On iOS 26 beta 5, it is impossible to add a VPN configuration when a passcode is set on the device. Every time, all it does is redirect to the Settings app with no prompt for passcode.
The only way around this is to disable passcode on the device so adding a VPN configuration doesn’t have to open the Settings app.
This issue happened intermittently in the past with previous iOS 26 betas and even on iOS 18, but the problem has worsened on iOS 26 beta 5 to the point where you have to turn off passcode to add a VPN.

Hello everyone,
I have been working on a macOS app that utilizes push notifications for the past year. Up until recently, everything was functioning correctly. However, now I'm experiencing issues where push notifications are either not being delivered at all or are experiencing significant delays, sometimes up to 10 minutes. Setting the priority header to 10 hasn't made any difference. I am currently using development push notifications, but the issue persists when switching to the production environment.
I'm curious if anyone else has encountered similar problems. When checking the push console, it frequently reports that the device is offline, even though it's actually online ("discarded as device was offline"). Occasionally, notifications are delivered promptly, but this is becoming increasingly infrequent.
This issue has been consistently reported by our testers, particularly after they updated to macOS Sonoma. Any insights or assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, thanks for reading my question. I need help with some odd behaviour with product.purchase() not triggering a confirmation dialog after a subscription has expired and trying to purchase it again. Seeing this in iOS 16.2 and 15.7.2 (haven't tried any other versions) on actual devices, not in simulator.
I'm using a sandbox user on the sandbox environment (not using the local store kit config file testing option).
Using a newly created sandbox user, first subscription purchase goes through just fine, dialog box pops up, login with sandbox user, get confirmation of purchase and then Transaction.currentEntitlements has one item as expected. It auto renews for 12 times (each time Transaction.currentEntitlements contains the correct results) and then expires, as expected for sandbox. Transaction.currentEntitlements is then also empty, as expected. All good so far.
Now I want to test purchasing it again...Call product.purchase() again to renew/start a new subscription and nothing happens, no confirm purchase dialog box pops up at all. The purchase function simply exits BUT returns success (as in the following gets called) but in self.updatePurchasedProducts(), Transaction.currentEntitlements is empty.

if I instead go to Settings->App Store->Sandbox User-> Manage Subscriptions and renew the subscription there, instead of in my app, then Transaction.currentEntitlements has a new entry and all is good again.
Alternatively, if I create yet another new sandbox user and logout of the old one I was using, I am once again able to purchase from within the app, so .purchase() once again works as normal.
Is there something I am missing about expired subscriptions and trying to purchase them again in the app? Is this a sandbox issue and in production I'll have no problem?
The sandbox user has purchasing enabled in Settings->App Store.
I've also tried calling AppStore.sync() (which is in my "Restore Purchase" button) before calling product.purchase() after the subscription stops renewing, expires and this issue comes up, doesn't resolve it.
Also have a less important question, the initial call to product.purchase(), the one that works as expected, has a bit of a delay before the confirmation dialog pops up, a few seconds, which will probably result in the user clicking the buy button again thinking it didn't work. Is a bit of a delay normal for sandbox? Will it be ok in production? When it fails, and I have to renew in Settings->AppStore->Sandbox user, there's also a bit of a delay after I return to my app, 5-15 or so seconds, before the transaction observer fires and currentEntitlements is checked again, is there a way to reduce this delay?

I've been seeing a high number of BGTaskScheduler related crashes, all of them coming from iOS 18.4. I've encountered this myself once on launch upon installing my app, but haven't been able to reproduce it since, even after doing multiple relaunches and reinstalls. Crash report attached at the bottom of this post.
I am not even able to symbolicate the reports despite having the archive on my MacBook:

We are experiencing an issue where MKMapView appears red on the app builded with Xcode 16 and executed on iOS 18 simulator.
Only the ground is affected and buildings or POIs stay normal color.
Xcode 16.1 beta 3 shows same result.
Is there any similar case?
On iOS 18.x when try to create EASession we get nil, but on iOS 17.x everything works.
We have app which use USB cable for connecting external accessories.
Scenario is when we have fresh instal, connecting with accessory work fine, EASession is created, streams are opened.
When we unplug USB, we close streams, remove any reference to session and accessory, remove accessory delegate.
When plug it again, creating EASession is returning nil. Only after restarting iPhone, we can create new EASession with appropriate protocol and accessory. Every next attempt without reseting iPhone is failing.

I have an Apple app that uses SwiftData and icloud to sync the App's data across users' devices. Everything is working well. However, I am facing the following issue:
SwiftData does not support public sharing of the object graph with other users via iCloud. How can I overcome this limitation without stopping using SwiftData?

AppleScript for the Music app no longer supports the current track event. Before macOS Tahoe, running the following script in Script Editor would return the current track information:

However, when I run this script on a device with macOS 26 Tahoe, I receive this error:
"Result: error "Music got an error: Can’t get name of current track." number -1728 from name of current track”
I've tested this extensively, and here are my findings:
Going to the “songs” tab and playing something from there makes everything work.
Playing any song directly will make it work with current track UNLESS this song is NOT in your Music library (either added through Apple Music or uploaded).
If you play a song not in your library, current track is not updated even if you clicked on it specifically.
Playing an album (in your library obviously) makes all the tracks within it appear in current track until autoplay takes over.
Any autoplayed track won’t appear in current track even if in your library (unless: see the last bulletpoint)
Music played through the “songs” tab all appear in current track even if autoplay kicks in. I assume this is because this tab is an iTunes legacy (visually and under the hood) and doesn’t use the modern autoplay. This tab also won’t play non-library songs unlike the “albums” tab which seems to use the correct autoplay and suffers the same symptoms as the “recently added”, “home”, “radio”, etc… tabs.
Is this a bug, or has Apple simply deprecated this functionality?
I've been trying to add a CoreSpotlight indexer to my macOS application. The new template for the indexer uses the new appex CSImportExtension style importer.

I changed the CSSupportedContentTypes in the Info.plist file to the correct file type uti.
I added a dummy value into the attributes (see code below) - just setting contentDescription to 'noodle' (easy to search for)

I have a number of files on disk that match the uti (and can be found when I search by the file name)
Yet, when I build and run my app, the a spotlight search for 'noodle' finds no results.
Can anyone give me any advice? I cannot find any indication that the ImportExtension is called (although when I put a log message at the start of the update() call there's no message in the console which seems to suggest it's not being called).
Is there any way of debugging this?

After pairing and having subscribed to a service, and even after having exchanged messages, the service fails after a period of time and both devices need to pair again.

We tested call blocking on iOS 26 and noticed something strange: the call will not be blocked if an outgoing call was made to its number before. Nevertheless, it will be blocked if we delete the outgoing call record from the Phone.app Recents.
This behavior looks like a bug and is unexpected when using our application. Was this a planned callkit change in iOS 26? Is it possible to get the correct call blocking behavior back?
We set blocking rules with addBlockingEntry(withNextSequentialPhoneNumber:) and this problem is not present in iOS 18 and earlier.

I am trying to localize the CFBundleDisplayName and OSBundleUsageDescription of a driver that is part of an app.
I am able to use InfoPlist.strings files to localize the Bundle display name for the app, but when I try to use the same file as part of the driver, the name displayed in settings for the app does not change correctly.
In fact, it seems to follow the default language set in the xcode project. If the default language is not included in the suite of InfoPlist.strings files, it seems to take the string from the info.plist file. sometimes it just seems to take the English version regardless of the default language or tablet language.
Has anyone had success with this?

I used SwiftData for v1 of an app and am now trying to make changes to the schema for v2. I created the v2 schema that adds a property to one of the models.
I need to populate the new property so I made a custom migration using didMigrate. However that doesn't seem to matter what I do in the migration because creating the ModelContainer throws an error before didMigrate ever gets called.
The error is:

BUG IN CLIENT OF CLOUDKIT: Registering a handler for a CKScheduler activity identifier that has already been registered
CloudKit setup failed because it couldn't register a handler for the export activity. There is another instance of this persistent store actively syncing with CloudKit in this process.
How can I know from this output what I am doing incorrectly?
Any idea what I should take a look at or try to do differently?
This is a simple app with three models and nothing fancy. The only change in the schema is to add a property. The new property is declared as optional and has an inverse that is also declared as optional.

After submitting onboarding form for Live Caller ID Lookup feature, we received rejection response that our OHTTP gateway doesn't support HTTP/2.
We have run provided command openssl s_client -alpn h2 -connect with our domain several times from different machines and environments, and our results consistently confirm that HTTP/2 is indeed supported by our OHTTP gateway.

We operate a social network application, SportsYou with over 3 million monthly active users and are experiencing significant issues with push notification delivery through APNs.
We have a large number of users reporting they are not receiving push notifications. Our infrastructure uses AWS SNS integrated with APNs to deliver notifications. However, AWS CloudWatch consistently reports successful delivery (Success response), even though users confirm they never received the notifications.
Because we receive success responses from AWS SNS, our system does not attempt to recreate or refresh the device endpoints. This leaves us unable to detect or recover from these delivery failures automatically.
This issue is widespread and inconsistent. It affects users across multiple variables including different iOS versions, different device models, and different versions of our application. We cannot identify a clear pattern that would help us isolate the root cause.
With millions of active users, even a small percentage of delivery failures represents thousands of users experiencing a degraded service. This is significantly impacting user engagement and satisfaction.
We need guidance on how to properly diagnose this issue and ensure reliable notification delivery to our users. Specifically, we'd like to understand why we're receiving success responses when notifications aren't being delivered, and what steps we can take to detect and prevent these failures.
I recently created a Sandbox account and successfully added an Apple Pay test MasterCard to the sandbox Wallet to run a test.
Yesterday, I created a different account and tried to add a MasterCard on another device, but I received a "Card device limit" error.
I then deleted the card from the original device (where it had been successfully added) and tried to re-add it, but this device also failed.
I was able to confirm that a JCB card can be added, but I need to test with MasterCard. What should I do to resolve this?

Hi, I have a released screentime app ScreenZen. The last few days I've seen a disturbing spike in bug reports coming from people with 17.4.1 and 17.5.1 phones with no update to the app itself. People reported they saw the issue immediately after updating their iOS version. Unfortunately it is not replicable on all phones with those versions, so we haven't been able to replicate it on our test phones.
It appears the issue is the ApplicationToken passed into ShieldActionExtension and ShieldConfigurationExtension does not match any of the ApplicationTokens that the user selected to block through FamilyControls. (The selected ApplicationTokens are being loaded through a group UserDefaults and they are indeed being loaded in the ShieldActionExtension in the bug reports).This is preventing the app from loading the correct settings and handling the blocking accordingly. I am trying to isolate this better with a new release with better logging, but would appreciate any help on this issue.
We have a subscription WeatherKit app which has been on the App Store since December 2023.
I am getting intermittent JWT auth failures on customer devices. In the great majority of cases, the request succeeds, but sometimes it fails, and sometimes it fails and never recovers. I’m working with a customer right now who is unable to get any weather data at all, and the logs he sends me show

The app uses the WeatherKit SDK (we are not using the REST API directly). We know we have the project setup as it has been working since launch, and I can verify weatherkit using

It it not a problem with the specific query, since I can get data for the dates and locations they are requesting. I can’t replicate the problem on my test devices.
In case there is a rate limit issue: this app is a bit unusual and downloads an unusual amount of data at once using multiple queries in parallel using a TaskGroup. When the user creates a location, the app downloads a 10 day block of weather (7 days in the past + 3 day forecast) using

Is anyone else seeing this? And can anyone suggest anything else to explore? It's obviously a terrible experience for customers who pay for the service and are unable to get any data.

My App payment encountered a unkonw((StoreKit.StoreKitError) error = unknown) error in iOS18.2, then the lldb log "Could not find a visible window in the scene for xxx purchase."."xxx" is purchase product id.
Why does this error occur, and how can I fix it?
WorkoutKit WorkoutScheduler seems broken with the first beta of iOS 18.2.
I have tested using my app from Xcode and the one that is on the App Store (and working properly on other devices), and it's not working with this new beta of iOS.
They appears in WorkoutScheduler.shared.scheduledWorkouts, but not on the watch.
I even tried with other apps that do the same with
Manual add to Apple Watch with SwiftUI workoutPreview work.
