Hi,
I want to block incoming calls using my backend server, like the unwantend sms using message filter extension. I saw that Call Directory Extension can block numbers, but you need update the list, is not in real time. I was reading the Live Caller ID Look up extension documentation, and it seems that with this extension is possible send the number to backend and retrieve a value to know if the call should be block or not.
Am I right? Or is not possible this feature with this extension?
Thanks!

When I execute:
geoCoder.reverseGeocodeLocation(location, completionHandler:{[weak self](placemarks, error) in
print("reverse geocoding location after altitude: ",location.altitude)
print("placemark location first", placemarks?.first?.location?.altitude ?? -1)
The input CLLocation has correct altitude 25, instead the location in the output placemarks have altitude 0, when of course they should have the same location. Moreover it is impossible to retrofit any data in the returned placemarks as they are portrayed as a read only property.
with the latest Xcode version, i am getting all kinds of errors:
few main ones:
/Users/akashbhatia/MyApp/ios/Pods/Target Support Files/ReactCodegen/ReactCodegen-prefix.pch:2:9 Could not build module 'UIKit'
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator18.4.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/CFNetwork.framework/Headers/CFNetwork.h:18:10 Could not build module 'CoreFoundation'
/Users/akashbhatia/MyApp/ios/Pods/Headers/Public/RCT-Folly/folly/portability/Config.h:20:10 'folly/folly-config.h' file not found
I have reinstalled Xcode, removed derived data, installed pod over and over again, but I have realized from the first error here, that it has more to do with Xcode and React Native now. Any help will be appreciated.
I am experimenting with Foundation Models using the new #Playground macro. It is pretty useful.
One thing I am finding though, is that the playground constantly executing is distracting, when I restructure my code and know that the intermediate results are broken and I don’t care about them.
I would like to disable the Playground, make some bigger code changes, and then enable Plaground again.
How do I enable and disable the Playground from constantly running?

I'm trying to evaluate if we can support AR navigation with MapKit. The feature is supposed to be available for users in US.
I tried to run the sample on my iPhone: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/arkit/tracking-geographic-locations-in-ar?language=objc
But I'm in a location that ARGeoTrackingConfiguration.checkAvailabilityWithCompletionHandler: always return false. I think ARGeoAnchor isn't supported in my location.
I tried to use simulated locations by
Adding a gpx file when launching the app.
Enabling Xcode -> Debug -> Simulate Location -> New York, NY, US
But the availability for ARGeoAnchor is still false.
Is that possible for me to develop the ARGeoAnchor feature outside of the covered areas?

I am creating an xcframework for a static library for iOS, but I am encountering a perplexing issue with Xcode 16.3.
When I build an xcframework using C++ in one project and import it into another project, the application runs with corrupted memory. In the framework project, I use os_unfair_lock, but when attempting to lock, the app crashes due to a state error. This suggests that memory corruption is occurring.
When the xcframework is built with Xcode 16.2, a proper binary is generated, and the app runs without any problems.
Since I do not want to disclose the source code, I am trying to construct a minimal project that reproduces the issue, but so far I have not been successful.
Fundamentally, I feel that the compiler in Xcode 16.3 cannot be trusted.
My application is in flightTest mode.
I received my first two crash reports in XCODE /Organizer. The context is well described, and I was able to isolate the locations where very serious errors occurred.
My application is connected. I'm missing one piece of data in this crash report: the time of the crash.
This will help me see what (in my case) static data was being read on the data server at that time. This will help me investigate.
Is it possible to obtain this information?

Xcode 16 seems to „forget“ a swift package within a subfolder of a root package after restart or shut-down.
I have the following project structure, which also resembles the directory structure on disc:
MyPackage
- Package.swift
- README.md
- Sources
- MyPackage
- Tests
- MyPackageTests
- Tools
- MyGenerator // <- after restart this folder is not visible in the Xcode project navigator
- Package.swift
- Sources
- main.swift
- Tests
MyGenerator is a standalone package which is used during development of MyPackage to generate source code files for MyPackage based on text file input. Essentially an executable target script which I can run within its folder with:
swift run MyGenerator someInputFile.txt
MyPackage does NOT use MyGenerator as a dependency, nor do I want this tool listed as a dependency in MyPackage Package.swift file.
Yet MyGenerator is part of the same Git repo, as it documents the changes to the tool on how to generate source code for MyPackage. Both packages are developed in tandem.
MyGenerator itself defines dependencies in its Package.swift file, which are unrelated to the functionality of MyPackage.
After restart of Xcode or even just a longer shut-down period the MyGenerator subfolder is not visible in the Xcode project navigator, the /Tools folder is empty. I have to manually add the sub package via Add files to "MyPackage" -> Move files to destination every time.
How can I solve that Xcode remembers the sub package unter /Tools?
Edit: I am using Xcode 16.2

xCode 26 fails to download simulators. I downloaded from the apple developer site. When I double click I get the above message. I went to the System Settings > GateKeeper, and selected Open Anyway.
This poped up a window with a button, Open in xCode-bata.
Clicking the button does not appear to do anything.
I can not use xcode without simulators.
I am sort of trying to do the opposite of what others are doing. I have a target called CopyFramework that creates a CopyFramework.framework within my main xcproj file.
I set up this target because a specific framework (we can call it Tools.xcframework) is distributed as a binary. That framework file lives within the code.
Tools.xcframework is structured like so
Tools.xcframework (Coding/testBuild/DynamicToolFrameworks/Tools.xcframework)
info.plist
ios-arm64/
Tools.xcframework/
Tools (executable file)
Tools.bundle
Headers/
Info.plist
Modules/
Tools.swiftmodule/
arm64-apple-ios.abi.json
arm64-apple-ios.private.swiftinterface
arm64-apple-ios.swiftdoc
arm64-apple-ios.swiftinterface
module.modulemap
module.private.modulemap
PrivateHeaders/
ios-arm64_x86_64-simulator/
When the CopyFramework target is run xcode does a few steps which copy the correct version of this framework to derived data.
Process Tools.xcframework (iOS)
Coding/testBuild/DynamicToolFrameworks/Tools.xcframework
/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/testBuild-sha/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/Tools.framework ios
cd /Users/calebkierum/Coding/testBuild
builtin-process-xcframework --xcframework Coding/testBuild/DynamicToolFrameworks/Tools.xcframework --platform ios --target-path Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/testBuild-sha/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos
Meaning essentially that the Tools.xcframework for the proper platform is taken from Tools.xcframework/ios-arm64 and copied to Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/testBuild-sha/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/Tools.xcframework
I am writing a Swift Package that needs to be able to reference the correct Tools.xcframework. I have set it up like so:
let package = Package(
name: "CoreObjC",
platforms: [.iOS(.v17), .macCatalyst(.v17)],
products: [
.library(name: "CoreObjC", targets: ["CoreObjC"]),
],
dependencies: [
// Does something to here ???
//.package(path: "../testBuild")
],
targets: [
.target(
name: "CoreObjC",
dependencies: [
// Here I would like to be referencing the CopyFramework.framework target within my buildTest.xcproj file
.product(name: "CopyFramework", package: /*??? its not in a swift package its a part of an xcproj file*/)
],
path: "CoreObjC",
publicHeadersPath: "Headers",
linkerSettings: [
.linkedFramework("Tools", .when(platforms: [.iOS])),
.linkedLibrary("c++")
]
),
],
cxxLanguageStandard: CXXLanguageStandard.gnucxx14
)
Now obviously this does not work. I do not know how to communicate to the Package.swift file that the binary dependency is a framework target within my xcproj file. If I do run the target CopyFramework followed by building CoreObjC it works though (so long as you comment out the bits trying to reference CopyFramework). Running the CopyFramework target processes the Tools.xcframework and copies the proper xcframework sub folder to Derived data and the Swift Package build system seems to be able to see it.
Is there a way I can get rid of this manual step? Make it so that when I build the CoreObjC target (swift package) that either CopyFramework is run or some other process is run to get the proper xcframework out of Coding/testBuild/DynamicToolFrameworks/Tools.xcframework and into DerivedData?
Is it even theoretically possible to have a Swift Package reference a target in a normal xcproj file?
Xcode 16.2.
When calling openURL:options:completionHandler: when in the simulator for a link in the app store (for example: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/slidewords/id503737864?mt=8) behavior is fine for simulated iPads, not for simulated iPhones.
When the simulated device is an iPad, the call correctly opens the app store link. When the simulated device is an iPhone, an error message "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid."
Note: the call works on an an actual iPhone (iPhone SE 3rd generation, unsure about other devices).

I am trying to perform an unstash operation. I RC on the stash to restore, select "Apply Stashed Changes". It then launches a comparison window to allow me to cherrypick the changes I want to include. However, the button along the bottom, "Apply Changes" is grayed out and remains so no matter what I do. Switching stashes, exiting and restarting xcode. TG i made an emergency project backup right before I did the stash, just for a case like this.

I'm integrating Apple Pay with PayFort in a Swift iOS application, and I’m currently working on preparing a valid purchase request using Apple Pay, as described in PayFort’s documentation:
🔗 https://docsbeta.payfort.com/docs/api/build/index.html?shell#apple-pay-authorization-purchase-request
The documentation outlines the following required parameters:
apple_data
apple_signature
apple_header
apple_transactionId
apple_ephemeralPublicKey
apple_publicKeyHash
apple_paymentMethod
apple_displayName
apple_network
apple_type
Optional: apple_applicationData
I understand these should be derived from the PKPayment object after Apple Pay authorization, but I’m having trouble mapping everything correctly. Here’s what I’m seeing in code:
payment.token
// Returns something like: <PKPaymentToken: 0x28080ae80; transactionIdentifier: "..."; paymentData: 3780 bytes>
payment.token.paymentData
// Contains 3780 bytes of encrypted data
payment.token.paymentData.base64EncodedString()
// Returns a long base64 string, which at first glance seems like it could be used for apple_data,
// but PayFort doesn't accept it as-is — so this value appears to be incomplete or incorrectly formatted
I can successfully retrieve the following values from payment.token.paymentMethod:
apple_displayName
apple_network
apple_type
However, I’m still unsure how to extract or build the following in the format accepted by PayFort:
apple_data
apple_signature
apple_header
apple_transactionId
apple_ephemeralPublicKey
apple_publicKeyHash
apple_paymentMethod
These may be contained within the paymentData JSON, but I’m not sure how to decode it or if Apple allows decrypting it in a way that matches PayFort’s expected format.
How can I correctly extract or build apple_data, apple_signature, and apple_header from the Apple Pay token?
Also, how should I handle the decryption or decoding (if necessary) of paymentData to retrieve values like apple_transactionId, apple_ephemeralPublicKey, and apple_publicKeyHash?
If anyone has successfully set this up or has example code that bridges Apple Pay and PayFort’s expected request format, it would be super helpful!
Thanks in advance 🙏

I have the 'warnings as errors' policy set to Yes for Apple Clang and Swift compiler.
As far as I know, there is no way to make exceptions to the warning policies from Swift compiler (correct me if I am wrong), what about Clang warning policies, specifically when it comes to header files from 3rd party pods? They don't show up on the Compile Sources so I can't apply flags such as -Wno-error=deprecated to them. Adding #pragma GCC... to them won't help as a fresh pod install will wipe the #pragma statements out.
Is there a way to exclude the header files from pods from getting the warning policies from Clang so I won't see errors from them when compiling Clang modules that's a part of the build process?
