How to create a dylib for iOS project?
I want to create a dynamic library for my iOS project, which would be loaded at runtime. In Xcode, there are templates available for creating a static/dynamic lib for MacOS. But under the iOS tab, there is only a "static library" template. So, I used the "static library" template and in its build settings I changed the Mach-O type to "dynamic library". Now after building it, I use the file command on the generated file and it tells me it is a dynamic lib. But the generated file still has .a extension, which is usually for static libs. I'm aware we can tell Xcode in build settings to change the .a extension to something else, say .dylib but this seems like a hacky way to create a dynamic library. What is the correct way? I am aware that standalone dylibs are not supported on iOS, and we need to wrap them in a framework. For my use case, the framework will literally be a wrapper, it won't have any source files of its own. It should only contain the dynamic lib generated from some independent codebase. I am not sure how to place the dylib in the framework.

Request for clarification of Developer mode
Hi Guys, I want to support my client for enable the developer mode, But they not accept to connect with any other devices(Mac Xcode) to enable developer mode. They are nearly 10 people to enable developer mode. But I think without mac we can't enable developer mode in some of devices. So I need a clarification with IOS versions. That's only we are excepting to list out which IOS versions don't have developer mode option default. Please list out that IOS versions Like below: default developer mode available IOS 17.4.1 default developer mode not available IOS 17.5.1

Unexpected app version in logs — does MARKETING_VERSION change dynamically?
Hello, I've encountered unexpected behavior related to version information in our app logs, and I'd like to ask for some advice. We reviewed logs collected from a user running our app (currently available on the App Store). The logs are designed to include both the build number and the app version. Based on the build number in the logs, we believe the installed app version on the user's device is 1.0.3. However, the app version recorded in the logs is 1.1.5, which is the latest version currently available on the App Store. In our project, we set the app version using the MARKETING_VERSION environment variable. This value is configured via XcodeGen, and we define it in a YAML file. Under normal circumstances, the value defined in the YAML file (MARKETING_VERSION = 1.0.3) should be embedded in the app and reflected in the logs. But in this case, the version from the current App Store release (1.1.5) appears instead, which was unexpected. We'd like to know what might cause this behavior, and if there are any known factors that could lead to this. Also, is it possible that MARKETING_VERSION might somehow dynamically reflect the version currently available on the App Store? yaml: info.plist:

How to consume a dynamic Xcode framework?
I have an Xcode project setup as follows: 3 static libraries 1 framework target, whose Mach-O type is set to Dynamic Library main app target (iOS app) The target dependencies are as follows: In framework's build phase [Link with libraries], I have the 3 libs statically linked. In the main app's build phase [Link with libraries], I have only the framework, which is dynamically linked. As per my understanding: The libs are statically linked to the framework. So, the framework binary would contain code from all the libs. The framework is dynamically linked to the main app (iOS app in this case). So, the main app's binary only has a reference to the framework's binary, which would be loaded in the memory at runtime. Assuming my understanding is correct, I'm stuck with the following problem: All 3 libs build successfully The framework builds successfully The main app target doesn't build. The compilation is successful, but the build fails with linker errors. Please let me know if I am doing something incorrectly, or if a configuration is missing. Assets.car not being built as part of the archiving and distribution process
I am working on a MAUI application. When I go to archive my build to then release it, my bundle is not including the Assets.car file that apple is seemingly expecting for handling the app icons, which is leading to issues trying to publish my app. The assets are in a AppIcon.appiconset folder in my project (under Platforms>iOS>Resources) with a proper Contents.json file also in there. They are setup as a BundledResource (also have tried ImageAssets for the build type but with the same issue occurring). I am using visual studio 2022 on Windows 11 paired with a Mac (Sequoia 15.5) and Xcode 16.4. I have even tried manually compiling the asset catalog from xcode16.4 and trying to use terminal commands to have actool create the Assets.car but that runs with no files created to the output destination as well as no errors. I believe there may be an issue with actools in my Xcode copy. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. Any suggestions or tips?

Unable to get a new API Key
When I try to get a new API Key I get the following error. "API Keys cannot be created due to an invalid Program License Agreement. Please update this agreement and try your request again." I have been to the agreement section, and it says: "Issued October 8, 2025. Accepted November 19, 2025." Any idea why I still get this error?? Not sure if that makes a difference. I had a paid account, but I didn't renew it because I don't need it anymore, and I was told that I can still use this account for free for app testing.

React native app crash on TestFlight
Good day everyone. I have a react native app which works on dev mode on my device - Iphone 13 pro version: 18.5, but when deployed to TestFlight and installed on same device it crashes when ever I click on any TextInput. I downloaded the crash file but finding it difficult to pinpoint the problem. I want to know what the problem is, if it's related to an installed package or code base or any other. iOS AppPresser app logs out automatically after any period of time (Android works fine)
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully helping me. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/gdl-graded-darts-leagues/id1592502150 I created a mobile app using AppPresser that is connected to my WordPress website. The iOS app is logging users out when they close the app and go back to it. The login session does not persist, and users are forced to log in again frequently. This happens at any time period between closing and opening the app. This only happens on iOS — Android keeps the session active as expected. I don't know if I've included this post in the correct topic, sorry. Thanks again for any ideas and assistance!

lldb-dap closes connection
If I build an x64 binary on my M4 Mini, when I try to debug it using Visual Studio remote debugging the connection is closed, which means I cannot debug my code in x64 mode. I need to be able to do this as I have architecture specific code. I have Rosetta installed. FWIW I have the same issue with lldb-mi :( David

If you have code to package as a framework which has a 3rd party dependency, what can you do given that iOS doesn't support umbrella frameworks
I've got a large and complex app which has several dependencies upon 3rd party libraries (installed as pods). The app is structured according to Model-View-Controller design and there is a requirement to implement the Model part as an .xcframework so it can be included and used in the original app along with a few new apps. However, Apple documentation states that umbrella frameworks are not supported (Technical Note TN2435). The Model code has several dependencies which would be totally unfeasible to replace or remove, for example it uses RealmSwift for database storage. Obviously it would be impossible to write one's own database storage scheme in place of using Realm. However, if my framework uses Realm as a dependency, then its now become an umbrella framework. So therefore not supported according to Apple documentation. So what are options/solutions?

Unable to Test Xamarin App with iOS 26 Simulators in Visual Studio
Hello, I’m trying to test a Xamarin.iOS application using the iOS 26 simulators in Mac Visual Studio, but I’m encountering an issue where the simulators are not appearing or accessible from Visual Studio. Details: macOS version: 15.6 (24G84) Xcode version: 26 Beta 5 Visual Studio version: 17.6.0.80 Xamarin.iOS version: Xamarin.Forms (Version: 4.6.0.1180) using XAML for cross-platform support (iOS/Android) The problem started after updating to iOS 26 SDK. I am unable to select or run the app on any iOS 26 simulator from Visual Studio. Has anyone faced a similar issue? Static library produced by Xcode 26 causes link error on Xcode 16
When a static library is built with Xcode 26 (with deployment target set to iOS 13) and then linked into an app project compiled with Xcode 16, the build process fails with the following linker error: Undefined symbols for architecture arm64: "_swift_coroFrameAlloc" This occurs even though both the static library and the app project have their deployment targets set to iOS 13.0. The static library works on Xcode 26, but fails to link on Xcode 16. This issue shows up with certain Swift syntax. For example, in my case, using a property getter and setter caused the compiler to emit a reference to _swift_coroFrameAlloc, which in turn triggered the issue. This issue prevents us from distributing pre-built static libraries compiled with Xcode 26 to teammates who are still using Xcode 16. I’ve filed feedback for this issue (FB21130604). Is there any way to work around it? For example, by adding specific Build Settings or something similar? I received hardly any response to my DTS ticket - What to do?
About three weeks ago I submitted a DTS ticket (13097367) to receive code level support with a potential SwiftUI bug. At first I did not receive any response at all (beside the automatic confirmation that the ticket has been created). Only after posting the question here, I got a reply from a DTS engineer. However, the proposed solution did not really solve the problem but only circumvents it (UI freezes when ScrollView reaches below SafeArea. Solution: Do not use ScrollView below SafeArea...) I pointed out, that this does not really help me. Since then I did not receive any further response. Is this normal? Is there something wrong with my ticket? Maybe it was closed by accident or something? Thank you very much!

AppleClang adds `/usr/local/include` to application search folders
By default, AppleClang adds /usr/local/include to the application search folders for include files (as opposed to the system include dirs). This causes problems with the expected include order because application search folders always have priority over system includes. Specifically it causes problems with the conan package manager as library includes are added with -isystem This behaviour differs from LLVM mainline clang and GCC, where /usr/local/include is a system include (added with -internal-isystem). Assets.car not being built as part of the archiving and distribution process
I am working on a MAUI application. When I go to archive my build to then release it, my bundle is not including the Assets.car file that apple is seemingly expecting for handling the app icons, which is leading to issues trying to publish my app. The assets are in a AppIcon.appiconset folder in my project (under Platforms>iOS>Resources) with a proper Contents.json file also in there. They are setup as a BundledResource (also have tried ImageAssets for the build type but with the same issue occurring). I am using visual studio 2022 on Windows 11 paired with a Mac (Sequoia 15.5) and Xcode 16.4. I have even tried manually compiling the asset catalog from xcode16.4 and trying to use terminal commands to have actool create the Assets.car but that runs with no files created to the output destination as well as no errors. I believe there may be an issue with actools in my Xcode copy. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no luck. Any suggestions or tips?

Unable to get a new API Key
When I try to get a new API Key I get the following error. "API Keys cannot be created due to an invalid Program License Agreement. Please update this agreement and try your request again." I have been to the agreement section, and it says: "Issued October 8, 2025. Accepted November 19, 2025." Any idea why I still get this error?? Not sure if that makes a difference. I had a paid account, but I didn't renew it because I don't need it anymore, and I was told that I can still use this account for free for app testing.

React native app crash on TestFlight
Good day everyone. I have a react native app which works on dev mode on my device - Iphone 13 pro version: 18.5, but when deployed to TestFlight and installed on same device it crashes when ever I click on any TextInput. I downloaded the crash file but finding it difficult to pinpoint the problem. I want to know what the problem is, if it's related to an installed package or code base or any other. iOS AppPresser app logs out automatically after any period of time (Android works fine)
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to read this and hopefully helping me. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/gdl-graded-darts-leagues/id1592502150 I created a mobile app using AppPresser that is connected to my WordPress website. The iOS app is logging users out when they close the app and go back to it. The login session does not persist, and users are forced to log in again frequently. This happens at any time period between closing and opening the app. This only happens on iOS — Android keeps the session active as expected. I don't know if I've included this post in the correct topic, sorry. Thanks again for any ideas and assistance!

lldb-dap closes connection
If I build an x64 binary on my M4 Mini, when I try to debug it using Visual Studio remote debugging the connection is closed, which means I cannot debug my code in x64 mode. I need to be able to do this as I have architecture specific code. I have Rosetta installed. FWIW I have the same issue with lldb-mi :( David

beginner problem - App fails after a few days
I developed (with AI help) using Xcode an app for myself. It logged certain places visited on a list, with photos and notes. It worked, but after a few days my iPhone can't launch it. What do I have to do to get this to last? I didn't think I needed to pay as this is purely for me.

If you have code to package as a framework which has a 3rd party dependency, what can you do given that iOS doesn't support umbrella frameworks
I've got a large and complex app which has several dependencies upon 3rd party libraries (installed as pods). The app is structured according to Model-View-Controller design and there is a requirement to implement the Model part as an .xcframework so it can be included and used in the original app along with a few new apps. However, Apple documentation states that umbrella frameworks are not supported (Technical Note TN2435). The Model code has several dependencies which would be totally unfeasible to replace or remove, for example it uses RealmSwift for database storage. Obviously it would be impossible to write one's own database storage scheme in place of using Realm. However, if my framework uses Realm as a dependency, then its now become an umbrella framework. So therefore not supported according to Apple documentation. So what are options/solutions?

Unable to Test Xamarin App with iOS 26 Simulators in Visual Studio
Hello, I’m trying to test a Xamarin.iOS application using the iOS 26 simulators in Mac Visual Studio, but I’m encountering an issue where the simulators are not appearing or accessible from Visual Studio. Details: macOS version: 15.6 (24G84) Xcode version: 26 Beta 5 Visual Studio version: 17.6.0.80 Xamarin.iOS version: Xamarin.Forms (Version: 4.6.0.1180) using XAML for cross-platform support (iOS/Android) The problem started after updating to iOS 26 SDK. I am unable to select or run the app on any iOS 26 simulator from Visual Studio. Has anyone faced a similar issue? Static library produced by Xcode 26 causes link error on Xcode 16
When a static library is built with Xcode 26 (with deployment target set to iOS 13) and then linked into an app project compiled with Xcode 16, the build process fails with the following linker error: Undefined symbols for architecture arm64: "_swift_coroFrameAlloc" This occurs even though both the static library and the app project have their deployment targets set to iOS 13.0. The static library works on Xcode 26, but fails to link on Xcode 16. This issue shows up with certain Swift syntax. For example, in my case, using a property getter and setter caused the compiler to emit a reference to _swift_coroFrameAlloc, which in turn triggered the issue. This issue prevents us from distributing pre-built static libraries compiled with Xcode 26 to teammates who are still using Xcode 16. I’ve filed feedback for this issue (FB21130604). Is there any way to work around it? For example, by adding specific Build Settings or something similar? I received hardly any response to my DTS ticket - What to do?
About three weeks ago I submitted a DTS ticket (13097367) to receive code level support with a potential SwiftUI bug. At first I did not receive any response at all (beside the automatic confirmation that the ticket has been created). Only after posting the question here, I got a reply from a DTS engineer. However, the proposed solution did not really solve the problem but only circumvents it (UI freezes when ScrollView reaches below SafeArea. Solution: Do not use ScrollView below SafeArea...) I pointed out, that this does not really help me. Since then I did not receive any further response. Is this normal? Is there something wrong with my ticket? Maybe it was closed by accident or something? Thank you very much!

AppleClang adds `/usr/local/include` to application search folders
By default, AppleClang adds /usr/local/include to the application search folders for include files (as opposed to the system include dirs). This causes problems with the expected include order because application search folders always have priority over system includes. Specifically it causes problems with the conan package manager as library includes are added with -isystem This behaviour differs from LLVM mainline clang and GCC, where /usr/local/include is a system include (added with -internal-isystem).
