’s numeric Apple ID, found under App Information.
  • Version and language—press Enter to accept the version and en-US.

This first run only lists the screenshots and their processing states. 3. Delete and reupload Once the listing shows the correct app and version, run:

~/asc-reset-env/bin/python ~/Downloads/asc_screenshot_reset.py --delete

Choose the affected screenshot set’s number, or enter all to remove every screenshot set for the version, English (U.S.), including any iPad sets listed. It shows the selection and asks you to type a confirmation before deleting. Have your original images ready: the script saves a metadata report, not a backup of the images. After successful deletion, refresh App Store Connect and upload one screenshot first to check whether processing completes.

I finally solved this issue using the App Store Connect API with the help of ChatGPT. It created a Python script that deleted the stuck screenshot. I ran it, and voila — the issue was gone. Then I asked it to create a universal script that anyone can use, along with instructions. Here it is. However I can't attach it here because of restrictions for .md and .py extensions. I attached both files with .txt extension, change the extension for asc_stuck_screenshot to .py and readme to .md. Please read the instruction first.

Yes, I’m also facing the same issue

I vibe-coded a solution that helped me delete stuck screenshots in App Store Connect and finally submit the app for review 😄

https://github.com/smmaxim1987/asc-screenshot-fixer

It’s a local web server that uses the official App Store Connect API to find stuck screenshots and delete them, even when they can no longer be removed through the regular ASC interface.

To run it, you need Node.js, npm, and an App Store Connect API Key: Issuer ID, Key ID, and the .p8 file.

npm install

npm run dev

Then open http://127.0.0.1:8787, enter your API key details, scan the screenshots, and delete the stuck ones.

worked Thanks guys :)

Thanks a lot. mmasri's solution worked for me well.

Hi all, Thank you for your patience while we worked to resolve this. The issue has now been fixed, and you should be able to upload and delete your screenshots as needed. If you are still experiencing any issues, please file a new ticket or update your existing Feedback Assistant ticket with a screen recording and HAR logs so we can take a closer look. Thanks again,
