Questions Regarding Apple's Third-party SDKs Signature Policy
Hello, I have a question regarding Apple's policy on third-party SDK signatures. I have reviewed the official documentation here: https://developer.apple.com/support/third-party-SDK-requirements/ Our app is developed in the following environment: Minimum Target: iOS 15 Xcode: 26.2 Engine: Unreal Engine 4.27.2 We are integrating the Firebase SDK into our project. However, we are experiencing app crashes caused by an issue within the GoogleAdsOnDeviceConversion.xcframework included in the Firebase SDK (related to a memory optimization issue in UE4). According to an official response from the Firebase team, this crash can be resolved by wrapping the Firebase SDK in a dynamic XCFramework. We have confirmed that this solution does indeed fix the crash. The problem is that wrapping the Firebase SDK in a custom dynamic XCFramework removes all of the original Firebase SDK signatures. The documentation on third-party SDK signatures, which I referenced earlier, states that a signature is required for the Firebase SDK, and this requirement also applies when repackaging it. This leads me to the following questions: Question 1: When we wrap and repackage the Firebase SDK, is it mandatory for the resulting XCFramework to still include the original Google LLC signature? Question 2: To resolve the crash, we intend to use the Firebase SDK by wrapping it in our own dynamic XCFramework (e.g., FirebaseWrapper.xcframework). When we do this, the resulting XCFramework loses the Google LLC signature, and consequently, the final built IPA's signature list does not contain any Firebase-related signatures. Will this be a reason for rejection during App Store review? Question 3: If we wrap the Firebase SDK in a dynamic XCFramework and then sign it with our own developer certificate, would this be a reason for rejection during App Store review?

First-time notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" for 24+ hours — Electron app
Hi, All notarization submissions for our new Electron macOS app have been stuck in "In Progress" for over 24 hours, with no logs available. Environment: Team ID: T7632V8V2D Certificate: Developer ID Application (valid, identity 83AC47F44D984509D5530439DD32729076B84982) Tool: xcrun notarytool submit (Xcode CLI) App: Electron 33, signed with hardened runtime, entitlements include allow-jit and allow-unsigned-executable-memory File: zip of .app (~236MB for arm64, ~104MB for x64) codesign --verify --deep --strict passes with no issues Apple System Status shows "Developer ID Notary Service: Available" Stuck submissions (all "In Progress", no logs available): ea0fd8d4-1f2d-4266-aa84-aa3f3ba9a8fb (Apr 8, 09:40 UTC) dfaacdd2-1a11-4844-b8b7-b07bae809a7b (Apr 7, 16:49 UTC) 8256e1f0-e501-4423-8744-35b5b78ec87f (Apr 7, 10:32 UTC) a477d536-d84a-4c25-99ca-d125e0a22de1 (Apr 7, 09:07 UTC) This is our first time notarizing any app on this developer account. We understand first-time submissions may be routed to in-depth analysis, but 24+ hours with no progress on any of the 4 submissions seems unusual. Could someone from Apple check our team's queue status? Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Investigating Third-Party IDE Code-Signing Problems
I regularly see questions from folks who’ve run into code-signing problems with their third-party IDE. There’s a limit to how much I can help you with such problems. This post explains a simple test you can run to determine what side of that limit you’re on. If you have any questions or comments, please put them in a new thread here on DevForums. Put it in Code Signing > General topic area and apply whatever tags make sense for your specific situation. Share and Enjoy — Quinn “The Eskimo!” @ Developer Technical Support @ Apple let myEmail = "eskimo" + "1" + "@" + "apple.com" Investigating Third-Party IDE Code-Signing Problems DTS doesn’t support third-party tools. If you’re using third-party tooling and encounter a code-signing problem, run this test to determine whether you should seek help from Apple or from your tool’s vendor. IMPORTANT Some third-party tools create Xcode projects that you then build and run in Xcode. While that approach is understandable, it’s not something that DTS supports. So, the steps below make sense even if you’re already using Xcode. To check that code-signing is working in general: Launch Xcode. In Xcode > Settings > Accounts, make sure you’re signed in with your developer account. Create a new project from the app project template for your target platform. For example, if you’re targeting iOS, use the iOS > App project template. When creating the project: Select the appropriate team in the Team popup. Choose a bundle ID that’s not the same as your main app’s bundle ID. Choose whatever language and interface you want. Your language and interface choices are irrelevant to code signing. Choose None for your testing system and storage model. This simplifies your project setup. In the Signing & Capabilities editor, make sure that: "Automatically manage signing” is checked. The Team popup and Bundle Identifier fields match the value you chose in the previous step. Select a simulator as the run destination. Choose Product > Build. This should always work because the simulator doesn’t use code signing [1]. However, doing this step is important because it confirms that your project is working general. Select your target device as the run destination. Choose Product > Build. Then Product > Run. If you continue to have problems, that’s something that Apple folks can help you with. If this works, there’s a second diagnostic test: Repeat steps 1 through 10 above, except this time, in step 4, choose a bundle ID that is the same as your main app’s bundle ID. If this works then your issue is not on the Apple side of the fence, and you should escalate it via the support channel for the third-party tools you’re using. On the other hand, if this fails, that’s something we can help you with. I recommend that you first try to fix the issue yourself. For links to relevant resources, see Code Signing Resources. You should also search the forums, because we’ve helped a lot of folks with a lot of code-signing issues over the years. If you’re unable to resolve the issue yourself, feel free to start a thread here in the forums. Put it in Code Signing > General topic area and apply whatever tags make sense for your specific situation.

Notarization in queue but stuck in process
Hello! All notarization submissions for our team (i.e., me) have been stuck "In Progress" since my first attempt on 2026-03-31. This includes a trivial Hello World CLI binary (single print statement, ~8KB), confirming the issue is account/team-level, not related to package content. Team ID: KK4X4YSB8V (Selitic B.V.) This is our first time notarizing. Binary is properly signed with Developer ID Application certificate, hardened runtime enabled, valid timestamp. codesign --verify and spctl pass locally. Unable to change codesign page size during xcodebuild export
We've noticed, that size of our ipa started to vary from time to time. We've found that all the difference was in the LC_CODE_SIGNATURE command under the _LINKEDIT segment of binary. The main reason of that change was the different number of hash slots due to different value of page size: 4096 on macOS SEQUOIA and 16384 on macOS TAHOE. So the size of the final binary was dependent on the machine, it was produced on. I didn't find out any information on why the default page size changed on TAHOE. Apple’s codesign supports a --pagesize argument. For regular builds that setting can be passed via OTHER_CODE_SIGN_FLAGS=--pagesize 16384. But it seems that xcodebuild export ...` completely ignores it: i've tried to pass invalid size (not the power of two), and the export still succeded. I've also managed to get xcodebuild logs via log stream --style compact --predicate 'process == "xcodebuild" OR process == "codesign"' --level trace They have no occurrences of --pagesize: 2026-03-24 13:43:27.236 Df xcodebuild[93993:a08c53] [IDEDistributionPipeline:verbose] invoking codesign: <NSConcreteTask: 0x8a1b21bd0; launchPath='/usr/bin/codesign', arguments='( "-f", "-s", 8C38C4A2CB0388A3DB6BAEFE438F20E044EE6CB2, "--entitlements", "/var/folders/w_/5t00sclx2vlcm4_fvly7wvh00000gn/T/XcodeDistPipeline.~~~T3Dcdf/entitlements~~~c2srXx", "--preserve-metadata=identifier,flags,runtime,launch-constraints,library-constraints", "--generate-entitlement-der", "--strip-disallowed-xattrs", "-vvv", "/var/folders/w_/5t00sclx2vlcm4_fvly7wvh00000gn/T/XcodeDistPipeline.~~~T3Dcdf/Root/Payload/App.app/Frameworks/FLEXWrapper.framework" )'> So here I have some questions: How is the default page size selected? Why the default page size may change between SEQUOIA and TAHOE? How to provide page size to xcodebuild's export or it's a bug that it doesn't look at the value of OTHER_CODE_SIGN_FLAGS?

Provisioning profile missing entitlement: com.apple.developer.icloud
Hi, I do have a strange behavior in my development environment on a Mac mini (M4) running 26.2 and Xcode 26.3. Everything was working as expected. My project had a stable state and I wanted to enable iCloud support. As result I could not run the app any more because code signing failed with the message that my profile does not include the above entitlement. On my notebook (M2) with XCode 26.3 everything is working. Im am using GIT and both computers have identical code. The code compiling and running on my notebook will not run any more on my Max mini. Any help to find what might have broken the code signing and how it could be fixed? Thanks in advance.

App store capability request
I requested the Family Controls (distribution) capability but am not sure if I did it correct. I applied, answered the questions why i needed it and submitted. Its been about 2 weeks since applying. In the app configurations, it on apple dev site, it shows in the request history that I submitted it on March 17, but I can click the request (+) button and request it again. Just want to make sure I didn't mess anything up--it seems like they would prevent me from sendin another request if I had already requested it. It hasn't taken them this long to get back to me in the past which is why I am confused. If anyone knows how to speed up the process, please let me know! Thanks.

How do I resolve the "Automatic signing cannot update bundle identifier..." error?
When I create an archive file and attempt to upload the app using the "Distribute App" button, the upload fails with the error "Automatic signing cannot update bundle identifier...". (The detailed message is below.) When creating an archive file in Xcode, I unchecked "Automatically Manage Signing" and proceeded with the archive. The message says "Font Enumeration," but other apps with the same option enabled upload successfully. Therefore, I believe the "Font Enumeration" option is not the issue. I tried creating a new provisioning file, but it still doesn't work. I deleted all DerivedData files from my Mac storage, restarted Xcode, and tried again, but it still doesn't work. This keeps happening only for certain targets (specific apps) in Xcode. Does anyone know how to fix this? Xcode is the latest version. Message: Automatic signing cannot update bundle identifier "com.xxxxxx.xxxxxx". Automatic signing cannot update your registered bundle identifier to enable Font Enumeration. Update your bundle identifier on https://developer.apple.com/account and then try again.

No certificate for team '' matching 'Developer ID Application' found
When completing signing on Xcode, it shows the following error message "No certificate for team '' matching 'Developer ID Application' found" I have already followed the steps to generate a certificate from keychain and made a new certificate on developer portal, along with its associated provisioning profile. Viewing "Manage Certificate" window shows the newly created certificate, but Xcode seems to not be able to locate it.

Notarization Request not found after 12 hours
Made a notarization request a few hours ago and woke up to check the history and it's no longer available. Not rejected/accepted just not found. I have gone ahead to make another request but I have no confidence because I expect the same thing to happen again. Any guidance? App notarization is taking long
Hi, I read that notarization should be fairly quick. I thought that it was stuck, so I ended up sending a few submissions of the same app. I was wondering if you'd able to tell me the status of my latest submission (id: a094f93d-8bb2-47fe-a411-b6e357456ec7). It has been saying "In Progress" for over 3 hours now. If it is held for in-depth review, would you be able to tell me what's the wait period is like? Thanks!

All notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" — first-time notarization, 9 submissions over 16+ hours
I'm submitting my first macOS app (a native SwiftUI menu bar app, signed with Developer ID Application certificate, Hardened Runtime enabled) for notarization using xcrun notarytool submit with keychain profile authentication. All 9 of my submissions have been stuck at "In Progress" for up to 16 hours. None have transitioned to "Accepted" or "Invalid." Logs are unavailable for all of them (notarytool log returns "Submission log is not yet available"). Environment macOS: 26.2 (25C56) Xcode: 26.1.1 (17B100) notarytool: 1.1.0 (39) App: Native SwiftUI, universal binary (x86_64 + arm64), ~2.2 MB DMG Bundle ID: com.gro.ask Team ID: 4KT56S2BX6 What I've verified Code signing is valid: $ codesign --verify --deep --strict GroAsk.app passes with no errors $ codesign -dvvv GroAsk.app Authority=Developer ID Application: Jack Wu (4KT56S2BX6) Authority=Developer ID Certification Authority Authority=Apple Root CA CodeDirectory flags=0x10000(runtime) # Hardened Runtime enabled Runtime Version=26.1.0 Format=app bundle with Mach-O universal (x86_64 arm64) Entitlements are minimal: com.apple.security.app-sandbox com.apple.security.network.client Uploads succeed — each submission receives a valid submission ID and the file uploads to Apple's servers without error. However, every submission after that fix has been stuck at "In Progress" with no state transition. What I've tried Submitting both .dmg and .zip formats — same result Verified notarytool log — returns "Submission log is not yet available" for all stuck submissions Apple Developer System Status page shows the Notary Service as "Available" I've also emailed Apple Developer Support but have not received a response yet Questions Is this the expected behavior for a first-time notarization account? I've seen other threads mentioning that new accounts may be held for "in-depth analysis," but 16+ hours with zero feedback seems excessive. 2. Is there any manual configuration Apple needs to do on their end to unblock my team for notarization? 3. Should I stop submitting and wait, or is there something else I can try? Any guidance from DTS would be greatly appreciated. This is blocking the release of my app.

Missing Entitlement. The bundle ... is missing entitlement 'com.apple.developer.networking.networkextension'."
Hello everyone, I'm encountering an issue while trying to publish an app on TestFlight. The app in question is Home Assistant, which I've compiled from the source. I am able to compile and install the app on my device without any problems. My company's developer account is properly configured, and I have set Xcode to automatically manage the provisioning profile. The archive is also created successfully, but when I attempt to upload it to Apple Store Connect for testing via TestFlight, I receive the following error: ERROR: [ContentDelivery.Uploader] Asset validation failed (90525) Missing Entitlement. The bundle 'Home Assistant.app/PlugIns/HomeAssistant-Extensions-PushProvider.appex' is missing entitlement 'com.apple.developer.networking.networkextension'. (ID: ceac6dcc-9c76-412e-8ea7-f2d2845f8013) I've made several attempts to resolve this issue to no avail. For instance, if I add the missing capability manually, then I am informed that the provisioning profile is incorrect. However, checking the network extension settings on my company's dev account, I see nothing related to push notifications, which are located elsewhere. Thus, I am stuck in a loop where either the provisioning file is correct but the entitlement is missing, or if the entitlement is present, then the provisioning profile is deemed incorrect. Notarization submissions stuck in "In Progress" for many hours with no logs
Hi, I currently have multiple notarization submissions that have been stuck in "In Progress" status for many hours without any updates. Here are several examples from my recent submissions: Submission IDs: 01f7a80e-a9cc-49b3-bb93-94b126cf3124 (a.dmg) 7af2b25f-e131-40a4-bcd3-0f7583ebbdc2 (a.dmg) 2b35ec79-d851-41d6-a900-788d4201a273 (b.dmg) 8194b1af-a270-4de9-92f1-ce2a8d4782f2 (c.dmg) 2608dcfc-7652-4efa-97e3-1749e7130dcb (d.zip) These submissions were created between March 11 and March 12, and all of them remain stuck in the "In Progress" state indefinitely. When checking using: xcrun notarytool history all recent submissions appear as: status: In Progress Additionally: No logs are available for these submissions. notarytool --wait eventually times out after 30 minutes with exit code 124. The app bundles are signed with a valid Developer ID Application certificate. All embedded frameworks and dylibs are individually signed using: --options runtime --timestamp Earlier submissions on the same day (for example df41010c-a3c6-4e2d-a455-b657693e8541) were successfully notarized and returned Accepted, so the signing configuration appears to be correct. Because many submissions across different files (DMG and ZIP) are stuck in the same state, it seems possible that the notarization service queue may be stalled. Could you please help confirm: Whether these notarization submissions are stuck on the Apple notarization service side If there is currently a service issue affecting notarization processing Whether I should cancel and resubmit these uploads Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Notarization is taking forever
I have recently enrolled in the Apple Developer to get my app notarized, and submitted an Archive for notarization, but it is taking forever. It has almost been a whole day, but the status is still in progress, whereas I have seen other developers say that the same takes 10-15 mins to an hour for them. Am I doing anything wrong? Please guide me through this.

Notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" for 2+ days
Multiple notarization submissions have been stuck at "In Progress" status for over 2 days with no resolution or error: 4996643b-4512-4025-9648-028fbafca82f - submitted Jan 18 b6db6cd0-dad7-4a8e-b1fc-379467c1086d - submitted Jan 17 88f269c1-56ea-4404-98ba-edbe9a05b3d2 - submitted Jan 19 No logs available (notarytool log returns "not yet available"). The submissions were uploaded successfully and received submission IDs. Is there a known issue with the notarization service?

FamilyControls App Blocking Not Working for External TestFlight Testers
Hi everyone, I'm following up on this post I made earlier about an issue I'm having with FamilyControls and the DeviceActivityMonitor extension not working for external TestFlight testers. To briefly recap: I have official Apple approval for the com.apple.developer.family-controls entitlement (distribution) The entitlement is added to both my main app and the DeviceActivityMonitor extension The App Group is correctly configured for both targets On internal TestFlight builds, everything works as expected: app blocking works, the extension runs, and selected apps are shielded. On external TestFlight builds, users get the Screen Time permission prompt, can select apps to block, but nothing is blocked. Since that post, I submitted a Code Level Support request, and Apple asked me to file a bug report via Feedback Assistant. I did that almost a month ago. The only reply I’ve received since is that they can’t give a timeframe or guarantee it will be resolved. I'm stuck in limbo with no updates and no fix. This feature is critical to my app and I cannot launch without it. I’ve reached out to other developers who use app blocking, and none of them have run into this issue. My setup seems correct, and Apple has not said otherwise. If anyone has experienced something similar, found a workaround, or knows how to get real movement on a bug report like this, I would really appreciate any help. It’s been weeks, and I just want to launch my app. Thanks so much.

Submission history (all stuck): Successfully received submission history. history -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T11:29:01.416Z id: 39f5e536-d1a6-429b-947d-1a3ac497c03d name: hello-test2.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T09:21:47.585Z id: 46322e0f-026c-4b9d-ab1f-d15d7013c6c6 name: hello-test.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T07:23:47.576Z id: 8199ab8c-7897-461e-8a85-329d3eb22568 name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T05:49:10.593Z id: 410ebd83-8f7d-436a-b30e-2106e9847b2a name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-04-01T05:48:52.555Z id: 3d096415-46f9-4743-9dee-692f1c359249 name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-03-31T20:07:52.318Z id: a0e2e5a5-e0ea-4815-86d4-d1c335c4680a name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress -------------------------------------------------- createdDate: 2026-03-31T20:07:15.593Z id: 1684585c-c454-479d-add6-7fd33ae8da2a name: nekode-notarize.zip status: In Progress notarytool log returns "Submission log is not yet available" for all submissions, indicating Apple's backend has not started processing.

I fixed the build configuration and confirmed flags=0x10000(runtime) is present on all subsequent builds.
