New linker in Command Line Tools 16 not working with BLOCK DATA
We've encountered a critical issue with the new linker of CLT16 (version 16.1.0.0.1.1729049160) that prevents proper initialization of BLOCK DATA. BLOCK DATA are used to initialize global variables in our Fortran code, and its failure to initialize those variables leads to a program crash. This affects our community of more that thousand scientists worldwide. The current workaround is using the -ld_classic linker option. However, this option is deprecated and will be removed in a future release, as described in the Xcode release note. I've attached a minimal example that reproduces the problem using GNU gfortran with the following instructions (the attached main.f.txt and bd.f.txt need to be rename to main.f and bd.f, respectively): gfortran -c bd.f gfortran -c main.f ar rv libtest.a bd.o main.o gfortran -ld_classic -o good.x -L. libtest.a gfortran -o bad.x -L. libtest.a Running the two programs, one can see that the BLOCK DATA are not initialised without the option ld_classic, $ > ./good.x 3.7273802569289098 2.8083922366048202 $ > ./bad.x 0.0000000000000000 0.0000000000000000 We kindly request your attention to this matter and a prompt solution or alternative workaround. SFSpeechRecognizer is not working inside visionOS 2.4 simulator
I know there has been issues with SFSpeechRecognizer in iOS 17+ inside the simulator. Running into issues with speech not being recognised inside the visionOS 2.4 simulator as well (likely because it borrows from iOS frameworks). Just wondering if anyone has any work arounds or advice for this simulator issue. I can't test on device because I don't have an Apple Vision Pro. Using Swift 6 on Xcode 16.3. How to call API of tested app in UI Testing of Xcode7?
Hi guys, recently I've been investigating new UI Testing in Xcode7. There seems to be limited APIs we can call direct in UI test. Can I include header files and call public API of my tested app in UI Test? so that I can have more flexibility to set my app status before running test. I intent to call API method "-(void)reloadURL:(NSURL *)url" of my app in UI Test, but test failed with "XCTRunner -[_XCTRunnerAppDelegate myAppDelegateUtils]: unrecoginzed selector sent to instance 0x7cf0a992fe10"In Unit Test we can call any API of the tested app, does it support in UI Testing too? I'm a start learner of Xcode and its testing...could anyone help to answer this question? Thanks!

Predictive code completion is not working for existing project.
My project was created on a Mac with an Intel processor. Predictive code completion is enabled in Safari settings. The predictive model is loaded. However, the predictive typing does not work. For new projects it works. I took the following steps to fix this problem: 1. Ensure Indexing is Enabled and Up-to-Date: Enable Indexing: In Terminal, run the command defaults write com.apple.dt.XCode IDEIndexDisable 0. Clean and Rebuild: Go to "Product" > "Clean Build Folder" in Xcode. Then, rebuild your project. Check Derived Data: Xcode uses a "DerivedData" folder to store build artifacts. Try clearing this folder by navigating to ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData and deleting its contents (you can use the command rm -rfv * in Terminal). 2. Verify Xcode Settings: Enable Predictive Code Completion: Go to Xcode > Settings > Text Editing > Editing and ensure "Predictive code completion" is checked. Check for Predictive Code Completion Model: In Xcode, go to Settings > Components. Ensure the "Predictive Code Completion Model" is downloaded and installed. If it's not, try downloading it by clicking the "+" button and selecting it. Disable and Re-enable: Try disabling predictive code completion in Xcode's settings and then re-enabling it. But this not help. I use latest macOS and Xcode.

Xcode 16.0 syntax highlighting and autocompletion is broken for Swift packages with .binaryTarget
Syntax highlighting & code autocompletion is broken for Swift Packages wrapping an underlying binary target. Jump to defenition for module import shows the whole module interface and project builds & archives just fine, but any known workarounds to resurrect syntax assistant won't work without any errors/warnings. Replacing the .binaryTarget() with plain .target() with source code in package dependency brings all assistant features back. Steps to reproduce (project attached): Create a local Swift Package Add a dependency with binary target (for example — AppsFlyerFramework https://github.com/AppsFlyerSDK/AppsFlyerFramework) Try to use dependency product with binary dependency Attempted steps to fix: Full DD clean Full project clean ~15 min to index Xcode 16.0 & Sonoma 14.6.1, problem persists with Xcode16.2 & Sequoia. unsupported option '-G' for target 'arm64-apple-ios12.0'
I had an Intel macbook and I used that to build and release my app to app store but I didn't release for 2 years. Recently a bug was reported that I needed to update the a code and make a new release with my apple silicon macbook. But I get this issue when I go to Product -> Archive. Using Adhoc Profile for DriverKit show error: Xcode 14 and later requires a DriverKit development profile enabled for iOS and macOS
We got an app for iPad which has two targets one for the App itself (MainApp target ) and another one for the Driver ( Driver Target ) using DriverKit. The app works fine in Development, but I'm trying to distribute it with adhoc. I've requested the Distribution Entitlement to Apple, after getting it, the App Id for the Driver has the following Capabilities: DriverKit, DriverKit (development), DriverKit USB Transport (development), DriverKit USB Transport - VendorID, In-App Purchase Now in the profile section, I've created a adhoc profile for the Driver AppId (Identifier). Obviously I've also created an Adhoc profile for the Main AppId Finally in the Signing & Capabilities Section I set up the profiles for MainApp target, int the Debug one I set up the Development one and int the Release one I set up the adhoc one. I do the same in the Driver Target, but when I set up the Adhoc one in the Release, I've got a warning: Xcode 14 and later requires a DriverKit development profile enabled for iOS and macOS. Visit the developer website to create or download a DriverKit profile Also interestingly the Signing Certificate section says: None I also set up the Capabilities for the Driver Target: DriverKit USB Transport - VendorID DriverKit USB Transport ( Development ) Inside these capabilities I set up the vendor ID as dictionary The problem is, if I try to Archive the app I will get the previous Warning message as error: Xcode 14 and later requires a DriverKit development profile enabled for iOS and macOS. Visit the developer website to create or download a DriverKit profile. Any idea what I'm missing? Thanks

Unable to send iMessage game extension on simulator
I recently started building an iMessage game, and whenever I try to send the game through the first contact on the simulator to loop back into the second one, I get an alert saying "Unable to send. The recipient can not receive this item via satellite". Has anyone experienced this? If so, do you have a solution? It is making it a bit difficult to test the flow of my app.

Organizer won't load
I'm unable to use Organizer due to this error. The app shown in the error message is an old, unused test app. I'd delete it if I could, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. The app is named "@Home Test" and I suspect that the @ character is what's causing the problem. I need to use Organizer for a completely different app on another team, but I can't get past this.

Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles not showing for team
Hello, we are struggling for hours with the following issue: I have an individual developer account and since yesterday I'm member of developer team with an own organization account. I have access to an app in the team account as an "App-Manager", also the option "Access to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" is activated and I can see that it is activated for my account in AppstoreConnect. In "Apple Developer" I can also see the team and can switch to. But then I do not see the "Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" menu entry. Also the team is not showing up in XCode. Error downloading the Predictive Code Completion Model
Hi, I'm setting up Xcode and after updating MacOS to 15.2 and Xcode to 16.2, I cannot download the Predictive Code Completion Model. I've done some research and I haven't found any solution, specially since most people suggest that it randomly fixed itself, which for me hasn't been the case. I've tried restarting my Mac, uninstalling and reinstalling Xcode multiple times, I've also reinstalled MacOS from Recovery and haven't found any success (I'm also not running Xcode inside a VM, as I've seen this can cause some problems in this case). Paired Watch not appearing in Xcode
I managed to install watchOS 2 without having registered my Watch's UDID, but as it's part of the instructions for installing watchOS betas I thought I'd better do it now in case beta 2 bricks my Watch or something.However, the Watch isn't appearing in Xcode. I've tried both the latest public release and Xcode 7 beta, but there's "no paired devices" section under my iPhone when I connect it to Xcode and look in the Devices window.

How does one figure out the Team ID for their Personal Team
I can find the Team ID for a registered development account by going to:developer.apple.com &gt; Account &gt; Membership &gt; Team IDI'm sure that a similar ID exists for the Personal Team. If I select my personal team in xcode and then open MyProject.xcodeproj &gt; project.pbxproj, I can find said ID by looking for DEVELOPMENT_TEAM. But this is a rather hacky way to find my personal team ID. Are there other simpler ways to find it?

Microphone is not being detected in Safari on iOS
What I am trying to do is very simple. Environment description: macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 iOS Simulator version 12.3 Target device iPhone 11 (iOS 13.2.2) Open Safari > go to website > mictests.com Result: "Could not find any media devices. It is very likely that your browser does not allow access to these devices." The Simulator does have access to the microphone. I can use Siri just fine. Only Safari cannot access the mic. I'm really stuck here, any ideas are welcome.

Unable to install iOS & watchOS app to iPhone, because of intents change
I've been happily building and deploying my app to my iPhone and Watch S8, and the app was ready to submit to App Store Connect last night. However, when archiving it I got an error saying that my DynamicEventSelectionIntent was in multiple extensions. It was, kind of. When I started working on the complications I copied the Widgets intents into the complications, and left the name the same, but they were not in multiple targets. It looks like the info plist only had one item in the IntentsSupported (because they're the same name), so I decided to rename them so I had a widget one and a complications one. The problem I have now is that I can't deploy to my iPhone and Watch anymore because I'm getting this error: This app contains a WatchKit app with one or more Siri Intents app extensions that declare IntentsSupported that are not declared in any of the companion app's Siri Intents app extensions. WatchKit Siri Intents extensions' IntentsSupported values must be a subset of the companion app's Siri Intents extensions' IntentsSupported values. All I've done is rename one intent, and locate every instance of it in the info plist files, and add the appropriate new one into the right places. Here's what I've got. Main App contains Widget and WidgetIntentHandler, plus Watch App, which contains Complications and ComplicationsIntentHandler. Target: Main app: (I've removed everything that has no bearing on extensions.) Target: Widget: Target: WidgetIntentHandler: Target: Watch App: Target: Complications: Target: ComplicationsIntentHandler: Please, can someone tell me what should and should not be in the various parts, as I've tried for 12 hours now and I cannot get this to deploy to my iPhone anymore :( Thanks.

The identity used to sign the executable is no longer valid
Hi there, When I deploy my app to the iPhone for testing, I get the following error: Failed to verify code signature of /var/installd/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.4gpZFc/extracted/c_mll.app : 0xe8008018 (The identity used to sign the Please ensure that the certificates used to sign your app have not expired. If this issue persists, please attach an IPA of your app when sending a report to Apple. executable is no longer valid.) My account was mistakenly deactivated by Apple last month. After appealing, Apple restored it at the end of last month. Currently, my Apple Developer account seems to be working fine. Today, I recreated the developer certificate and identifier, added the account in XCode, everything seemed fine, and I clicked the XCode button (Start the active scheme). The build was successful, but I got the error: Failed to verify code signature of /var/installd/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.4gpZFc/extracted/c_mll.app : 0xe8008018 (The identity used to sign the executable is no longer valid.) Both my certificate and identifier were created just a few hours ago and show no issues. Before my account was deactivated, everything was working fine. I used a regular non-Apple developer account in XCode and performed the same steps, and it worked fine. I looked at relevant posts on the forum and tried the suggestions, but none of them solved my problem.

Swift Package Manager and AWS
I am trying to create a simple Swift package that uses AWS SDK for Swift but I get an error that says it can't import one of the modules, actually any of the modules. I researched this for a couple of days but can't figure out how to get this working. Any help would be appreciated.

Predictive code completion is not working for existing project.
My project was created on a Mac with an Intel processor. Predictive code completion is enabled in Safari settings. The predictive model is loaded. However, the predictive typing does not work. For new projects it works. I took the following steps to fix this problem: 1. Ensure Indexing is Enabled and Up-to-Date: Enable Indexing: In Terminal, run the command defaults write com.apple.dt.XCode IDEIndexDisable 0. Clean and Rebuild: Go to "Product" > "Clean Build Folder" in Xcode. Then, rebuild your project. Check Derived Data: Xcode uses a "DerivedData" folder to store build artifacts. Try clearing this folder by navigating to ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData and deleting its contents (you can use the command rm -rfv * in Terminal). 2. Verify Xcode Settings: Enable Predictive Code Completion: Go to Xcode > Settings > Text Editing > Editing and ensure "Predictive code completion" is checked. Check for Predictive Code Completion Model: In Xcode, go to Settings > Components. Ensure the "Predictive Code Completion Model" is downloaded and installed. If it's not, try downloading it by clicking the "+" button and selecting it. Disable and Re-enable: Try disabling predictive code completion in Xcode's settings and then re-enabling it. But this not help. I use latest macOS and Xcode.

Xcode 16.0 syntax highlighting and autocompletion is broken for Swift packages with .binaryTarget
Syntax highlighting & code autocompletion is broken for Swift Packages wrapping an underlying binary target. Jump to defenition for module import shows the whole module interface and project builds & archives just fine, but any known workarounds to resurrect syntax assistant won't work without any errors/warnings. Replacing the .binaryTarget() with plain .target() with source code in package dependency brings all assistant features back. Steps to reproduce (project attached): Create a local Swift Package Add a dependency with binary target (for example — AppsFlyerFramework https://github.com/AppsFlyerSDK/AppsFlyerFramework) Try to use dependency product with binary dependency Attempted steps to fix: Full DD clean Full project clean ~15 min to index Xcode 16.0 & Sonoma 14.6.1, problem persists with Xcode16.2 & Sequoia. unsupported option '-G' for target 'arm64-apple-ios12.0'
I had an Intel macbook and I used that to build and release my app to app store but I didn't release for 2 years. Recently a bug was reported that I needed to update the a code and make a new release with my apple silicon macbook. But I get this issue when I go to Product -> Archive. Using Adhoc Profile for DriverKit show error: Xcode 14 and later requires a DriverKit development profile enabled for iOS and macOS
We got an app for iPad which has two targets one for the App itself (MainApp target ) and another one for the Driver ( Driver Target ) using DriverKit. The app works fine in Development, but I'm trying to distribute it with adhoc. I've requested the Distribution Entitlement to Apple, after getting it, the App Id for the Driver has the following Capabilities: DriverKit, DriverKit (development), DriverKit USB Transport (development), DriverKit USB Transport - VendorID, In-App Purchase Now in the profile section, I've created a adhoc profile for the Driver AppId (Identifier). Obviously I've also created an Adhoc profile for the Main AppId Finally in the Signing & Capabilities Section I set up the profiles for MainApp target, int the Debug one I set up the Development one and int the Release one I set up the adhoc one. I do the same in the Driver Target, but when I set up the Adhoc one in the Release, I've got a warning: Xcode 14 and later requires a DriverKit development profile enabled for iOS and macOS. Visit the developer website to create or download a DriverKit profile Also interestingly the Signing Certificate section says: None I also set up the Capabilities for the Driver Target: DriverKit USB Transport - VendorID DriverKit USB Transport ( Development ) Inside these capabilities I set up the vendor ID as dictionary The problem is, if I try to Archive the app I will get the previous Warning message as error: Xcode 14 and later requires a DriverKit development profile enabled for iOS and macOS. Visit the developer website to create or download a DriverKit profile. Any idea what I'm missing? Thanks

Unable to send iMessage game extension on simulator
I recently started building an iMessage game, and whenever I try to send the game through the first contact on the simulator to loop back into the second one, I get an alert saying "Unable to send. The recipient can not receive this item via satellite". Has anyone experienced this? If so, do you have a solution? It is making it a bit difficult to test the flow of my app.

Organizer won't load
I'm unable to use Organizer due to this error. The app shown in the error message is an old, unused test app. I'd delete it if I could, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. The app is named "@Home Test" and I suspect that the @ character is what's causing the problem. I need to use Organizer for a completely different app on another team, but I can't get past this.

Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles not showing for team
Hello, we are struggling for hours with the following issue: I have an individual developer account and since yesterday I'm member of developer team with an own organization account. I have access to an app in the team account as an "App-Manager", also the option "Access to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" is activated and I can see that it is activated for my account in AppstoreConnect. In "Apple Developer" I can also see the team and can switch to. But then I do not see the "Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles" menu entry. Also the team is not showing up in XCode. Error downloading the Predictive Code Completion Model
Hi, I'm setting up Xcode and after updating MacOS to 15.2 and Xcode to 16.2, I cannot download the Predictive Code Completion Model. I've done some research and I haven't found any solution, specially since most people suggest that it randomly fixed itself, which for me hasn't been the case. I've tried restarting my Mac, uninstalling and reinstalling Xcode multiple times, I've also reinstalled MacOS from Recovery and haven't found any success (I'm also not running Xcode inside a VM, as I've seen this can cause some problems in this case). Paired Watch not appearing in Xcode
I managed to install watchOS 2 without having registered my Watch's UDID, but as it's part of the instructions for installing watchOS betas I thought I'd better do it now in case beta 2 bricks my Watch or something.However, the Watch isn't appearing in Xcode. I've tried both the latest public release and Xcode 7 beta, but there's "no paired devices" section under my iPhone when I connect it to Xcode and look in the Devices window.

How does one figure out the Team ID for their Personal Team
I can find the Team ID for a registered development account by going to:developer.apple.com &gt; Account &gt; Membership &gt; Team IDI'm sure that a similar ID exists for the Personal Team. If I select my personal team in xcode and then open MyProject.xcodeproj &gt; project.pbxproj, I can find said ID by looking for DEVELOPMENT_TEAM. But this is a rather hacky way to find my personal team ID. Are there other simpler ways to find it?

Microphone is not being detected in Safari on iOS
What I am trying to do is very simple. Environment description: macOS Catalina version 10.15.7 iOS Simulator version 12.3 Target device iPhone 11 (iOS 13.2.2) Open Safari > go to website > mictests.com Result: "Could not find any media devices. It is very likely that your browser does not allow access to these devices." The Simulator does have access to the microphone. I can use Siri just fine. Only Safari cannot access the mic. I'm really stuck here, any ideas are welcome.

Unable to install iOS & watchOS app to iPhone, because of intents change
I've been happily building and deploying my app to my iPhone and Watch S8, and the app was ready to submit to App Store Connect last night. However, when archiving it I got an error saying that my DynamicEventSelectionIntent was in multiple extensions. It was, kind of. When I started working on the complications I copied the Widgets intents into the complications, and left the name the same, but they were not in multiple targets. It looks like the info plist only had one item in the IntentsSupported (because they're the same name), so I decided to rename them so I had a widget one and a complications one. The problem I have now is that I can't deploy to my iPhone and Watch anymore because I'm getting this error: This app contains a WatchKit app with one or more Siri Intents app extensions that declare IntentsSupported that are not declared in any of the companion app's Siri Intents app extensions. WatchKit Siri Intents extensions' IntentsSupported values must be a subset of the companion app's Siri Intents extensions' IntentsSupported values. All I've done is rename one intent, and locate every instance of it in the info plist files, and add the appropriate new one into the right places. Here's what I've got. Main App contains Widget and WidgetIntentHandler, plus Watch App, which contains Complications and ComplicationsIntentHandler. Target: Main app: (I've removed everything that has no bearing on extensions.) Target: Widget: Target: WidgetIntentHandler: Target: Watch App: Target: Complications: Target: ComplicationsIntentHandler: Please, can someone tell me what should and should not be in the various parts, as I've tried for 12 hours now and I cannot get this to deploy to my iPhone anymore :( Thanks.

Preview crashes consistency in Xcode 16 beta
In the first Xcode 16 beta, none of my SwiftUI previews work - they all just crash on start up. Has anybody run into this and found a workaround? Have tried all the usual steps of cleaning the project/restarting Xcode.

Hi there, When I deploy my app to the iPhone for testing, I get the following error: Failed to verify code signature of /var/installd/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.4gpZFc/extracted/c_mll.app : 0xe8008018 (The identity used to sign the Please ensure that the certificates used to sign your app have not expired. If this issue persists, please attach an IPA of your app when sending a report to Apple. executable is no longer valid.) My account was mistakenly deactivated by Apple last month. After appealing, Apple restored it at the end of last month. Currently, my Apple Developer account seems to be working fine. Today, I recreated the developer certificate and identifier, added the account in XCode, everything seemed fine, and I clicked the XCode button (Start the active scheme). The build was successful, but I got the error: Failed to verify code signature of /var/installd/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.4gpZFc/extracted/c_mll.app : 0xe8008018 (The identity used to sign the executable is no longer valid.) Both my certificate and identifier were created just a few hours ago and show no issues. Before my account was deactivated, everything was working fine. I used a regular non-Apple developer account in XCode and performed the same steps, and it worked fine. I looked at relevant posts on the forum and tried the suggestions, but none of them solved my problem.
