Approved updates "Ready for Distribution" for 6 days, App Store still serves old version

Our app's last three updates were approved and show "Ready for Distribution" in App Store Connect, but the public App Store still serves the version from Oct 5.

App: Aldo Coach: AI Workout Plan (Apple ID 6802822375)

Live on the store: 1.4.1 (released Oct 5)

Approved but not showing:

  • 1.5 (build 1039), approved Oct 8, released manually
  • 1.6 (build 1060), approved Oct 10, released manually
  • 1.6.1 (build 1065), approved Oct 11, set to release automatically after approval

What I've checked:

  • All three show Ready for Distribution in App Store Connect.
  • The iTunes lookup API and apps.apple.com both still show 1.4.1, in every country we're available in (US, Canada, UK, EU).
  • Builds are valid and not expired. All territories show Available. No phased release. Agreements are active.
  • I updated the promotional text on 1.6.1 to trigger a refresh. No change.

I have two support cases open (102992551230 and 102994478457) with only the automatic replies so far, and phone support shows as unavailable.

Has anyone seen this recently? If someone at Apple could check whether the store needs a refresh on their side, I'd be grateful. Thank you.

I have the same issue on my apps for over three days.

Same here. It started around the same time.

New app approved and set to "Ready for Distribution", but not on the App Store at all.

All agreements, tax and banking are Active. No pre-orders, no future release dates, and all territories show Available.

Two support cases are open (102996037194 and 102997549231), with only automatic replies so far. Phone support isn't available to me either.

It looks like something on the distribution side is stuck for several developers. Could someone at Apple take a look? Thank you.

Same here.

It’s been 36 hours since my latest version was approved..

Someone else mentioned this issue as well: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/851080

Update: fixed. The store now shows 1.6.2 (released Oct 14). It switched within about an hour of removing all Creative Assets (header + search result asset, on the default and custom product pages). The header first went live Oct 7, the same time new versions stopped reaching the store. Apple support also escalated on Oct 13, so the cause isn't confirmed. If you're stuck on an old version with Creative Assets live, try removing them.

Same issue going on 6 days now.

My situation is a little different, but I'm also experiencing inconsistent statuses. It has now been over 48 hours since I submitted the update. The review submission reports IN_REVIEW, while App Store Connect still displays Waiting for Review. I also cannot cancel the submission, so I feel stuck. It's frustrating not knowing whether the review is actually progressing or how to resolve this.

Update: fixed on my side too. The cause was Creative Assets (header / search result videos) that were still processing. In App Store Connect, the header showed a cloud icon instead of the video. Once I removed only the placements whose video was still processing, the app became available on the store about 1.5 hours later. The fully processed assets stayed.

If you're stuck on "Ready for Distribution", check the Header and Search Results tabs on each localization of the version. Any asset that never finished processing seems to block the release.

Found that my new header asset was still "in processing". Once I removed it the App Store updated to the new version in less than 30 minutes.
