In the app I'm working on, I have a SwiftUI View embedded in a UIKit Storyboard. The SwiftUI View holds a menu with a list of payment tools, and the ForEach loop looks like this:
ForEach(self.paymentToolsVM.paymentToolsItems, id: \.self) { paymentTool in
Button {
navigationCallback(paymentTool.segueID)
} label: {
PaymentToolsRow(paymentToolName: paymentTool.title, imageName: paymentTool.imageName)
.accessibilityElement()
.accessibilityIdentifier("Billing_\(paymentTool.title.replacingOccurrences(of: " ", with: ""))")
}
if paymentTool != self.paymentToolsVM.paymentToolsItems.last {
Divider()
}
}
So you can see the accessibility ID is there, and it shows up properly when I open up Accessibility Inspector with the simulator, but the testing script isn't picking up on it, and it doesn't show up when the view is inspected in Appium. I have other SwiftUI views embedded in the UIKit view, and the script picks up the buttons on those, so I'm not sure what's different about this one.
If it helps, the script is written in Java with the BDD framework. I can try to get the relevant part of the script if anyone thinks that would be helpful. Otherwise, is there anything else I can try?

Hello,
I am working on a Braille keyboard by using HID approach.
Current the device works with iPhone 11 and SE3.
However, when tested in iPhone 6s with iOS 15, although the device can be connected and recognized as Braille device in VoiceOver screen, the phone shows no response to key press report.
Would there be any requirement at points such as HID descriptor for iPhone 6s support on Braille device? If iPhone 6s does not support such devices, what is the minimum system requirements?
Thank you!
I updated with 18.3 beta, but lost video and audio option with that update, I tried to restore with itune in windows 11, got struck between. Forcefully turned off ipad, after two tries got off.... Off like blinked out screen... Not tried all tricks to on, can't on....please tell a solution. Used all your advices in internet. It was 90% charged, working superbly. So far no risk... Please help me. No charging icon, no sign of life. How can On?

I want to open a developer account, but it is not personal, but rather a company, and I have an existing company, and I have DUNS, and I have a website that has been made, and everything is ready, and an official email, but when the application is made at Apple, he sends to my email that he wants a public website for people, and it will be in the name of the organization, and all of these matters have been resolved. Why do they not respond to us?

Added a view controller in the storyboard, added a tableview in this view, and added a cell under the table, when I run the APP to jump to the page, when using the narration function, I find that when I use three fingers to swipe up or down, a sentence will be broadcast in English, I want to no longer change the accessiblity of the cell, when I perform the behavior of swiping up or down with three fingers, Broadcast how Chinese should be implemented.
I learned that I need to create an iTunes Connect account to publish my book translations on Apple Books, following the instructions on the Apple Support page. I was then directed to the iTunes Connect website. Despite trying multiple Apple accounts with different credit cards on my Mac, iPad, and iPhone, I kept getting the error “This Apple Account does not have a valid credit card on file.” In the end, I began to wonder if iTunes Connect is unavailable in Turkey. What do I need to do to publish content on Apple Books from Turkey? Do I need to obtain a developer account, or is this service not available in Turkey?
The Apple customer service representative I contacted in Turkey said they didn’t have information on the matter and directed me here.

When iOS screen reader reads the month "July" in its shorter version "Jul" its not reading it correctly as month, where as all other months name it reading it correctly in shorter version, so as a result all dates comes under that month when we display in front end and use a screen reader to read it then it will read out as number not date.
I have tried the longer version with the screen reader and then its reads correctly July as well.

Request: Name Recognition → Shortcut for SOS Flashlight + Vibration
Right now, iOS Name Recognition works, but all I can do is flash the tiny notification light. It would be much more useful if Name Recognition could trigger a Shortcut. That way, I could set it to flash the flashlight in an SOS pattern and vibrate, making the alert impossible to miss.
I tried using Custom Alarm, but it won’t let me record my spoken name, so it doesn’t really solve the problem. If Apple allowed Name Recognition to trigger Shortcuts — or expanded “Custom” to support names/words — this would open up far more practical, real-world alerts.

I pick photos using connected physical keyboard from the user's photo library using:
.photosPicker(isPresented: $viewModel.isImagePickerPresented, selection: $viewModel.selectedImageItem, matching: .images)
When picker appears, accessibility focus is moved to "dynamic Island" instead of cancel button. There is no possibility to navigate by keyboard in photos picker view without tapping on this view and move focus to this view manually . I noticed the same behavior in Notes app.
I’m trying to customize the keyboard focus appearance in SwiftUI.
In UIKit (see WWDC 2021 session Focus on iPad keyboard navigation), it’s possible to remove the default UIFocusHaloEffect and change a view’s appearance depending on whether it has focus or not.
In SwiftUI I’ve tried the following:
.focusable() // .focusable(true, interactions: .activate)
.focusEffectDisabled()
.focused($isFocused)
However, I’m running into several issues:
.focusable(true, interactions: .activate) causes an infinite loop, so keyboard navigation stops responding
.focusEffectDisabled() doesn’t seem to remove the default focus effect on iOS
Using @FocusState prevents Space from triggering the action when the view has keyboard focus
My main questions:
How can I reliably detect whether a SwiftUI view has keyboard focus? (Is there an alternative to FocusState that integrates better with keyboard navigation on iOS?)
What’s the recommended way in SwiftUI to disable the default focus effect (the blue overlay) and replace it with a custom border?
Any guidance or best practices would be greatly appreciated!
Here's my sample code:
import SwiftUI
struct KeyboardFocusExample: View {
var body: some View {
// The ScrollView is required, otherwise the custom focus value resets to false after a few seconds. I also need it for my actual use case
ScrollView {
VStack {
Text("First button")
.keyboardFocus()
.button {
print("First button tapped")
}
Text("Second button")
.keyboardFocus()
.button {
print("Second button tapped")
}
}
}
}
}
// MARK: - Focus Modifier
struct KeyboardFocusModifier: ViewModifier {
@FocusState private var isFocused: Bool
func body(content: Content) -> some View {
content
.focusable() // ⚠️ Must come before .focused(), otherwise the FocusState won’t be recognized
// .focusable(true, interactions: .activate) // ⚠️ This causes an infinite loop, so keyboard navigation no longer responds
.focusEffectDisabled() // ⚠️ Has no effect on iOS
.focused($isFocused)
// Custom Halo effect
.padding(4)
.overlay(
RoundedRectangle(cornerRadius: 18)
.strokeBorder(
isFocused ? .red : .clear,
lineWidth: 2
)
)
.padding(-4)
}
}
extension View {
public func keyboardFocus() -> some View {
modifier(KeyboardFocusModifier())
}
}
// MARK: - Button Modifier
/// ⚠️ Using a Button view makes no difference
struct ButtonModifier: ViewModifier {

}
.accessibilityAction {
action()
}

}
}

Allow the user to add their own tags to the default emoji tags.
For instance, this emoji, for me, is nonna: 🤌🏻. My efficiency would improve immensely if I could search for it as the “Nonna” emoji, rather than searching for nonna, remembering it doesn’t exist, trying the search for other things it might be called, realising I don’t know what it is, then having to scroll through all the hand emojis twice to find it.
🤌🏻🤞🏼👌
Hello community,
We're designing an app that can optionally be controlled by a stylus with a mesh tip. In this case, the mesh tip we're using is 5 mm in diameter. It seems that mesh tip contact detection is unstable in this size, although it works better with a larger diameter.
Is it possible to access a setting in iOS that lets you define the minimum contact area needed to detect a contact on the screen? This would enable us to use this 5 mm stylus.
Best regards,
Edwin

When I try to get the frames of a AXUIElementRef using AXUIElementCopyAttributeValue(element, (CFStringRef)attribute, &result) the frames are shifted and rotated on the iOS simulator.
I get the same frames when using the Accessibility Inspector when the Max is selected as the host.
When I switch the host to the iOS simulator the frames are correct.
How is the Accessibility Inspector getting the correct frames? And how can I do the same in my app?

before I start this could just be me and handful of people but I like to reorganize my phone screen to my needs based on what’s going on in life. I was jaut thinking it would be easier if u could get rid of all the folders at once then reorganize or something easier than this long extensive process it is now.
Triple tap for screenshot->notification->triple tap detected becomes a part of the screenshot and obscures the top part of screenshot.
Thanks

Hi,
Our app has a section where, we show to users how to activate "Silence Unknown Callers", because is a crucial feature for our app. But, we saw that 30% of users drop the process here, because we can't open directly that setting option in phone app.
We are using this url scheme to open phone settings in iOS 18:
if let url = URL(string: "App-prefs:com.apple.mobilephone") {
UIApplication.shared.open(url)
}
But, we don't see other way to open directly the path "silence", like in iOS 17, with this url scheme: prefs:root=Phone&path=SILENCE_CALLS
So, do you know if is possible open that option directly? We want to improve our accessibility.
Thank you!
The AVSpeechSynthesizer on some iOS 18 device has a bug that it will read always read Chinese of:
AVSpeechUtterance(string: "中文") // Any Chinese Content
in the dialect specified by:
Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices > Chinese > Spoken Language
instead of the dialect that I specified in AVSpeechUtterance.voice:
AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language: "zh-HK") // Cantonese
AVSpeechSynthesisVoice(language: "zh-TW") // Mandarin
However, setting Chinese dialect of AVSpeechSynthesisVoice by "zh-HK" or "zh-TW" has been working on iOS 17 and below.
My app has a feature that requires reading sentences in Mandarin followed by Cantonese, i.e., both dialects is needed every time. Therefore, setting the dialect in Spoken Language of Settings is not a workaround to make my app to function correctly in iOS 18.
Further to the above, I've also discovered that, if iOS 18 (in my case, 18.5 is tested) is freshly installed (not upgrading from iOS 17 or below, nor restoring backup after fresh installation of iOS 18), the bug above will not happen.
However, if it was an upgrade from iOS 17 or below, or backup is restored (in my case, I freshly installed iOS 18.5 on a new iPhone and then restored a backup from another iPhone on iOS 16.2), the bug above happens.
This bug puzzled me because I need both dialect of Chinese to be read aloud one by one, but as reported by many users, on most iOS 18 devices (since a fresh installation of latest iOS without upgrading or restoring is uncommon nowadays), my app will read Cantonese two times or Mandarin two times (depending on Spoken Language in Settings). It is the iOS 18 bug which made my app unable to perform the expected behavior.
Would Apple developers look into this and advise if there are any possible workaround within the code of app to overcome this bug, or please fix this bug with an iOS 18 update. Thank you.
