Thank you so much for figuring this out and sharing your solution. This has been happening on iPad for my game and I care a lot about how the game looks... I've wasted like a full day on this thinking it was either my code, or Godot 4.4.1. I finally realized it's Apple's bug but then couldn't figure out a good work around. And then I found your response. I'm super happy that I just changed the flag in the info.plist and the problem is now fixed.
