StoreKit2.Transaction.updates Returning Large Amounts of Historical Transactions, Causing Verification Traffic Surge
Over the past two days, we've observed an unusual spike in requests from some iOS users to our server endpoint responsible for verifying App Store purchase receipts. After sampling and analyzing the data, we found that the cause is related to the behavior of StoreKit2.Transaction.updates. Specifically, when listening for transaction updates, the system returns a large number of historical transactions — some dating back as far as one year. These callbacks are interpreted as "new" transactions, which in turn trigger repeated calls to Apple’s receipt verification servers, leading to an abnormal surge in traffic and putting pressure on our backend services. This behavior is ongoing and is something we've never encountered in our previous experience. It appears to be outside of expected behavior, and we suspect it may be due to some kind of abnormality or unintended usage scenario. We would appreciate guidance on the following: Is this a known behavior or issue with StoreKit2? Are there specific device states or conditions that could cause the system to emit historical transactions in bulk? Are there any recommended practices for mitigating or filtering such transaction floods? We have attached logs for reference. Failed to get productIdentifier from StoreKit
I am currently developing an auto-renewal subscription in-app purchase for my app. Currently, the subscription items have already been approved in appStoreConnect, and the .store file is synced with appStoreConnect, so the subscription items are displayed well and the test is also progressing well. However, when I build without using the .store file to perform sandbox testing, the subscription items do not appear and response.invalidProductIdentifiers appears. Is there anything I need to do additionally so that the subscription items can appear in response.products? ps. The bank account item in the contract is in 'processing' status, and the paid app contract status is 'waiting for user information'.

My Subscription Screen
Hey everyone, This might be a simple fix that I’m just overlooking, but I’ve been stuck on it for the past 48 hours. The issue is on my subscription screen — after a user completes a successful in-app purchase, the app doesn’t navigate to the main app like it’s supposed to. I’ve added logs, tried various fixes, and even asked AI for help, but nothing has worked. From what I can tell, it seems like my listeners aren’t being registered properly after the transaction. I’ve tried reinitializing them, moving them around, and testing different flows, but still no luck. If anyone has insight into how they’ve set this up or any suggestions I might not have considered, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

How to cancel Auto-renewable subscription bought in TestFlight?
I've read several topics on cancelling subscriptions in sandbox environment, but it seems to me that it could not be applied to TestFlight. I can cancel sandbox subscriptions through Settings > App Store > Sandbox account But since TestFlight does not use sandbox account I cannot cancel a sub from there. Also, TF purchase does not appear in the list of regular subscriptions (Settings > Profile > Media & Purchases). So my question is: is there any way to manually cancel auto-renewable subscription bought in TestFlight build of the app?

AppDistributor.current never returning
I try to access the AppDistributor.current (using try await) and the property never seem to return nor throw. ExternalPurchaseCustomLink.token(for:) returns nil on one TestFlight device (while isEligible == true) — other device gets SERVICES token
I’m implementing StoreKit External Purchase Custom Links (EU) and so far it is really painful. I am running into a strange, device-specific issue. On 3/4 devices it works. On one device I never get a token at launch nor before a transaction. isEligible is true everywhere. All devices have versions 18.5 and are located in Germany. Info.plist: SKExternalPurchaseCustomLinkRegions is set to EU storefront codes and I have followed every step in the documentation: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/externalpurchasecustomlink Good device: At launch → ACQUISITION = nil, SERVICES = token present. Works consistently. Faulty device: At launch → ACQUISITION = nil, SERVICES = nil. Same before transaction. No token ever reaches my server from this device. isEligible is true on both devices. Any experts or help on the matter?

Billing Problem while subscription renewal.
Hello, I'm currently experiencing issues with IAP subscription setup. The following error appears: "Billing Problem, There was a problem with your subscription renewal. To resolve, turn on Allow Purchases & Renewals, or leave off to test failed in-app purchase attempts and subscription renewals." I'm testing with a sandbox account, and automatic subscription renewal is turned on in the sandbox settings. A notification screen appears at the OS level, and consequently, a DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW error occurs on our payment server. I cannot determine the cause at all, so I would appreciate your assistance in checking this issue.

How to test about user refund in sandbox?
My server is able to receive notifications for successful purchases. However, we are experiencing an issue where we do not receive any server notifications when a consumable product is refunded. Could you please help us verify if this behavior is expected? Also, is there a way to trigger a test refund notification for consumable products in the sandbox environment, so we can ensure our server is correctly set up to handle it?

BUG in implemented StoreKit External Link Account API in a Vue + Capacitor app
I would like to clarify that my app is a Reader APP and a hybrid application built with Vue.js and Capacitor. To comply with Apple’s guidelines, I am not using any third-party SDKs for account management or payments. Instead, I am attempting to use the official StoreKit External Link Account API as required. To achieve this, I created a custom native Capacitor plugin in Swift, which calls the StoreKit 2 classes (SKStoreExternalLinkAccountRequest and SKStoreExternalLinkAccountViewController) to present the required modal before redirecting users to manage their accounts externally. However, I am encountering a technical issue: When building the app in Xcode 16 (with iOS Deployment Target set to 16+), the Swift compiler cannot find the StoreKit 2 classes (SKStoreExternalLinkAccountRequest and SKStoreExternalLinkAccountViewController). I have attached a screenshot showing the error in Xcode. Could you please clarify if there are any additional requirements or steps needed to access these StoreKit 2 APIs in a hybrid (Capacitor/Vue) app? Is there any limitation for hybrid apps, or is there a specific configuration needed in Xcode or the project to make these APIs available? Unable to Authenticate with App Store Server API in Production (401 Error)
Our application is currently under review, and we are still facing issues because we receive a 401 Unauthorized response from the App Store Connect API when using the production environment. Our app integrates with Chargebee for subscription management, and in production, Chargebee is unable to authenticate with the App Store Server API. This results in a 401 Unauthorized error, preventing the user’s subscription from being synced correctly into our system. Interestingly, the same configuration works in the sandbox environment, but fails in production. We’ve tried authenticating using JWTs generated from multiple keys (including App Store Connect API / Team Keys with both Admin and App Manager access, and also In-App Purchase keys), all with the same result — sandbox access works, production does not. AppStore.sync() not restoring purchases
On an app that was using the old API for In-App Purchases (StoreKit 1). The app is already published on the App Store. The purchase is non-consumable. While trying to migrate to StoreKit 2, I'm unable to restore purchases. Specifically displaying and purchasing products works as expected, but when deleting and reinstalling the app, and then trying to restore purchases I can't do it. I'm trying to restore them using the new APIs but it doesn't seem to be working. What I have tried so far: I'm listening for transaction updates during the whole lifetime of the app, with: Task.detached { for await result in Transaction.updates { if case let .verified(safe) = result { } } } I have a button that calls this method, but other than prompting to log in again with the Apple ID it doesn't seem to have any effect at all: try? await AppStore.sync() This doesn't return any item for await result in Transaction.currentEntitlements { if case let .verified(transaction) = result { } } This doesn't return any item for await result in Transaction.all { if case let .verified(transaction) = result { } } As mentioned before I'm trying this after purchasing the item and deleting the app. So I'm sure it should be able to restore the purchase. Am trying this both with a Configuration.storekit file on the simulator, and without it on a real device, in the Sandbox Environment. Has anyone being able to restore purchases using StoreKit 2? PD: I already filed a feedback report on Feedback Assistant, but so far the only thing that they have replied is: Because StoreKit Testing in Xcode is a local environment, and the data is tied to the app, when you delete the app you're also deleting all the transaction data for that app in the Xcode environment. The code snippets provided are correct usage of the API. So yes, using a Configuration.storekit file won't work on restoring purchases, but if I can't restore them on the Sandbox Environment I'm afraid that this won't work once released, leaving my users totally unable to restore what they have already purchased.

StoreKit 2 Sandbox Testing - Product not found
Hi, I've been unable to successfully test in the sandbox environment for a StoreKit 2 subscription group and can't seem to find the missing piece. I am calling the following line of code: let products = try await Product.products(for: [subscriptionID]) Expected behavior: The product is returned in the products array. Actual result: The array is empty I have done the following: Successfully tested our logic using a storekit configuration file locally in Xcode. Created the Subscription group in App Store Connect. The subscription product is currently "Waiting for Review", but it is our first so will not be approved without being attached to a distribution build review. Created a Sandbox user account in App Store Connect -> Users -> Sandbox Signed into the sandbox user account in Settings -> Developer -> Sandbox Apple Account Signed the Paid Apps Agreement for our organization A few debugging notes: I deleted all apps before installing from Xcode I've tried both locally and in TestFlight builds Restarted my device Verified productID matches the productID in App Store Connect I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but any help would be appreciated. Purchase Confirmation Letter
Hi all, I've received emails from other apps after making a purchase, with content like: You have purchased {App Name} on {Date & Time} and acknowledged that if you download or use this in-App Purchase within fourteen days of buying it, you will no longer be eligible to cancel this purchase. Do anyone know under what circumstances Apple sends a Purchase Confirmation Letter to the user's email after they purchase our digital products via IAP? Is this something developers can control? Additionally, I've seen pop-up reminders before making a payment in apps, with content similar to the above message. Are these reminders provided by Apple, or can developers create their own guidance to help users avoid accidental purchases? Kindly, Vanto

can not verify receipt
I have three questions about verify receipt I use this api (https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt)to verify receipt is success or not. But since last month, this interface has started to return an error(21002). I see this document (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstorereceipts/verifyreceipt) say its Deprecated. My question is, is the error suddenly returned recently because the interface has been deprecated or for some other reason? (I haven't modified my code about this recently) I can not understand this document: (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstorereceipts/validating_receipts_on_the_device) Does this mean that in the new version, as long as the app returns a payment success (purchaseDetails.status == PurchaseStatus.purchased), the payment is guaranteed to be successful, and my server does not need to request payment result verification from Apple's server? InvalidRequestError on iOS 18.4
We’ve recently encountered an increased rate of purchase errors StoreKit.InvalidRequestError error 1 (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/invalidrequesterror) specifically on iOS 18.4. We suspect this might be related to the new Advanced Commerce API introduced by Apple, although we haven’t made any changes related to this API in our app. Have you experienced similar issues since the release of iOS 18.4 or when integrating the Advanced Commerce API? Screen Rocorder plus Front Camera
I want to build an app for ios using react native. preferably expo. The app will be for recording user experiences with technology. the SLUDGE that they face while navigating through technology. I want to have basic login, signup. The main feature would be to have 2 recording modes. First is record the screen and the front camera simultaneously. Second is to record the back camera and the front camera simultaneously. I can then patch the two outputs later on that is the screen recording and the front camera clip in post processing. I want to know if this is possible as I was told that react native and expo does not have the support yet. if not is there any library or another approach to make this app come alive.

Inconsistent behavior with transactionId and appAccountToken in iOS Sandbox purchases (StoreKit1 & StoreKit2)
Hi, I'm reaching out to report a recurring issue with in-app purchases on iOS that seems to be related to Apple’s transaction handling — not to third-party libraries. In my Flutter application, I use both StoreKit2 and StoreKit1 (for comparison) via different packages, including the official in_app_purchase package. However, in both cases, I’m experiencing unexpected reuse of transactionId and appTransactionId values, even when initiating fresh purchases with unique appAccountToken values. Problem Summary: Purchase Stream Returns Old Purchases When calling buyNonConsumable() with a new product, the purchase stream still returns data for a previously purchased product, despite clearing all Sandbox transactions and using a new applicationUserName for each attempt. Transaction IDs Reused Across Distinct Purchases Even when generating a new UUID for appAccountToken on each purchase, the returned appTransactionId and transactionId are reused — this breaks our server-side logic, which expects these fields to uniquely identify purchases and users. When using StoreKit1, the productId updates properly, but the transactionId still matches the previous one. This behavior also affects App Store Server Notifications (V2): we have observed notifications tied to appAccountTokens from completely different user accounts (based on internal logs), sometimes delayed by days or weeks. I’ve prepared a reproducible example using the official Flutter in_app_purchase sample with minimal changes — you can find it here: Github gist The code is almost identical to the package example. I only added UUID generation for applicationUserName in _getToken(). In the actual app (not in this example), I retrieve the token from an API. Additional Observations from the Community: We’ve also found similar issues reported in other frameworks and languages. For instance, a developer using react-native-iap observed that App Store Server Notifications in TestFlight were tied to previously deleted users, even after signing up with a new user account and generating a new appAccountToken. Details here: User A deleted → User B signs up → receives upgrade event with User A’s token Notification uses appAccountToken from old account, not the new one This strengthens the suspicion that the issue may be related to how Apple associates transactions with Apple IDs in test environments. Questions: Is it expected for transactionId or appTransactionId to persist across purchases within the same Apple ID, even for different user contexts (e.g., separate logins in the same app)? Is there any official recommendation for avoiding this kind of data reuse in Sandbox or TestFlight environments? Should I expect appAccountToken in server notifications to always match the latest value provided during the purchase? Thank you in advance for your assistance. subscriptions before submitting a review
We distribute apps that offer auto-renewing subscriptions. In order to test a new service, we would like to create a new subscription group and subscription product (hereinafter referred to as “test subscription”) for this app. If the “In-app purchase statuses” of the test subscription is “Ready to Submit” is the following behavior correct? ・General end users cannot purchase the test subscription. ・Users with SANDBOX Apple accounts can purchase the test subscription.

iOS misleading users with payment notification timing
I'm getting really frustrated with emails from my App users who believe they've been charged for a free in-app purchase when they haven't. My App offers many in-app purchases of digital items and I give 4 of these away for free to let users get comfortable with how it works in-app. Over the last couple of years I've had a steady increase in angry emails from users who accuse me of fraud by charging them for a free item. I couldn't figure out for a while what this was as they would leave a 1 star rating, delete the app and ignore my emails for more information. Recently I had someone a bit more patient engage and explain it to me. The purchase for some reason popped up on my notifications right when I bought the [Free Item in my app]. It was from a movie I bought and the bill was delayed. The timing of that notification is what is misleading users about the free in-app purchase. Can someone take note of this please and perhaps delay any payment notifications so they aren't sent when the in-app purchase is for FREE? Thanks!

Failed to get productIdentifier from StoreKit
I am currently developing an auto-renewal subscription in-app purchase for my app. Currently, the subscription items have already been approved in appStoreConnect, and the .store file is synced with appStoreConnect, so the subscription items are displayed well and the test is also progressing well. However, when I build without using the .store file to perform sandbox testing, the subscription items do not appear and response.invalidProductIdentifiers appears. Is there anything I need to do additionally so that the subscription items can appear in response.products? ps. The bank account item in the contract is in 'processing' status, and the paid app contract status is 'waiting for user information'.

My Subscription Screen
Hey everyone, This might be a simple fix that I’m just overlooking, but I’ve been stuck on it for the past 48 hours. The issue is on my subscription screen — after a user completes a successful in-app purchase, the app doesn’t navigate to the main app like it’s supposed to. I’ve added logs, tried various fixes, and even asked AI for help, but nothing has worked. From what I can tell, it seems like my listeners aren’t being registered properly after the transaction. I’ve tried reinitializing them, moving them around, and testing different flows, but still no luck. If anyone has insight into how they’ve set this up or any suggestions I might not have considered, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

How to cancel Auto-renewable subscription bought in TestFlight?
I've read several topics on cancelling subscriptions in sandbox environment, but it seems to me that it could not be applied to TestFlight. I can cancel sandbox subscriptions through Settings > App Store > Sandbox account But since TestFlight does not use sandbox account I cannot cancel a sub from there. Also, TF purchase does not appear in the list of regular subscriptions (Settings > Profile > Media & Purchases). So my question is: is there any way to manually cancel auto-renewable subscription bought in TestFlight build of the app?

AppDistributor.current never returning
I try to access the AppDistributor.current (using try await) and the property never seem to return nor throw. ExternalPurchaseCustomLink.token(for:) returns nil on one TestFlight device (while isEligible == true) — other device gets SERVICES token
I’m implementing StoreKit External Purchase Custom Links (EU) and so far it is really painful. I am running into a strange, device-specific issue. On 3/4 devices it works. On one device I never get a token at launch nor before a transaction. isEligible is true everywhere. All devices have versions 18.5 and are located in Germany. Info.plist: SKExternalPurchaseCustomLinkRegions is set to EU storefront codes and I have followed every step in the documentation: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/externalpurchasecustomlink Good device: At launch → ACQUISITION = nil, SERVICES = token present. Works consistently. Faulty device: At launch → ACQUISITION = nil, SERVICES = nil. Same before transaction. No token ever reaches my server from this device. isEligible is true on both devices. Any experts or help on the matter?

Billing Problem while subscription renewal.
Hello, I'm currently experiencing issues with IAP subscription setup. The following error appears: "Billing Problem, There was a problem with your subscription renewal. To resolve, turn on Allow Purchases & Renewals, or leave off to test failed in-app purchase attempts and subscription renewals." I'm testing with a sandbox account, and automatic subscription renewal is turned on in the sandbox settings. A notification screen appears at the OS level, and consequently, a DID_FAIL_TO_RENEW error occurs on our payment server. I cannot determine the cause at all, so I would appreciate your assistance in checking this issue.

How to test about user refund in sandbox?
My server is able to receive notifications for successful purchases. However, we are experiencing an issue where we do not receive any server notifications when a consumable product is refunded. Could you please help us verify if this behavior is expected? Also, is there a way to trigger a test refund notification for consumable products in the sandbox environment, so we can ensure our server is correctly set up to handle it?

BUG in implemented StoreKit External Link Account API in a Vue + Capacitor app
I would like to clarify that my app is a Reader APP and a hybrid application built with Vue.js and Capacitor. To comply with Apple’s guidelines, I am not using any third-party SDKs for account management or payments. Instead, I am attempting to use the official StoreKit External Link Account API as required. To achieve this, I created a custom native Capacitor plugin in Swift, which calls the StoreKit 2 classes (SKStoreExternalLinkAccountRequest and SKStoreExternalLinkAccountViewController) to present the required modal before redirecting users to manage their accounts externally. However, I am encountering a technical issue: When building the app in Xcode 16 (with iOS Deployment Target set to 16+), the Swift compiler cannot find the StoreKit 2 classes (SKStoreExternalLinkAccountRequest and SKStoreExternalLinkAccountViewController). I have attached a screenshot showing the error in Xcode. Could you please clarify if there are any additional requirements or steps needed to access these StoreKit 2 APIs in a hybrid (Capacitor/Vue) app? Is there any limitation for hybrid apps, or is there a specific configuration needed in Xcode or the project to make these APIs available? Unable to Authenticate with App Store Server API in Production (401 Error)
Our application is currently under review, and we are still facing issues because we receive a 401 Unauthorized response from the App Store Connect API when using the production environment. Our app integrates with Chargebee for subscription management, and in production, Chargebee is unable to authenticate with the App Store Server API. This results in a 401 Unauthorized error, preventing the user’s subscription from being synced correctly into our system. Interestingly, the same configuration works in the sandbox environment, but fails in production. We’ve tried authenticating using JWTs generated from multiple keys (including App Store Connect API / Team Keys with both Admin and App Manager access, and also In-App Purchase keys), all with the same result — sandbox access works, production does not. AppStore.sync() not restoring purchases
On an app that was using the old API for In-App Purchases (StoreKit 1). The app is already published on the App Store. The purchase is non-consumable. While trying to migrate to StoreKit 2, I'm unable to restore purchases. Specifically displaying and purchasing products works as expected, but when deleting and reinstalling the app, and then trying to restore purchases I can't do it. I'm trying to restore them using the new APIs but it doesn't seem to be working. What I have tried so far: I'm listening for transaction updates during the whole lifetime of the app, with: Task.detached { for await result in Transaction.updates { if case let .verified(safe) = result { } } } I have a button that calls this method, but other than prompting to log in again with the Apple ID it doesn't seem to have any effect at all: try? await AppStore.sync() This doesn't return any item for await result in Transaction.currentEntitlements { if case let .verified(transaction) = result { } } This doesn't return any item for await result in Transaction.all { if case let .verified(transaction) = result { } } As mentioned before I'm trying this after purchasing the item and deleting the app. So I'm sure it should be able to restore the purchase. Am trying this both with a Configuration.storekit file on the simulator, and without it on a real device, in the Sandbox Environment. Has anyone being able to restore purchases using StoreKit 2? PD: I already filed a feedback report on Feedback Assistant, but so far the only thing that they have replied is: Because StoreKit Testing in Xcode is a local environment, and the data is tied to the app, when you delete the app you're also deleting all the transaction data for that app in the Xcode environment. The code snippets provided are correct usage of the API. So yes, using a Configuration.storekit file won't work on restoring purchases, but if I can't restore them on the Sandbox Environment I'm afraid that this won't work once released, leaving my users totally unable to restore what they have already purchased.

StoreKit 2 Sandbox Testing - Product not found
Hi, I've been unable to successfully test in the sandbox environment for a StoreKit 2 subscription group and can't seem to find the missing piece. I am calling the following line of code: let products = try await Product.products(for: [subscriptionID]) Expected behavior: The product is returned in the products array. Actual result: The array is empty I have done the following: Successfully tested our logic using a storekit configuration file locally in Xcode. Created the Subscription group in App Store Connect. The subscription product is currently "Waiting for Review", but it is our first so will not be approved without being attached to a distribution build review. Created a Sandbox user account in App Store Connect -> Users -> Sandbox Signed into the sandbox user account in Settings -> Developer -> Sandbox Apple Account Signed the Paid Apps Agreement for our organization A few debugging notes: I deleted all apps before installing from Xcode I've tried both locally and in TestFlight builds Restarted my device Verified productID matches the productID in App Store Connect I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but any help would be appreciated. Purchase Confirmation Letter
Hi all, I've received emails from other apps after making a purchase, with content like: You have purchased {App Name} on {Date & Time} and acknowledged that if you download or use this in-App Purchase within fourteen days of buying it, you will no longer be eligible to cancel this purchase. Do anyone know under what circumstances Apple sends a Purchase Confirmation Letter to the user's email after they purchase our digital products via IAP? Is this something developers can control? Additionally, I've seen pop-up reminders before making a payment in apps, with content similar to the above message. Are these reminders provided by Apple, or can developers create their own guidance to help users avoid accidental purchases? Kindly, Vanto

can not verify receipt
I have three questions about verify receipt I use this api (https://buy.itunes.apple.com/verifyReceipt)to verify receipt is success or not. But since last month, this interface has started to return an error(21002). I see this document (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstorereceipts/verifyreceipt) say its Deprecated. My question is, is the error suddenly returned recently because the interface has been deprecated or for some other reason? (I haven't modified my code about this recently) I can not understand this document: (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/appstorereceipts/validating_receipts_on_the_device) Does this mean that in the new version, as long as the app returns a payment success (purchaseDetails.status == PurchaseStatus.purchased), the payment is guaranteed to be successful, and my server does not need to request payment result verification from Apple's server? We’ve recently encountered an increased rate of purchase errors StoreKit.InvalidRequestError error 1 (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/invalidrequesterror) specifically on iOS 18.4. Screen Rocorder plus Front Camera
I want to build an app for ios using react native. preferably expo. The app will be for recording user experiences with technology. the SLUDGE that they face while navigating through technology. I want to have basic login, signup. The main feature would be to have 2 recording modes. First is record the screen and the front camera simultaneously. Second is to record the back camera and the front camera simultaneously. I can then patch the two outputs later on that is the screen recording and the front camera clip in post processing. I want to know if this is possible as I was told that react native and expo does not have the support yet. if not is there any library or another approach to make this app come alive.

Inconsistent behavior with transactionId and appAccountToken in iOS Sandbox purchases (StoreKit1 & StoreKit2)
Hi, I'm reaching out to report a recurring issue with in-app purchases on iOS that seems to be related to Apple’s transaction handling — not to third-party libraries. In my Flutter application, I use both StoreKit2 and StoreKit1 (for comparison) via different packages, including the official in_app_purchase package. However, in both cases, I’m experiencing unexpected reuse of transactionId and appTransactionId values, even when initiating fresh purchases with unique appAccountToken values. Problem Summary: Purchase Stream Returns Old Purchases When calling buyNonConsumable() with a new product, the purchase stream still returns data for a previously purchased product, despite clearing all Sandbox transactions and using a new applicationUserName for each attempt. Transaction IDs Reused Across Distinct Purchases Even when generating a new UUID for appAccountToken on each purchase, the returned appTransactionId and transactionId are reused — this breaks our server-side logic, which expects these fields to uniquely identify purchases and users. When using StoreKit1, the productId updates properly, but the transactionId still matches the previous one. This behavior also affects App Store Server Notifications (V2): we have observed notifications tied to appAccountTokens from completely different user accounts (based on internal logs), sometimes delayed by days or weeks. I’ve prepared a reproducible example using the official Flutter in_app_purchase sample with minimal changes — you can find it here: Github gist The code is almost identical to the package example. I only added UUID generation for applicationUserName in _getToken(). In the actual app (not in this example), I retrieve the token from an API. Additional Observations from the Community: We’ve also found similar issues reported in other frameworks and languages. For instance, a developer using react-native-iap observed that App Store Server Notifications in TestFlight were tied to previously deleted users, even after signing up with a new user account and generating a new appAccountToken. Details here: User A deleted → User B signs up → receives upgrade event with User A’s token Notification uses appAccountToken from old account, not the new one This strengthens the suspicion that the issue may be related to how Apple associates transactions with Apple IDs in test environments. Questions: Is it expected for transactionId or appTransactionId to persist across purchases within the same Apple ID, even for different user contexts (e.g., separate logins in the same app)? Is there any official recommendation for avoiding this kind of data reuse in Sandbox or TestFlight environments? Should I expect appAccountToken in server notifications to always match the latest value provided during the purchase? Thank you in advance for your assistance. In order to test a new service, we would like to create a new subscription group and subscription product (hereinafter referred to as “test subscription”) for this app. If the “In-app purchase statuses” of the test subscription is “Ready to Submit” is the following behavior correct? ・General end users cannot purchase the test subscription. ・Users with SANDBOX Apple accounts can purchase the test subscription.

iOS misleading users with payment notification timing
I'm getting really frustrated with emails from my App users who believe they've been charged for a free in-app purchase when they haven't. My App offers many in-app purchases of digital items and I give 4 of these away for free to let users get comfortable with how it works in-app. Over the last couple of years I've had a steady increase in angry emails from users who accuse me of fraud by charging them for a free item. I couldn't figure out for a while what this was as they would leave a 1 star rating, delete the app and ignore my emails for more information. Recently I had someone a bit more patient engage and explain it to me. The purchase for some reason popped up on my notifications right when I bought the [Free Item in my app]. It was from a movie I bought and the bill was delayed. The timing of that notification is what is misleading users about the free in-app purchase. Can someone take note of this please and perhaps delay any payment notifications so they aren't sent when the in-app purchase is for FREE? Thanks!
