Slow app launch time
Hello, We are experiencing slow launch time indicators in our performance monitoring tools(Crashlytics/DataDog/Xcode), and trying to understand what is the best approach to reduce it. Currently, cold launch takes ~900ms on iPhone 16 Pro , but ~2s on iPhone 11. Profiling app launch detected that most of the time is spend on loading the libraries. Our app is massive, we use a total of ~40 3rd parties libraries + 10 internal libraries. We enabled the "mergeable libraries" XCode new feature however the app launch is as written above. We also postponed some of the work in didFinishLaunch, which help a bit... But maybe we are trying to achieve the impossible? Could it be that large apps just can't reach the golden 500ms goal? Currently we are trying to create an "umbrella" library for all the third parties in order to force them to become part of the mergeable libraries. We would like to know if, are we on the right track?

Live Activity don't show properly in Apple Watch
I'm facing an issue with Live Activity on the Apple Watch. I followed all the configurations outlined in Apple's official documentation, but during testing, I noticed inconsistent behavior. Some devices can display the Live Activity on the Apple Watch without any issues, while others can only see it on the iPhone, even though they are running the same system version. I've already checked the permissions, and everything is set up correctly, but I still haven't found what might be causing this difference. Has anyone experienced something similar or has any debugging suggestions?

Issue with Live CallerID URL Caching
I've been testing the Live CallerID feature using the Apple-provided local server example - live-caller-id-lookup-example. I've been running a local server with tunneling using ngrok for the initial setup. Everything was working perfectly with the following setup: @main final class CallerID: LiveCallerIDLookupProtocol { var context: LiveCallerIDLookupExtensionContext { LiveCallerIDLookupExtensionContext( serviceURL: URL(string: "https://example-tunnel.ngrok.io")!, tokenIssuerURL: URL(string: "https://example-tunnel.ngrok.io")!, userTierToken: Data(base64Encoded: "BBBB")! ) } } However, after I updated the URLs to the production ones, I encountered an issue: @main struct CallerID: LiveCallerIDLookupProtocol { var context: LiveCallerIDLookupExtensionContext { LiveCallerIDLookupExtensionContext( serviceURL: URL(string: "https://example.net/")!, tokenIssuerURL: URL(string: "https://example/issue")!, userTierToken: Data(base64Encoded: "BBBB")! ) } } The problem is that during calls or when updating PIR parameters, the application still attempts to connect to the initial ngrok tunnel URLs instead of using the new production URLs. I can confirm this because the logs on my local server show incoming requests, indicating that the application is still referencing the old ngrok tunnel URLs. Steps I’ve taken to resolve the issue include: Deleting and reinstalling the application. Using reset(forExtensionWithIdentifier:) Unfortunately, these attempts have not been successful. I even extracted the binary of the app and extension to inspect the strings, confirming that the correct production URLs are present. The server was started with the following command: PIRService --hostname 127.0.0.1 service-config.json Could this be some sort of caching bug on the iOS side, or am I missing something?

Live Caller ID Lookup - CipherMLError.missingSecre t Ke y error
I'm trying to implement live caller id PIR server in python and I have an issue related to evaluation key config. I don't receive the POST /key request even if I try to install the extension on new device and I had this error in device system logs: error 11:21:30.663022+0200 ciphermld requestData(byKeywords:shardIds:clientConfig:) threw an error: CipherML.CipherMLError.missingSecre t Ke y I think the reason why the evaluation key is not generated is related to this error but I'm not sure. It might be also related to HE params - I tried with the same params as in swift server example with plaintext_modulus=17 and it works, but for plaintext_modulus=65537 on the same device the system doesn't send me the evaluation key. Is there a limitation that restricts the evaluation key generation for some HE params? There is how the entire config object that I retrieve looks like: { "configs": { "Live-C aller-ID-Lookup. iOS Blocking Websocket Reconnection After Multiple VoIP Push Notifications
Hello, We have a Push-to-Talk (PTT) application that is already well established and widely used. Our app has the proper VoIP entitlement, which we are using to wake up the app and establish a WebSocket connection for real-time communication. We are also using CallKit as a supporting mechanism, but not as the primary interaction upon receiving the VoIP Push, since our use case differs from traditional full-duplex VoIP calls. While our implementation works correctly in many cases, we have noticed a consistent issue where, after multiple VoIP Push notifications, the system still delivers the push, but prevents the WebSocket from reconnecting. At this point, all connection attempts return errors such as: • "Software caused connection abort" This issue persists until the app is manually relaunched, after which the behavior resets and repeats. We are aware that VoIP Push was originally designed for full-duplex calls, but since Apple allows its use for other purposes through the entitlement, we would like to understand why this limitation is occurring and how to handle it properly. Questions: 1. Is iOS enforcing stricter background execution rules after multiple VoIP Push events within a short period? 2. Are there any recommended best practices to ensure reliable WebSocket reconnection in this scenario?

Apple Pay testing in Sandbox for Austria
Dear Team, we are from Austria and want to test our apple pay on the web implementation via Apple Sandbox. As far as we can see Austria is not on the list that sandbox supports Apple Pay testing for. Can you please advise how can we move forward with testing? We have already created and also tried out our Sandbox account on iPhone 11 and successfully added test cards to the Wallet. Can we expect please in later stage some restrictions due to our region? Thank you in advance. Iveta

How can I stop CPNavigationSession properly on CarPlay disconnect
Hi there, I'm facing an issue when disconnecting CarPlay that the navigation session seems to be in some weird state where it is not properly finished. So when I reconnect CarPlay the "Metadata in instrument cluster or HUD" does not update anymore until I start another navigation session and stop that one. You can see that the instruction to the left on this screen recording is not updating anymore after a reconnect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sncxyJULjQk I have a modified the CostalRoad sample app to add support for the HUD cluster and to auto start a navigation simulation when CarPlay connects. https://github.com/g4rb4g3/CoastalRoads Can anyone tell me what I have to do when CarPlay disconnect so I can start a new navigation session on reconnect that has a working HUD cluster? Fun fact is that Apple Maps handles this quite nice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpJEIyGcwdo), it somehow manages to finish the navigation session and brings up the HUD cluster just fine on reconnect. I wonder how I can achieve the same, anyone having an idea on that?

Applepay merchant validation failing with error request failed with status code 417
I am implementing apple pay and the merchant validation is failing with error (error request failed with status code 417). I am using react js in the frontend and node js in backend, this is my code const httpsAgent = new https.Agent({ rejectUnauthorized: false, cert: fs.readFileSync( path.join(__dirname, "../../../certificates/merchant_id_prod.pem") ), key: fs.readFileSync( path.join(__dirname, "../../../certificates/merchant_id_prod.key") ), }); const data = { merchantIdentifier: "merchantId", displayName: "Check", initiative: "web", initiativeContext: "domain.com", }; const response = await axios.post(validationURL, data, { httpsAgent });

My MacOS swift app [myStuckApp5] refuses to close when running on Monterrey (The app becomes unresponsive after finishing its work, and needs to be forcefully closed). However, it closes as expected when running MacOS 13 and above. How can I troubleshoot this error? I'm attaching the content of the sys Log related to the app while it was stuck (too long to copy here...) This is the content of the related sys Log

macOS app can be excluded from the ‘Screen Time’ statistics?
I am a macOS software developer using Xcode and Objective-C. I have a wallpaper app on the App Store, and recently, a few users have asked if the app can be excluded from the ‘Screen Time’ statistics. Is there a way to allow users to choose whether or not the app should appear in the ‘Screen Time’ tracking? I have already set LSUIElement to YES in the info.plist, but the app is still being tracked in ‘Screen Time.

Operation of Server Notifications V2 when Apple account is withdrawal
Please allow me to confirm the Server Notifications V2 specification. I am aware that if withdrawal an Apple account that has a subscription, the subscription will eventually be cancelled. Regarding Server Notifications V2 notifications with a notificationType of EXPIRED, am I correct in thinking that they will be sent when the subscription expires even if the Apple account is withdrawal?

iOS sdcard plug-in/unplug event and read problems
Currently, we use UIDocumentPickerViewController to read the user's connected sdcard. However, this requires the user to select manually, and the event cannot be monitored. But recently I found that ImageCaptureCore's ICDeviceBrowserDelegate can monitor the plug-in and unplug events in the didAddDevice callback, but cannot obtain the path of the storage card. I wonder if there is a way to combine the advantages of both, so that with the user's consent, the card reader events can be monitored and the content can be read directly without the user manually selecting the folder

App cannot fetch any resource after a while
Hi everyone, We came an issue that, In some scenarios in our app we cannot fetch any resources from device (Photo and Contact). One case we catched is putting app in background and spending time in other commonly used apps and coming back to our app cause this issue but there is a small chance that get this issue during using the application. In cell, we are trying to fetch the image like this imageFetchTask = Task { let image = await CompositionRoot.shared.photosManager.image(requestType: .imageCollections, forId: photoAsset.photoId) self.photoImageView.image(image) } and inner layers of this code we get the PHAsset and request image PHAsset.firstAsset(for: id) let manager = PHImageManager.default() manager.requestImage(for: asset, targetSize: request.targetSize, contentMode: .aspectFill, options: request.options) { (image, info) in continuation.resume(returning: image) } We figured out that issue not happening only in Photos also Contacts and any web request. So any help according to this situation is well appreciated. Thanks

Unblocking Apps After a Scheduled Duration in FamilyControl
I am able to block apps using FamilyControl and Shield. Unblocking is also simple—just assign nil to store.shield.applications. However, I want to unblock them even when the app is not open. Use case: Let's say the app allows users to create a session where a particular app is blocked for a specific duration. Once the session starts, the app should remain blocked, and as soon as the session time ends, it should automatically be unblocked. Please help me with this. Thank you!

Apple Mail and Drag&Drop
I have been trying to accept drops from Apple Mail which do supply data with type identifiers : com.apple.mail.email The problem is that even though the drop says it does contain items for com.apple.mail.email it does provide the items for com.apple.mail.email. Mail dropped from Microsoft Outlook however confirms to the protocols and returns the items for com.apple.mail.email Is this a known issue with Apple Mail and is there are reason for what seems to be a non-compliance to it own standards in Apple Mail?

Is the Time Sensitive Notification entitlement needed for visionOS?
I noticed the time sensitive entitlement says it's only for iOS and macOS. But without the entitlement, the time sensitive toggle doesn't show in my app's notification settings on visionOS. When I archive my visionOS app for App Store Connect, the entitlement seems to be taken out as it doesn't show in my entitlement list for the build in App Store Connect. I'm confused at this point if the entitlement is really necessary, since it seems to be needed to debug on the simulator at least. I don't have a physical device to test it on unfortunately.
