Codesigning is skipping bundled dylibs in a binary framework
I have a framework in my project that is composed of a main framework binary, with a number of dylibs that it depends on bundled with it: MyFramework.framework/ Versions/ A/ Frameworks/ foo.dylib bar.dylib Resources/ ... MyFramework _CodeSignature/ ... It is signed to run locally before being bundled into my main app project. Unfortunately, when embedding and signing the framework into my app, codesign is skipping re-signing the dylibs, which causes my hardened app to reject them from being loaded. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

Unable to test macOS apps after updating to Sonoma
I've recently updated my development laptop, and my continuous integration build nodes (a pair of Mac minis) to macOS Sonoma. Prior to this update, my CI workflows passed without issue. Since updating, every time I attempt to run my app's unit tests, an impassible alert is shown stating: “MyApp” differs from previously opened versions. Are you sure you want to open it? Opening “MyApp” will allow it to access data from previously used versions of “MyApp”. My tests go no further, and my CI workflows fail. I found that if I switched from using Ad-Hoc code signing for my tests, that this dialog is no longer shown on my local development laptop, however it is still shown on my CI nodes. Is there some way to tell Xcode to bypass this warning? If there's not, Sonoma doesn't seem to be usable for doing testing.

LOCALIZED_STRING_MACRO_NAMES for Swift package targets?
I have a custom localisation function in my project that enforces the inclusion of the bundle parameter (specifically so that Swift packages are forced to include the Bundle.module value). While migrating to String Catalogs, I noticed that my custom localisation function wasn't being recognised by the automatic extraction that the Swift compiler is doing, but only in my Swift package targets. Is there a way to set something like LOCALIZED_STRING_MACRO_NAMES in Swift Packages?

SwiftData SchemaMigrationPlan and VersionedSchema not Sendable?
I've just tried to update a project that uses SwiftData to Swift 6 using Xcode 16 beta 1, and it's not working due to missing Sendable conformance on a couple of types (MigrationStage and Schema.Version): struct LocationsMigrationPlan: SchemaMigrationPlan { static let schemas: [VersionedSchema.Type] = [LocationsVersionedSchema.self] static let stages: [MigrationStage] = [] } struct LocationsVersionedSchema: VersionedSchema { static let models: [any PersistentModel.Type] = [ Location.self ] static let versionIdentifier = Schema.Version(1, 0, 0) } This code results in the following errors: error: static property 'stages' is not concurrency-safe because non-'Sendable' type '[MigrationStage]' may have shared mutable state static let stages: [MigrationStage] = [] ^ error: static property 'versionIdentifier' is not concurrency-safe because non-'Sendable' type 'Schema.Version' may have shared mutable state static let versionIdentifier = Schema.Version(1, 0, 0) ^ Am I missing something, or is this a bug in the current seed? I've filed this as FB13862584.

URLSession: The network connection was lost.
I'm seeing behaviour that I'm struggling to work out when making GraphQL related network requests (these are POST requests). I note that QA1941 covers the "lost connection" errors that I see in my responses, but I'd like to understand more, because just retrying the connection without understanding why I need to seems problematic. Here's the (partially redacted) logs I see when the error occurs: quic_conn_keepalive_handler [C69.1.1.1:2] [-0178f8467262b9e978791446c6629ddb66b2efc1] keep-alive timer fired, exceeding 2 outstanding keep-alives nw_read_request_report [C69] Receive failed with error "Operation timed out" nw_read_request_report [C69] Receive failed with error "Operation timed out" nw_read_request_report [C69] Receive failed with error "Operation timed out" nw_read_request_report [C69] Receive failed with error "Operation timed out" nw_read_request_report [C69] Receive failed with error "Operation timed out" 0x16264d818 69 stalled, attempting fallback Task <A6CC8D4D-83E1-4C61-96C7-BDDF2F04A35F>.<11> HTTP load failed, 1822/0 bytes (error code: -1005 [4:-4]) Task <3B0AAA67-3162-4F80-A930-D93F8A7EF1A4>.<12> HTTP load failed, 1823/0 bytes (error code: -1005 [4:-4]) nw_endpoint_flow_fillout_data_transfer_snapshot copy_info() returned NULL Task <A6CC8D4D-83E1-4C61-96C7-BDDF2F04A35F>.<11> finished with error [-1005] Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1005 "The network connection was lost." Failed to emit precompiled module in Xcode 26b1
I'm trying to bring up an existing macOS app workspace to build against the macOS 26 SDK, however Xcode 26b1 is producing the following error, and I'm unable to proceed: /Users/tonyarnold/Documents/Reveal/<unknown>:1:1: error reading '/Applications/Xcode-beta.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/clang/17/include/module.modulemap': No such file or directory /Users/tonyarnold/Documents/Reveal/<unknown>:1:1: failed to emit precompiled module '/Users/tonyarnold/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/ModuleCache.noindex/_Builtin_stdbool-LVR359SH1U4537HG9T3JOGN.pcm' for module map '/Applications/Xcode-beta.app/Contents/Developer/Toolchains/XcodeDefault.xctoolchain/usr/lib/clang/17/include/module.modulemap' I've checked and the module map that it claims is missing is there on the filesystem. Is this a known issue with this beta?

unsupported configuration: the aggregate target 'SwiftLintBuildToolPlugin' has package dependencies, but targets that build for different platforms depend on it
I'm seeing an error in my project that doesn't provide enough information for me to investigate further in my "Compute target dependency graph" stage: error: unsupported configuration: the aggregate target 'SwiftLintBuildToolPlugin' has package dependencies, but targets that build for different platforms depend on it error: unsupported configuration: the aggregate target 'SwiftLintBuildToolPlugin' has package dependencies, but targets that build for different platforms depend on it error: unsupported configuration: the aggregate target 'SwiftLintBuildToolPlugin' has package dependencies, but targets that build for different platforms depend on it Is there anything I can do to get Xcode to print more information to the error navigator that might help me to work out what's causing this? This error has persisted across Xcode 26 beta 1, and still happens in Xcode 26 beta 2. It did not occur in Xcode 16.x. FB18045265

Xcode 26 RC unable to compile asset catalogs on CI
This started with Xcode 26 beta 7, however it has continued to occur with the release candidate. Whenever I try to compile our asset catalog + icon composer icon for our AppKit/SwiftUI-based macOS app, actool fails with the following exception: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'IBPlatformToolFailureException', reason: 'The tool closed the connection (AssetCatalogAgent-AssetRuntime) Last command: _ON_QUEUE_sendMessage:toChannelReturningError:during: Backtrace of last command: 0 -[IBAbstractPlatformToolProxy _ON_QUEUE_sendMessage:toChannelReturningError:during:] (in IDEInterfaceBuilderKit) 1 __74-[IBAbstractPlatformToolProxy sendMessage:toChannelReturningError:during:]_block_invoke (in IDEInterfaceBuilderKit) 2 _dispatch_client_callout (in libdispatch.dylib) 3 _dispatch_lane_barrier_sync_invoke_and_complete (in libdispatch.dylib) 4 DVTDispatchSync (in DVTFoundation) 5 -[IBAbstractPlatformToolProxy sendMessage:toChannelReturningError:during:] (in IDEInterfaceBuilderKit) 6 -[AssetCatalogRemoteAgentProxy compileItemsWithCatalogRelativeIdentifierPaths:tagSolutionSpace:andStickerPacksWithCatalogRelativeIdentifierPaths:options:] (in IDEInterfaceBuilderCocoaTouchIntegration) 7 -[IBICLARToolCARCompiler compileCARItems:tagSolutionSpace:options:queue:completionHandler:] (in AssetCatalogCocoaTouchKit) 8 -[IBICAbstractPlatformAdapter compileCARItems:tagSolutionSpace:options:queue:completionHandler:] (in AssetCatalogFoundation) 9 __84-[IBICAbstractPlatformAdapter compileSelectedItems:options:queue:completionHandler:]_block_invoke (in AssetCatalogFoundation) 10 __93-[IBICAbstractPlatformAdapter compileStandaloneCatalogItems:options:queue:completionHandler:]_block_invoke (in AssetCatalogFoundation) 11 __DVT_CALLING_CLIENT_BLOCK__ (in DVTFoundation) 12 __DVTDispatchAsync_block_invoke (in DVTFoundation) 13 _dispatch_call_block_and_release (in libdispatch.dylib) 14 _dispatch_client_callout (in libdispatch.dylib) 15 _dispatch_main_queue_drain.cold.5 (in libdispatch.dylib) 16 _dispatch_main_queue_drain (in libdispatch.dylib) 17 _dispatch_main_queue_callback_4CF (in libdispatch.dylib) 18 __CFRUNLOOP_IS_SERVICING_THE_MAIN_DISPATCH_QUEUE__ (in CoreFoundation) 19 __CFRunLoopRun (in CoreFoundation) 20 CFRunLoopRunSpecific (in CoreFoundation) 21 -[NSRunLoop(NSRunLoop) runMode:beforeDate:] (in Foundation) 22 -[NSRunLoop(DVTNSRunLoopAdditions) dvt_spinRunLoopInMode:whileQueue:executesAsynchronously:] (in DVTFoundation) 23 -[NSRunLoop(DVTNSRunLoopAdditions) dvt_spinRunLoopInMode:whileBlockExecutesConcurrently:] (in DVTFoundation) 24 -[NSRunLoop(DVTNSRunLoopAdditions) dvt_spinRunLoopInMode:waitingForSemaphore:] (in DVTFoundation) 25 -[IBCLIImageCatalogToolPersona compileCatalogCollection:withPlatformAdapter:arguments:outputDictionary:] (in ibtoold) 26 -[IBCLIImageCatalogToolPersona invokeArguments:outputDictionary:] (in ibtoold) 27 -[IBCLIImageCatalogToolPersona runSingleInvocation:outputtingToFileHandle:andVerifyingEnvironment:] (in ibtoold) 28 IBCLIServerRunSingleInvocation (in ibtoold) 29 __IBCLIServerRunSingleInvocationWithIODirectedAtPipesAndUnlinkOnSuccess_block_invoke_2 (in ibtoold) 30 __IBCLIServerRunSingleInvocationWithIODirectedAtPipesAndUnlinkOnSuccess_block_invoke (in ibtoold) 31 -[IBCLIErrorForwarder forwardErrorOutputToDescriptor:whileInvokingBlock:] (in ibtoold) 32 IBCLIServerRunSingleInvocationWithIODirectedAtPipesAndUnlinkOnSuccess (in ibtoold) 33 main (in ibtoold) 34 start (in dyld) I can't seem to get it to compile consistently — it works fine locally.
