I am using a custom PAC file in network settings and till now with Sonoma & Sequoia OS, it was working perfectly fine and I was able to redirect traffic to my proxy server. After upgrading to MacOS Tahoe, this stopped working completely. What is happening now is no url is opening on my machine with Chrome & Firefox browser, but somehoe Safari is working. After checking, I found that my deployed network extension is intercepting traffic and allowing it to pass. But still, the pac file is not working. Are there any changes done in MacOS Tahoe regarding this PAC file? How can I resolve this issue?

Hello all, I'm building a web application in ASP.NET MVC (.NET Framework 4.7.2), from this web app I need to send push notifications to users. For the ones who are logged in with windows/android, everything works as expected, but I can't manage to get it work on the apple side. If I use the same methods to subscribe to push notifications, it shows me the popup that asks the user to enable push notifications, and then I get an endpoint like this: https://web.push.apple.com/QKC1Muic0H7... It doesn't work using this (taking the part after https://web.push.apple.com/), I keep getting "Bad device token" (trying to send the notification via APNS). Then I found out that there is another method to register the device from the frontend, and this one should give me the real device token: window.safari.pushNotification.requestPermission But this one doesn't show me the popup, it gives me "denied" without a reason. We have a Safari extension that's been up on the App Store for about 18 months with no apparent issues. This week, however, while working on an update, we uninstalled the production version on our test machines and installed a developer version. When we had some issues, we tried to go back to the production version downloaded from the App Store, but we get an pop saying "Unable to download App." In the log, the most obviously relevant error is 'Operation not permitted'. This occurs on several machines and different logins on those machines in both norma and safe modes. However, on another machine that never had one installed, we could still install the app from the app store, so I suspect there is something left behind that needs to be removed, but I don't know what. FWIW, I see the download directory getting created under /Applications, but it is promptly removed when the failure popup appears. Any suggestions?

We are encountering a download issue in Safari 18.2 on macOS Sequoia 15.2 where file downloads initiated by our AngularJS application (such as Excel exports) are silently blocked. YouTube now requires a Referer to be sent to be able to embed Youtube videos, otherwise the videos won't work. But WKWebView doesn't send a Referer when using a custom scheme, so Youtube videos stopped working in that case. This affects Ionic apps, both using Cordova or Capacitor. There's an open issue for Cordova and another one for Capacitor. In these apps, the app is served using a custom scheme like capacitor://localhost or ionic://localhost. I tried modifying the Ionic WebView source code to force adding a referrer to the URL loaded using WKWebView's loadRequest: [request addValue:@"https://my.test.app" forHTTPHeaderField:@"Referer"]; [_engineWebView loadRequest:request] But the Referer is still not sent in the Requests, I guess because the app is using a custom scheme (e.g. capacitor://localhost). Is there any way to make WKWebView send a Referer when using a custom scheme?

It seems fetch() does not include credentials (cookie) even when credentials: include is used and Safari extension has host_permissions for that domain when using from a non-default Safari profile. It includes credentials (cookie) when using from the default profile (which has the default name Personal). Is there anyone who has this problem? Hi all, I'm developing an application that uses WKWebView to display a web application which I augment with iOS native utilities such as Speech to Text and IAP. The application also uses Service workers, so we define AppBound Domains in the info.plist file. Everything works for this, but when we deploy on a device the application will crash and say we need these entitlements com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.networking, com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.rendering, com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.webcontent, com.apple.runningboard.assertions.webkit From what I can see, we do need all of them. However Apple suggest submitting a request to be an Altnerative Browser (https://developer.apple.com/support/alternative-browser-engines) This is not appropriate for the application in my view since one requirement of being an alternative browser is that you don't modify the resources on the web site - we of course do since we inject javascript in order to bridge between iOS and the contents of the webview. How are people navigating this issue? I assumed it would be common given the use of Tauri etc. to build similar types of applications, but I don't see much about it. Thank you!

If we use webView.loadFileURL(indexURL, allowingReadAccessTo: readAccessURL) on an iPad it loads the data and navigation works. But if we place two hands on top of the screen and move a bit, all click events are not working anymore. It works again if we call loadFileURL again. We filled a bug report: FB19812304

Are there any recommended ways to use an OAuth2 API in my application? The API that I am using does not specifically say that it supports PKCE. However, I have heard from some sources that it does. If it does not support PKCE, how do I still create a secure app infrastructure that will pass App Store Review? At a more basic level, what is the difference between OAuth2 and PKCE?
