If I install RealmSwift into an ios app using SPM, I have no problems.
However if I install it into an ios framework, then when building there is this error:
error: missing required modules: 'Realm.Private', 'Realm', 'Realm.Swift'
I have discovered that if I change the import statement from:
import RealmSwift
to
private import RealmSwift
then doing that makes this build error goes away (but doing that isn't a feasible workaround as I would like to publicly export classes stored in Realm from the framework).
There's no point in posting issues with Realm on their support board as its being deprecated and its tumble weeds on their forum.
But I would be very interested in hearing from the Apple expects explanation or speculation on:
why is importing the same framework via SPM into a framework xcode project resulting in different behavior then when importing it into an app?
why would changing import to private import make the build error go away?

I have a warning on my AR app Virtual Tags that since July does not show its camera information telling:
"ARCL.SceneLocationView implements focusItemsInRect: - caching for linear focus movement is limited as long as this view is on screen."
I tried inserting the function, but documentation does not explain what it should return and how to generate it. Is someone able to help me?

I'm on version 16 of simulator and Xcode. Last Friday, starting the simulator would take 10 seconds at the most. Now, it takes at least 10 minutes. My app target is the same and nothing in my app itself has changed. There's no new software installed and it has plenty of RAM and disk.
When I target my phone, it is instant. So I'm testing / debugging everything on my phone now. When I use the simulator, the initial load is about 10 minutes, then it's fine (using the app itself). But something is causing it to hang when loading. And like I said - last week it was fine. If it was slow when running on my phone, I'd think it was something with me/the app. But it's not.

I'm quite new to Xcode development, and I've been having an issue test-running my app. When I run the app on my iPhone from my Mac, the app launches properly and works initially. However, when I close the app fully and try to reopen it, it keeps crashing. This occurs whether I test on a physical device or an iPhone simulator.
Somehow, this issue does not occur when the app is run on Profile mode.
I would appreciate any pointers to debug this.

But the availability for ARGeoAnchor is still false.

I'm having an issue specifically with SwiftUI previews in my iOS project. The project builds and runs fine on devices and simulators (in Rosetta mode), but SwiftUI previews fail to load in both Rosetta and native arm64 simulator environments. My project is a large, older codebase that contains a mix of UIKit, Objective-C and Swift
Architecture Issue: The project only builds successfully in Rosetta mode for simulators. SwiftUI previews are failing in both Rosetta and native arm64 environments. I’m facing an issue with running my app on my iPhone, and I’m hoping someone can help. Here’s my situation:
I’m using Xcode 14.3.1 on macOS Ventura 13.7.4.
My iPhone is running iOS 18.3.2 (Model: iPhone 14 Pro).
When I connect my iPhone to Xcode, I get the error: "Could not locate device support files. You may be able to resolve the issue by installing the latest version of Xcode from the Mac App Store or developer.apple.com."
I understand that Xcode 14.3.1 only supports up to iOS 16.4, and my iPhone’s iOS 18.3.2 is much newer. Unfortunately, I cannot update my macOS to Sonoma (14.x) due to hardware limitations, so I cannot install a newer version of Xcode (like 15.x or 16.x) that supports iOS 18.3.2.
I’ve tried adding device support files manually, but the repositories I found (e.g., iGhibli/iOS-DeviceSupport and JinjunHan/iOSDeviceSupport) only have files up to iOS 16.4 or 17.3, and they don’t work for iOS 18.3.2.
Does anyone have the device support files for iOS 18.3.2 (or a close version like 18.3) that I can add to my Xcode 14.3.1 to make it work with my iPhone? Alternatively, does anyone know a reliable source where I can download these files? Any other suggestions to resolve this issue without upgrading my macOS would be greatly appreciated!

I've been using XCode for development in C++ for several years. Suddenly, today it started having the following problem: Any time I try to compile my code, (even if I just finished successfully compiling it), it spends several minutes running CLangStatCache. This is according to the result of "Perform Action... Build with Timing Summary". Furthermore, if I first delete the ".../DerivedData/SDKStatCaches.noindex" folder, the problem goes away and it compiles immediately. However, it creates a new folder with a 32 Mb file in it, and then has the same problem the next time unless I delete that folder again. I do not want to have to delete this file every time I compile my code. Is there some way to turn this off? What happened that is different today from any other day in the last several years? I did just download and install the latest System software update, including XCode... Did that break something?

I have already deleted all caches and also deleted Xcode 16.2 and reinstalled.

Xcode 16 seems to „forget“ a swift package within a subfolder of a root package after restart or shut-down.
I have the following project structure, which also resembles the directory structure on disc:

- MyGenerator // <- after restart this folder is not visible in the Xcode project navigator

MyGenerator is a standalone package which is used during development of MyPackage to generate source code files for MyPackage based on text file input. Essentially an executable target script which I can run within its folder with:
swift run MyGenerator someInputFile.txt
MyPackage does NOT use MyGenerator as a dependency, nor do I want this tool listed as a dependency in MyPackage Package.swift file.
Yet MyGenerator is part of the same Git repo, as it documents the changes to the tool on how to generate source code for MyPackage. Both packages are developed in tandem.
MyGenerator itself defines dependencies in its Package.swift file, which are unrelated to the functionality of MyPackage.
After restart of Xcode or even just a longer shut-down period the MyGenerator subfolder is not visible in the Xcode project navigator, the /Tools folder is empty. I have to manually add the sub package via Add files to "MyPackage" -> Move files to destination every time.
How can I solve that Xcode remembers the sub package unter /Tools?

Trying to use SwiftUI Preview in Xcode 16.2 on complex project, I have no access to Developer Apple team, instead I am using manually installed provision profiles to test on iPhone.

I have an AppleTV app which I released in 2016. I've updated it and released a new version every year without much hassle.
This year, with tvOS 17.2, the layered app icon isn't working right. This is a two-layer image made with PNGs.
When it's selected, it looks right and the layers move correctly:
But when it's not selected, the background layer disappears:
Screenshots are from the simulator but it also happens on the device. It's inconsistent; sometimes it's the front layer that disappears. Occasionally both layers work, but I can't tell why.
I've spent a day trying everything. Very frustrated.
The icon previews correctly in Xcode and in Parallax Viewer.
The image sizes are correct: 400 x 240 for Small, 800 x 480 for Small@2x, 1280 x 768 for Large.
The back layer is a non-transparent PNG.
I tried adding a Large@2x set. Didn't help.
Originally I had a three-layer image with no middle layer PNG. I deleted the empty middle layer, but that didn't help.
All the PNG files are from GnuIMP. Same color space, even.
I was using the filenames tvicon-back-s.png and tvicon-back-s@2x.png. I tried taking out the @ sign in case that was confusing Xcode. (It never has before, but I am flailing here.)
Anybody have any clues? If it's an Apple bug and there's nothing I can do, I'm going to just push the release button and hope it fixes itself someday.

Yes, I understand what dSYMs are for - but the UUIDs don't appear anywhere
in my workspace (full text search on the folder),
in the build log,
or the ..thing.. the 'Export' button generates.
Any help much appreciated, ATM I don't even know where to start.

I am using Xcode 15.2. I am loading a URL in a WKWebView, but a hand cursor appears above the web view. Scrolling up and down does not work. I tried adjusting the scroll bounds and isUserInteractionEnabled, but the hand cursor is still visible. How can I fix this?
