The home AppIcon appears as it should but in settings I get the generic icon. I tried:
giving the extension its own assets and AppIcon asset.
giving the main app assets 2 targets, itself AND the extension
setting AppIcon appearances to "none" and iOS "all sizes" and providing 29pt and the other sizes.
Adding to info.plist and specifying "CFBundleIconFiles"
Yes, nuked derived data, switched off phone, everything.
Starting with just the standard 1024×1024 AppIcon (expecting Xcode to auto-generate all slices, including 29pt for Settings). It didn’t — Settings still shows the generic gear.
Question: What should I do to make the extension’s icon show up in Settings?
Environment
• Xcode: 16.4 (16F6)
• iOS: 18.5 (device)
• Targets: iOS app + Call Directory extension
• App icon pipeline: asset catalog (single-size initially, now legacy grid)

I ave an application that makes use of charts. I would like to have a button for the user to save the chart as a PDF. I tried to have the button save the PDF to the user's document directory directly. That attempt failed. But I was able to save the PDF to the application sandboxed documents directory. The question is how to programmatically move that file from the application documents folder to the user's general documents folder. So far I have not been able to find a method that will move the PDF file. Any ideas?
Hi everyone,
I am new to Apply Pay, but I have already implemented IAP for subscriptions in my app. My app also has other functionalities, it also acts as a person-to-person marketplace, as users can post events or online courses which can be bought by other users to participate.
My question is that I have read Apple's review guidelines but it is still unclear for me if I can use Apple Pay (with for example Stripe) or do I still need to use IAP for this online content.
Also non profit organizations also can register which can recieve donations, can I also use Apple Pay for that or do I still need IAP there, because it would be nice if Apple would take 30% of donations.

HealthKit is currently not supported on macOS nor tvOS, despite being supported by visionOS. Support for macOS was last asked about[1] here in 2018.
My goal is to display interactive data visualisations over workouts collected in HealthKit on macOS. Will this be possible to do in the near future using HealthKit directly?
If not, can I somehow read the information from an iPhone and display it on the mac?
Cheers,
Rodrigo

My entity has a startDate (NSTime) attribute where I use the date and time in my detail display of the entity.
And in my list, I need to group my entities by day (YYMMDD) based on the start date; and I want to ensure that it can adapt to the region where the user is currently (e.g. if user travels or migrate, the YYMMDD should be adapted based on the current region). Does Core Data SectionedFetchRequest supports strftime() functions from SQLite (https://sqlite.org/lang_datefunc.html) or what is an effective alternative sectioned fetch in my case?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working on migrating my app (SwimTimes, which helps swimmers track their times) to use Core Data + CKSyncEngine with Swift 6.
After many iterations, forum searches, and experimentation, I’ve created a focused sample project that demonstrates the architecture I’m using.
The good news:
👉 I believe the crashes I was experiencing are now solved, and the sync behavior is working correctly.
👉 The demo project compiles and runs cleanly with Swift 6.
However, before adopting this as the final architecture, I’d like to ask the community (and hopefully Apple engineers) to validate a few critical points, especially regarding Swift 6 concurrency and Core Data contexts.
Architecture Overview
Persistence layer: Persistence.swift sets up the Core Data stack with a main viewContext and a background context for CKSyncEngine.
Repositories: All Core Data access is abstracted into repository classes (UsersRepository, SwimTimesRepository), with async/await methods.
SyncEngine: Wraps CKSyncEngine, handles system fields, sync tokens, and bridging between Core Data entities and CloudKit records.
ViewModels: Marked @MainActor, exposing @Published arrays for SwiftUI. They never touch Core Data directly, only via repositories.
UI: Simple SwiftUI views bound to the ViewModels.
Entities:
UserEntity → represents swimmers.
SwimTimeEntity → times linked to a user (1-to-many).
Current Status
The project works and syncs across devices. But there are two open concerns I’d like validated:
Concurrency & Memory Safety
Am I correctly separating viewContext (main/UI) vs. background context (used by CKSyncEngine)?
Could there still be hidden risks of race conditions or memory crashes that I’m not catching?
Swift 6 Sendable Compliance
Currently, I still need @unchecked Sendable in the SyncEngine and repository layers.
What is the recommended way to fully remove these workarounds and make the code safe under Swift 6’s stricter concurrency rules?
Request
Please review this sample project and confirm whether the concurrency model is correct.
Suggest how I can remove the @unchecked Sendable annotations safely.
Any additional code improvements or best practices would also be very welcome — the intention is to share this as a community resource.
I believe once finalized, this could serve as a good reference demo for Core Data + CKSyncEngine + Swift 6, helping others migrate safely.
Environment
iOS 18.5
Xcode 16.4
macOS 15.6
Swift 6

hi, when i test an in app purchase with my sandbox acount i get:
"ask permission. a request to buy ** will be sent to your parent or gardian
(environment: sandbox)"
When i made the sandbox account, i didnt see any option to set my age. What am i missing here, I dont seem to be able to fully test in app purchases since my sandbox accounts always defualt to this family sharing thing?
Thanks

If a user selects custom structured workout in the apple watch Workout app and records a run with intervals, how can my third party app pull in that data?
I can obviously get the workout and health stuff like heart rate, but I cannot find how to save the intervals and the relevant data.
The workout events are not seemingly helpful - segments are not obviously related to this.
Is it possible? Is it only possible to have the third party app create a customworkout with metadata and then our third party app parses the interval distance/time based on our own structure?
I think this stuff should be able to be accessed.
Hello, everyone!
I'm seeking some guidance on the App Store review process and technical best practices for a watchOS app.
My goal is to create an app that uses HealthKit to continuously monitor a user's heart rate in the background for sessions lasting between 30 minutes and 3 hours. This app would not be a fitness or workout tracker.
My primary question is about the best way to achieve this reliably while staying within the App Store Review Guidelines.
Is it advisable to use the WorkoutKit framework to start a custom, non-fitness "session" for the purpose of continuous background monitoring?
Are there any other recommended APIs or frameworks for this kind of background data collection on watchOS that I should be aware of?
What are the key review considerations I should be mindful of, particularly regarding Guideline 4.1 (Design) and the intended use of APIs?
My app's core functionality would require this kind of data for a beneficial purpose. I want to ensure my approach is technically sound and has the best chance of a successful review.
Any insights or advice from developers who have experience with similar use cases would be incredibly helpful!
Thank you!

I am working on enabling app clip experience for one of our products, where App X would use default appclip url of App Y to launch an experiences using UIApplication.shared.open(defaultAppclipUrl).
Im successfully able to build and submit to appstore by testing via local expereince, but later noticed a strange behaviour in production without local expereince setup, where tapping a button in App X (with default appclip url) fails to launch the appclip for the first time but loads fine from the second try.
I learned that in background Apple would make a API call to fetch details about app clip availability in store and then proceed to launch app clip locally, hence the delay->timeout->failure for first tap.
Once the invocation starts working it would be consistent. After couple of minutes of break say 20m, it again fails for 1st time. I'm assuming that iOS is invalidating the cache on device regarding availability of appclip in store and hence the API call is made again and there is a delay and failure.
can you please help us with this issue.
I'm debugging the following kernel panic to do with my custom filesystem KEXT:
panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffe004cae3e24): [kalloc.type.var4.128]: element modified after free (off:96, val:0x00000000ffffffff, sz:128, ptr:0xfffffe2e7c639600)
My reading of this is that somewhere in my KEXT I'm holding a reference 0xfffffe2e7c639600 to a 128 byte zone that wrote 0x00000000ffffffff at offset 96 after that particular chunk of memory had been released and zeroed out by the kernel.
The panic itself is emitted when my KEXT requests the memory chunk that's been tempered with via the following set of calls.
zalloc_uaf_panic()
__abortlike
static void
zalloc_uaf_panic(zone_t z, uintptr_t elem, size_t size)
{
...
(panic)("[%s%s]: element modified after free "
"(off:%d, val:0x%016lx, sz:%d, ptr:%p)%s",
zone_heap_name(z), zone_name(z),
first_offs, first_bits, esize, (void *)elem, buf);
...
}
zalloc_validate_element()
static void
zalloc_validate_element(
zone_t zone,
vm_offset_t elem,
vm_size_t size,
zalloc_flags_t flags)
{
...
if (memcmp_zero_ptr_aligned((void *)elem, size)) {
zalloc_uaf_panic(zone, elem, size);
}
...
}
The panic is triggered if memcmp_zero_ptr_aligned(), which is implemented in assembly, detects that an n-sized chunk of memory has been written after being free'd.
/* memcmp_zero_ptr_aligned() checks string s of n bytes contains all zeros.
* Address and size of the string s must be pointer-aligned.
* Return 0 if true, 1 otherwise. Also return 0 if n is 0.
*/
extern int
memcmp_zero_ptr_aligned(const void *s, size_t n);
Normally, KASAN would be resorted to to aid with that.
The KDK README states that KASAN kernels won't load on Apple Silicon.
Attempting to follow the instructions given in the README for Intel-based machines does result in a failure for me on Apple Silicon.
I stumbled on the Pishi project.
But the custom boot kernel collection that gets created doesn't have any of the KEXTs that were specified to kmutil(8) via the --explicit-only flag, so it can't be instrumented in Ghidra.
Which is confirmed as well by running:
% kmutil inspect -B boot.kc.kasan
boot kernel collection at /Users/user/boot.kc.kasan

Hi 🙋
Has anybody gotten subtitles in macOS Tahoe Control Widgets to show up in their custom control widgets? Seems macOS is able to do it (see attached screenshot of the Bluetooth control widget), but my widget, which shows a title and subtitle on iOS, will only show the title on macOS.
I tried all the different ControlWidgetButton init methods to no avail. I tried a VStack for my title and subtitle Texts, I tried just two Texts without a VStack, I tried the controlWidgetStatus and controlWidgetActionHint modifiers out of desperation... nothing worked.
Any pointers much appreciated!
Thank you,

I am looking into the new CarPlay support for systemSmall widgets introduced in iOS 26 (Apple documentation).
I am trying to figure out if there is a way to programmatically detect whether the widget is currently being displayed on the iPhone/iPad home/lock screen or in CarPlay.
So far, I haven’t found any information in the documentation or APIs that indicate how to distinguish between these environments. Is there an API, environment value, or best practice for handling this scenario?
Thanks in advance for any insights!
Hi,
I have created an application for NFC tag scanning and read the tag data. For that,
i enabled the capability: NearField Communication Tag reading.
Then I added 2 tag formats in the entitlement
then i added info.plist:

Hi support,
Since June 26th 2025 we are experiencing an issue with the ApplePay SSL server certificate installed on our servers in Production environment.
We are facing an exception error during the initializing of a payment session while calling the url:
https://apple-pay-gateway.apple.com/paymentservices/startSession
The exception is Untrusted Server Certificate Chain:
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: Untrusted Server Certificate Chain

at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.fatal(SSLSocketImpl.java:1915)

at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.startHandshake(SSLSocketImpl.java:1370)
at sun.security.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.startHandshake(SSLSocketImpl.java:1354)
It seems that the issue occurs randomly: we are experiencing this exception on most of our payment transactions, but there are some cases of users that have correctly paid on our site using this method and in those cases this error did not appear.
We installed the new certificate on our servers on July 3rd 2025 and renewed on Aug 7th 2025.
The new certificate validity is:
Not Before: Aug 6 18:43:52 2025 GMT
Not After : Nov 4 18:08:57 2025 GMT
I must specify that this issue is blocking the correct placement of AppleyPay orders of our customers.
Can you please help us find the problem and a possible solution?

Hello,
I am developing a messaging filtering app (F-Secre) that includes a Message Filter Extension. The extension correctly identifies and filters spam SMS/iMessage.
In iOS 18, when a message was filtered into the Junk folder, the Messages app would correctly display a label beneath it indicating it was filtered by our product, e.g., “Junk filtered by F-Secre”.
After updating to the iOS 26 beta (26.0 (23A5330a)), the filtering functionality itself still works—messages are correctly moved to the Junk folder. However, the branding attribution ("filtered by F-Secre") is now missing. The message appears in the Junk folder with no indication of which extension filtered it.
This is a regression in user experience, as it removes visibility and credit for our app's work and might confuse users about whether the filtering system is active.
Users have been reporting that the TestFlight version of my app (compiled with Xcode 26 Beta 6 17A5305f) is sometimes crashing on startup. Upon investigating their ips files, it looks like Core Data is locking up internally during its initialization, resulting in iOS killing my app. I have not recently changed my Core Data initialization logic, and it's unclear how I should proceed.
Is this a known issue? Any recommended workaround? I have attached the crash stack below.
Thanks!

Hello!
I'm working on a mobile app that communicates with a peripheral via Bluetooth with security level 2 in a customised way, as there are also other communication protocols used.
We use a bluetooth service with a specific UUID that has a write characteristic for sending data to the device and a notify characteristic for receiving data from the device.
After connecting for the first time, a pairing prompt appears after successful connection and subscribing to notifications.
When all is set, that is notifications are enabled, a handshake is performed and a communication session is established. There can be only one session for a bluetooth connection.
So I have two questions:
Regarding the pairing, is there any way that I can know the result of the pairing, so that I could start the handshake after it is accepted? What could be the best approach here? Asking because I noticed some instability on first connection (peripheral ignoring handshake).
After disconnecting using Core Bluetooth, the system maintains the connection for some time before actually disconnecting. When opening the app shortly after killing the previous instance, it gets connected very quickly as it reuses the existing connection. The problem is, however, that the device wouldn't accept the new handshake and it is pretty much impossible to reuse previous session. In our use case we need a new BLE connection for each session. Is there any way I could forcibly disconnect from the device or enforce a new connection (not a reused one)? What might be the best approach here?
The way I handle it now is by using retrieveConnectedPeripherals and if the device is found to be connected, I use scanning. If the device is advertising then we know it's not connected. Other than that we could also poll retrieveConnectedPeripherals and wait. But obviously it is not optimal, as the user has to wait longer than ususal.
Other than that retrievePeripherals is used for getting the peripheral, if the app once found it during scanning.
I saw this post describing similar issue, is it the only solution to implement API for disconnecting on the peripheral side?
Could you tell me about the specifications of the winback offer?
If a user is eligible for the winback offer, will the winback offer sheet be displayed every time the app is launched?
Or will the OS adjust the display frequency in some way?

We have Wallet and Watch application on iPhone.
Both of them can add card and then waiting for activation.
However, When the same card is added to Wallet and Watch respectively, waiting for the app-to-app mode to be activated.
Client doesn't aware the source application.
Because deeplink is exactly the same.
Any adivse how does the client have to choose which card to activate?
