Our use case is a base auto-renewable subscription with optional subscription add-ons (e.g. Effects and Templates). The Advanced Commerce API eligibility page lists Mac Catalyst, but does not explicitly list native macOS. However, the macOS 15.4 release notes mention support for Advanced Commerce API purchases in StoreKit. Could someone please clarify: Is Advanced Commerce API supported for native macOS App Store apps (not Mac Catalyst), including subscriptions with optional add-ons? Does it support introductory free trials, e.g. a 3-day free trial for the base subscription? Can existing auto-renewable subscription subscribers be migrated to Advanced Commerce API and then purchase optional add-ons as part of the same subscription? Many thanks!

We’re evaluating a new subscription setup for our macOS app and would like to confirm whether this architecture is supported by the App Store. Subscription Group 1 — Video Editor Video Editor Video Editor + Effects Subscription Group 2 — Effects Effects This would allow users to get access to Effects in two ways: Option 1 — Bundle The user subscribes to Video Editor + Effects from Group 1 and gets both entitlements through one subscription. Option 2 — Add-on The user subscribes to Video Editor from Group 1 and separately subscribes to Effects from Group 2. In both cases, the user ultimately gets access to the same Video Editor + Effects functionality. We understand that users can have active subscriptions from different subscription groups at the same time. Our question is specifically about the Effects entitlement: Is it permitted to offer the same Effects entitlement both as part of a bundled subscription in one subscription group and as a standalone add-on subscription in another group? We would prevent duplicate purchases in the app — for example, the standalone Effects subscription would not be offered to users who already have Effects through the Video Editor + Effects bundle. Is this subscription architecture supported, or would Apple recommend a different subscription-group structure for this use case?

Hello Apple Support Team, We are planning to discontinue support for older macOS versions (macOS 11 and below). However, I have a concern regarding the analytics I see in App Store Connect. When I filter Paying Users by platform version, I see that about 23% of users are on macOS 11 or lower. This is a significant portion of our user base, and I would like to clarify: Does this “platform version” metric reflect the current operating system version that the paying user is running? Or does it reflect the macOS version at the time when the user first purchased a subscription? Thank you in advance for your clarification.
