Apple Developer Program Enrollment Application Not Processing (South Africa)
Hi Apple Developer Team, I’m a developer based in South Africa. I initially submitted my enrollment for the Apple Developer Program (Individual) last week Thursday (May 2nd, 2025). The enrollment was then withdrawn by Apple, asking me to re-apply - which I did. Unfortunately, the same issue persists. I entered valid payment details during the re-application. No payment has been deducted. The enroll button on the Apple Developer app remains disabled. It has now been 5 days without resolution. We’ve even gone to the extent of verifying our banking setup and confirming that our card is enabled for international payments. Out of frustration, I have now withdrawn all enrollment applications. Please advise on how I can proceed based on the Case ID I have submitted. This delay is affecting our iOS launch, and I would really appreciate guidance on the way forward. Thank you.

WatchOS app - installation not working
Hi everyone, I’ve been trying since yesterday to set up an Apple Watch app alongside my iOS app, but it’s not working at all. I created the app by adding a new target, selected watchOS > App, and linked it to my iOS project. When I run the Apple Watch scheme directly, the app works, but if I try to install it on my Apple Watch via the iOS app, it doesn’t work. Every time I tap install, I get a message saying that the installation failed. While reading the documentation, they mention an Info.plist file that is supposed to be generated with the watchOS app, but when I check, I don’t see any .plist file. Is that normal? Thanks for your help.

Why is Xcode so slow and bad?
I just want to rant why is Xcode such a bad ide and I wish Apple can do a better job on Xcode. Here's why: The preview is so slow. Most of the times it's just faster for me to test on a real device. It is so slow, and many times I need to force quite after it's being unresponsive for sometimes. When I'm working on larger projects, the loading time becomes extremely slow especially when there's other clients that might be reading the same files like a Git client or simply iCloud. The breakpoint is so slow. I don't know why, is it an iOS thing? But when I'm on ASP.Net the breakpoints are super fast. For Xcode it takes a long time to pause and show data. It's so big I don't know why it is so hard for Apple to make their ide better. The community has been unsatisfied with Xcode for a long time. There's many tricks on the internet that you can find to help you resolve some issues with your project that's actually related to Xcode. Instead of using these tricks, Apple should just fix these issues. Learn from Intellij!

Objective-C headers build fine with swift but not with Xcode
On my M4 Mac running macOS 15.5 using Xcode 16.4 & Xcode CLT 16.4, Swift code in my Swift Package Manager 5.9 project (https://github.com/mas-cli/mas) builds fine against some included Objective-C headers via the following command line: swift build -c release But cannot find modules for the included Objective-C headers when building inside Xcode 16.4 or with the following command line on the same Mac: xcodebuild -scheme mas -configuration Release -destination platform=macOS,arch=arm64,variant=macos The error is: Sources/mas/AppStore/AppleAccount.swift:9:16: error: no such module 'StoreFoundation' How can I get Xcode / xcodebuild to work? Note that the project is normally built by running: Scripts/build which runs: swift build -c release after running the following script, which must be run before any build (swift, Xcode, or xcodebuild) because it generates a necessary file (Sources/mas/Package.swift): Scripts/generate_package_swift I've tried moving the Objective-C headers into include subfolders of their existing module folders, using double quotes instead of angle brackets for the #import statements, having module.modulemap files in the include subfolders or their parent module folder, and moving the module folders one level up the file hierarchy, to no avail. I've also tried various changes to the root-level Package.swift (not the generated one deeper in the hierarchy, which isn't inclined in the build configuration), like making separate library targets for each of the Objective-C modules, various swiftSettings & linkerSettings, etc. Maybe some of those changes would have helped, but maybe they were in incorrect combinations. Thanks for any help.

Empty dSYM file detected & Error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename
I'm pulling my hair out here with this new Xcode 16, it complains that my app's dSYM is empty though it's clearly not, it's about 25MB. I'm working on a project using an internal static library, everything is built inhouse using swift, we own all the source code. It worked just fine until the other week, when I updated the Xcode, and now I can't debug anything. I keep getting "type for self cannot be reconstructed" when I run "po self.some_property". Why is that? The Debug information Format is set to DWARF with dSYM File for both the executable and lib projects. I've been a Unix guy since before I knew myself and I enjoy fixing things myself, down to bare metal, but man, this bug is driving me crazy. Is it even a bug?? It's the first time in more than 15 years since I started coding on Mac and iPhone when a bug has defeated me. I was always able to fix things using just the documentation and google, but the Apple toolchain is getting worse and worse nowadays. I remember the time when Apple made the complicated things simple, now they make the simple things complicated :( I just split the static lib from the main project one year ago, because of the ridiculously long build time. Should I merge back all the code in a single project? Something seems wrong to me. So I created this account to ask the masters. How can I get back my debug info (and sanity)? Using Xcode 15 is not an option because it doesn't run on Sequoia.

Network Instability in TestFlight Builds When Using Xcode 16+
We are experiencing networking issues in our iOS application when it is built with Xcode 16 or later. Our app includes a video conferencing feature that works reliably when built with Xcode 15 or earlier — we can sustain hour-long video sessions without interruption. However, when the app is built using Xcode 16 or higher, network connections drop after 2–3 minutes during a session. This triggers an auto-reconnect, which succeeds, but the connection drops again after another 2–3 minutes. This loop continues indefinitely. Key Details: The issue only occurs in TestFlight builds. When running the app via Xcode debugger, the issue does not occur. The issue is consistently reproducible in TestFlight builds created with Xcode 16 or later. TestFlight builds created with Xcode 15 do not exhibit this issue. All the videoconferencing runs on C and C++ code What We’ve Tried: Reviewed Xcode 16+ release notes but found no relevant changes or deprecations. Verified app configuration and entitlements. Confirmed that no app-side changes occurred between the working and broken builds. Request: We’re seeking guidance on what changes in Xcode 16+ could be affecting networking behavior in release/TestFlight builds. Any insight into relevant build settings, compiler changes, or runtime behavior differences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Error in bnns.h - Missing ')'
Greetings! I have an app that builds ad runs just fine in XCode 11 on Catalina on an old Intel MBP. I've recently purchased an M3 Max machine and want to bring this app forward. Just going from XCode 11 to XCode 12 on the old machine, not even trying yet to up to XCode 14 or 15 on the new machine, I get two build errors that I have no idea how to resolve, both in bnns.h. I have not deliberately included this framework, and text search in my project and dependencies finds no incidence of "bnns" at all. These occur in the function prototypes for BNNSApplyMultiheadAttention and BNNSApplyMultiheadAttentionBackward. These prototypes look okay to me, and again I didn't deliberately invoke them in the first place. Does anybody have any idea how I can get past this roadblock? p.s. this is what the first prototype looks like; no unbalanced parens here (spacing edited for readability): int BNNSApplyMultiheadAttention(BNNSFilter F, size_t batch_size, void const* query, size_t query_stride, void const* key, size_t key_stride, BNNSNDArrayDescriptor const* _Nullable key_mask, size_t key_mask_stride, void const* value, size_t value_stride, void *output, size_t output_stride, BNNSNDArrayDescriptor const* _Nullable add_to_attention, size_t * _Nullable backprop_cache_size, void * _Nullable backprop_cache, size_t * _Nullable workspace_size, void * _Nullable workspace)

React-Native app XCode build on IOS
First time user here. Trying to build my React-Native app on xcode. I keep getting "Could not build Module" and "missing package product" and tried many combination for my Podfile. I am on macbook pro M2, XCode version 16.2, building on iphone 16 v18.3.1. Pod version 1.16.2, react-native-cli:2.0.1, Here is my Podfile. Xcode 13 "Missing package product" using local Swift Packages
I have a project I've been working off of for a few years now that makes use of local Swift Packages. In my workspace, I have a "Kit" project that generates a framework using several local Swift Packages as dependencies. In Xcode 12, the local Swift packages resolve correctly and compiles, but each beta of Xcode 13 gives me the error: "[ProjectName].xcodeproj Missing package product '[LocalSwiftPackage]'" Clearing the package cache, derived data, or restarting the application does not resolve the issue. Only Swift Packages that are remotely loaded from a URL are compiled correctly. Using local packages to separate module code, while still being able to edit in the same project, has been essential to my workflow and would hate to see Xcode 13 release with these breaking changes, and I have not seen this issue listed in the known issues for the Xcode 13 release notes. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a workaround?

Xcode 16.0 syntax highlighting and autocompletion is broken for Swift packages with .binaryTarget
Syntax highlighting & code autocompletion is broken for Swift Packages wrapping an underlying binary target. Jump to defenition for module import shows the whole module interface and project builds & archives just fine, but any known workarounds to resurrect syntax assistant won't work without any errors/warnings. Replacing the .binaryTarget() with plain .target() with source code in package dependency brings all assistant features back. Steps to reproduce (project attached): Create a local Swift Package Add a dependency with binary target (for example — AppsFlyerFramework https://github.com/AppsFlyerSDK/AppsFlyerFramework) Try to use dependency product with binary dependency Attempted steps to fix: Full DD clean Full project clean ~15 min to index Xcode 16.0 & Sonoma 14.6.1, problem persists with Xcode16.2 & Sequoia. Probably the longest Apple Developer enrollment process - 423 days
I have submitted an Apple Developer enrollment application on 2024-March-18, and it's still "IS BEING PROCESSED". And I have submitted multiple support tickets and asked for the status, and ALL of the replies are "uNDer rEvIEW". For real? 423 days? How can it possibly take this long? This is beyond unreasonable. I need a real update on my application—enough with the generic responses. My enrollment ID is 7AR6PGYR9R.

Swift project build process is extremely slow after upgrading to 16.3
For an initial launch of Xcode, the GatherProvisioningInputs usually takes 60 seconds for a simple project. Subsequent build is fast though. But the build process seems got stuck at VeryModule of the MyFramework target, which usually takes 15 seconds.

Xcode local documentation location
Where are the local documentation files location on MacOS? None of the existing data on the internet is applicable anymore. Trying to bundle documentation for use in an LLM and the developer site is unusable for crawling. Thanks! *.docset

LiveActivities preview in XCode, Missing 'previewContext'
I'm trying to create a preview for my live activities when it's stale, so I created a preview provider. I followed some examples, but XCode says I'm missing preview context. Am I doing something wrong? I tried adding .previewContext(WidgetPreviewContext(family: .systemSmall)) but that doesn't seem to work.

beginner problem - App fails after a few days
I developed (with AI help) using Xcode an app for myself. It logged certain places visited on a list, with photos and notes. It worked, but after a few days my iPhone can't launch it. What do I have to do to get this to last? I didn't think I needed to pay as this is purely for me.
