Xcode JSONDecoder playground fails with 'The LLDB RPC server has crashed.
If I create a playground project that uses a JSONDecoder I get the following error. The LLDB RPC Server has crashed. The crash log is located at ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and has a prefix 'lldb-rpc-server'. Please file a bug and attach the most recent crash log. I have raised feedback for this, FB17702087, but I hope that there may be a workaround. The code I am using to try and get this to work is from The Apple Developer Documentation - JSON Decoder var greeting = "JSON Test 3" struct GroceryProduct: Codable { var name: String var points: Int var description: String? } let json = """ { "name": "Durian", "points": 600, "description": "A fruit with a distinctive scent." } """.data(using: .utf8)! let decoder = JSONDecoder() let product = try decoder.decode(GroceryProduct.self, from: json) print(product.name) // Prints "Durian" A screenshot of the playground showing the error The crash log (the file type has been changed to txt as ips file types cannot be selected for upload. lldb-rpc-server-2025-05-28-140832.txt

Bug in Xcode AI coding assistant
I've been experimenting with using local LLMs in place of ChatGPT in coding assistant. I was able to do this using LM Studio. I found that switching LLMs was a little clunky, but eventually, I was able to make it work. However, none of the LLMs I tried were able to generate error free Swift code. Not surprising at this stage. I decided to train an LLM (Llama3.1-8b) with Apple's Swift Programming language reference, using Open WebUI, and this worked. I was able to get the LLM to generate working Swift Code that I was able to test in Playgrounds. The problem I'm having now is that Xcode is locked up on the last LLM I tried out. I've tried deleting all the LLM providers in Settings, leaving only ChatGPT, but Xcode still defaults to the local LLM, even though it throws errors if you try to ask it a question. I've tried reinstalling Xcode, downloading new versions of sample Xcode projects, and deleting various data files, all to no avail. I would really like to test the new LLM I've trained in coding assistant, but right now, Xcode won't let me. It won't even let me revert to ChatGPT.

Proper includes into Package.swift
Ok, I have a bit of special problem. I want to use the "Swift Upcoming Feature Flags" in my packages. The problem is that we have quite a lot of Packages in a quite deep tree: at the root of the Package directory there are four dirs: AppA/ AppB/ Shared/ Temporary/ also the packages ExternalLibs and BuildPlugins. Temporary contains Packages that need rework and the other three subdirs each contain the subdirs: Features/ Utilities/ Services/ All in all there are over 100 packages. Now I would like to use definitions like https://github.com/treastrain/swift-upcomingfeatureflags-cheatsheet to use in the Package.swift files. And as you might guess, I do not want to copy those into each and every Package.swift file. It seems like SPM is only finding includes by itself if they are in the exact same directory as the Package.swift file 🙄 That's not at all helpful… Has anyone found a way to do useful includes into Package.swift files? Any help appreciated. Thank You Roddi

Privacy features in Coding Intelligence
What is the policy for data sharing when using Coding Intelligence in Xcode 26? In many environments, sending out source code or even meta data that may be stored in external systems is not allowed. Is there any kind of policy on data persistency / sharing when using the default provider? Is there a way to limit data sharing apart from running models locally?

Cannot debug app-extension-safe frameworks in main app
The code in my app is split into frameworks that I can use both from my main app and its app extensions. In order to use the frameworks inside the app extension, I need to build them with the Xcode build setting Require Only App-Extension-Safe API set to Yes. When I do that, debugging framework code in my main app no longer works properly. I can set a breakpoint, but any attempt to print a value via p or po will give a set of errors like the following: error: module file /Users/.../Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/...-daqfgouagvlkudfebrmzrurogmld/Build/Intermediates.noindex/SwiftExplicitPrecompiledModules/_errno-B8I5WSZMM09RXHYLYEWSC1BLE.pcm cannot be loaded due to a configuration mismatch with the current compilation error: Objective-C App Extension was enabled in PCH file but is currently disabled How do I fix this?

Device "..." isnt' registered in your developer account
Hi, I'm using Xcode 15.4. (always export as "Ad Hoc" with automatic signing) and just ran into a weird problem when I tried to run my app with the "play" button on a new iOS 18 iPhone: The build fails every time with the following error message in the "Signing & Capabilities" tab: Device "..." isnt' registered in your developer account. I added the iPhone's UDID to my developer account yesterday but I'm still getting the same error today. There's a "Register Device" button below the error message and when I click it, there are two new errors: There is a problem with the request entity: A device with number '...' already exists on this team. Provisioning profile "iOS Team Provisioning Profile: ...." doesn't include the currently selected device "...." (Identifier ...) The "try again" button below the first part doesn't do anything. How do I fix this?

Is SFSymbol Customization officially valid as a method for using SVG in embedded widgets (lock-screen & watchOS)?
Is SFSymbol Customization officially valid as a method for using SVG in embedded widgets (lock-screen & watchOS)? I use this in UnitedPizzaHelper but wonder whether this is the prime cause why all widgets of this app gets missing on iOS devices? This issue only happened on at least 2 device in the recent 12 months (they are all on iOS 18, and one of them is running iOS 18.5... Rebooting device won't work.), and we currently have no clue how to troubleshoot this. Update: The guy running iOS 18.5 told me that the widgets are now discoverable after waiting for minutes. Seems that this is a random issue.

Cannot load developer teams in Xcode.
Hi, The ui error says unable to login, but I'm able to login (because if I don't give the correct password it's a different error). When Xcode tries to fetch the available teams though it errors out. I can successfully login and access my teams on a different machine that's on the same network. So I know the account and network are fine. Here's what the ui shows .. and I'm also including the Xcode logs from Console. Any ideas? Thanks! xcode.log

❗️Xcode-beta: “missing required module ‘SwiftShims’” and C99 PCH conflict
Hi all, I’m running into a persistent build issue with my Swift project ORSOFINAL after migrating from Xcode stable to Xcode-beta.app 26 (June 2025 version). ⸻ 💥 Errors displayed: 1. Apple Watch no longer connects reliably in Xcode
Hi all, I'm developing a standalone SwiftUI watchOS app (no iOS host or extension), targeting watchOS 11.5, and running into persistent connection issues with Xcode. Xcode rarely detects my Apple Watch (Series 7, watchOS 11.5) Sometimes it appears nested under the iPhone; most of the time, it doesn’t Errors include: "OS version is lower than the deployment target" (both are 11.5) "Unable to install... device not supported" "Connection error 4000", "Tunnel timeout error 1001" "Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on both machines" (Wi-Fi is on and on the same network) Once in a while, the app does install, but mostly I’m blocked. What I’ve Tried Verified pairing and trust Cleaned builds, nuked Derived Data and caches Reset iPhone privacy settings Removed and re-added my Apple ID Used xcrun xctrace list devices (watch inconsistently appears) Despite this, the app only installs about 5% of the time. Testing (or even running) on real hardware is nearly impossible, and has become incredibly frustrating for me. Any help or insights would be much appreciated.
