Apple sent payment to inactive bank details

Hello everyone,

I've been using Wise to receive payments, and last month my bank changed my account details, deactivating the old one. I updated my bank account information on Apple and confirmed it as the new active account.

But today, Apple sent money to the deactivated account, and I received an email from my bank stating that it would be refunded back to Apple which can take 3-10 business days

Has anyone experienced a similar situation? I'm curious to know if anyone can share their experience and when Apple is likely to refund the money to my new account details. Thank you!

You should probably assume that the money is lost. I don't recall any of the previous threads like this reporting a happy outcome.
