I'm working on a SwiftUI application that uses a couple different webviews in a tabview to render some mdx and codemirror editor.
The editor webview, the one that's much more complicated works as expected. Some errors appear in the console due to what I imagine is a race condition that I'll get around to fixing, but it works as expected.
The other webview which just renders a single, local html file to display a dead simple summary absolutely refuses to work. It first appears to work as expected (shows the same 'return type unsupported' error in the console though) on the initial request, but then refuses to process any JS functions for that particular webview. Even the functions themselves are being used between the two webviews, and they work as expected in the other. Even worse, when I copy and paste the generated JS code into the safari dev tools it works as expected, even in the broken webview.
I've spent almost 12 hours on this today so far, and have made zero progress. I've tried commenting out just about the entire website to narrow it down on the JS side without success, and I've done everything I can think of on the swift side.
To be transparent, I'm very new to Swift and SwiftUI, having only picked it up a few weeks ago, but I'm an experienced developer and every obvious solution fails to work.
From what I've gathered, this might have something to do with the first function call failing, despite the fact that it appears to work on the first function call, but then the javascript engine refusing to process additional requests. I'm not sure if that's the cause, but it certainly seems to make sense.
Is there a way to debug this more completely? Like I said, I'm very new to Swift and still missing neovim, so I'm still getting comfortable with the apple ecosystem of devtools, but I can't even figure out how to print out the return type since it fails before I'm able to inspect anything on the safari side
I did notice this error in the console as well, and I'm not quite sure what to make of it:
Error acquiring assertion: <Error Domain=RBSServiceErrorDomain Code=1 "((target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.rendering AND target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.networking AND target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.webcontent))" UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=((target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.rendering AND target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.networking AND target is not running or doesn't have entitlement com.apple.developer.web-browser-engine.webcontent))}>
And as I was digging for that one, I just noticed this:
WebContent[32934] 0x102011208 - [webPageID=306] WebPage::runJavaScriptInFrameInScriptWorld: Request to run JavaScript failed with error SecurityError: The operation is insecure.
What would trigger a security warning for running javascript against a local file?
Any help is greatly appreciated... this is driving me crazy.

It was mentioned in the Swift Student Challenge that outstanding winners will have the opportunity to visit Apple Park in the United States. However, as a challenger from China who is not currently in the U.S., this means that if I receive the outstanding award, I will need to apply for a visa to travel to Apple Park. Since I am under 18, my guardian would also need to apply for a visa. Therefore, I would like to know if Apple provides visa assistance for outstanding winners and their guardians from China, or if we are responsible for applying for the visas on our own.

As l proceeded through the enrollment/membership.
I found the price is fixed for US$99. At the end. What about Renewal.
Is there any cost reduction for Apple Developers?
My app has three main SwiftData models: Collection, SavedItem, and Extract.
A Collection can contain subcollections (folders within folders) and SavedItems (files).
Each SavedItem can have child Extracts.
I'm preparing for the ability for users to be able to share Collections with each other.
Currently, my architecture treats each Collection as the root of its own CloudKit zone (a root parent Collection and all of its items and subcollections live in 1 zone).
This makes sharing and isolation straightforward, but it also means that moving a SavedItem or subcollection between Collections involves moving it across zones.
I’m trying to figure out the best pattern for handling these cross-zone moves while keeping data integrity, relationships, and sharing intact.
My understanding is that in CloudKit, and moving a record from Zone A to Zone B would require deleting it from Zone A and recreating it in Zone B - while somehow maintaining the link back to my local SwiftData store.
Has anyone run into this or know how best I should handle it?
I am constantly running out of storage on my iPhone 16 Pro. I keep having to move my photos and videos to my laptop and delete them from my phone, and I’m constantly needing to offload apps and manually clear caches in some apps to free up storage. I finally got sick of having this cycle every two weeks so looked into it more closely. I’m finding that iOS consumes 32 GB, and then another system reserve category is consuming an additional 23 GB. Meaning the system reserved files are consuming half of the storage on this phone and effectively making it a 64 GB model. I understand the system will need to consume some capacity for itself and that iOS is getting larger, but nearly 50% of the capacity of the phone is insane.
Looking closer into the categories, I’m seeing that iOS has taken it upon itself to also permanently provision 10% of the storage capacity for reserve update space.
Already another instance of “why am I having to lose so much of my functional capacity to an occasional process?” but I can understand the utility of this — if I didn’t still have to offload basically all my apps every single time I run a software update, because I’m still some not-insignificant amount short. I seem to recall it being between 6-20 GB across the different updates I’ve had to do since iOS 26 rolled around. I’d also like to be clear that preprovisioning the storage space for updates isn’t a bad idea, just give us an off switch if we’d rather be able to take a few hundred more photos, have another few apps, etc. than have the space sit mostly unused.
The biggest culprit is this “system data” category which is somehow consuming as much space as the entire operating system and its extensions.
There’s no clear way to request iOS to clear this down if some of it is temporary data, which we should have a button for even if Apple thinks it should “just work.” Windows usually trims down on its temp files, but on the occasion you go look and see 67 GB of temporary files, being able to manually run the disk cleanup tool is very helpful. I’m hesitant to try any third party app because I shouldn’t need to, and knowing Apple, it wouldn’t have access to anything it would actually have to touch anyway. Which is neither here nor there, but give us a button to clear cache or maybe run the cleanup when the phone reboots?
I am running the developer beta right now so maybe that’s part of it. However I’m not sure… I had switched to mainline release for a while when it released, and it didn’t seem any different with storage consumption and battery drain. I jumped back to beta to see some of the new features and am waiting for another mainline release to switch back to as the recent betas have been much more unstable/buggy than the entire prerelease beta period.
Just wondering if anyone has any kind of input on this storage issue in particular as it’s not really been talked about as much as the battery drain issue from what I can see.
I was developing my app on Xcode and I saw in requirements it says “your submission must be an app playground (.swiftpm)
I reckon I can develop in Xcode and then copy those files in playgrounds app, make some changes, for it to work.
also I made my project in landscape mode in Xcode, in playgrounds can I lock display orientation through package.swift file or I should continue making me app in landscape mode and ask players to change their viewing orientation via a popup?

Hi Community!
I have enrolled for an Apple Developer Account. Only 4 hours left until the 48-hour deadline runs out. On the account page it says pending in orange when I click on my name, but it also says that I need to complete payment. I have received an invoice and receipt from Apple confirming that it’s paid, so I’m not planning to pay again. Does this sound like everything is correct and I can just look forward to it, or does it sound like something is wrong? From people’s experience here, does it often take more than 48 hours?

After latest beta firmware update 11.4, the screen is non or less responsive. Right before the update everything was working like a charm.
Tried unpairing, total reset as a new watch, but nothing solves the problem

Beta two keeps hanging during the download process and says connect to wifi (which I am) or after hours it may download the beta 1.4gb file only to have to freeze in next processing step.
I have tried all the resets, reinstalling both the watch and the phone running OS26.1 Beta 2 etc.
The impact is the watch and the current software implementation is only getting a couple hours of battery usages before going dead
Hi everyone. Since the update to iOS 26, we are no longer able to tap the person's name and view the certificate of a signed email and choose to install the certificate or remove it. This has always worked just fine but seems to be broken on iOS 26 and I have verified that it does not work on iOS 26.1 beta as well. The part that is strange is it does work just fine on an iPad running iPad OS 26.
This makes it impossible to send encrypted emails to someone via the mail app on an iPhone. I have found a temporary workaround which is to install Outlook for iOS and install the certificates through that app which then allows me to send encrypted emails via Outlook.
This appears to be a bug just with the iPhone as I have also seen a few other people online talking about the same problem. Has anyone found a solution to this?
Hi I was thinking, wouldn’t it be awesome if Apple had a stock app? I know, it might sound crazy, but honestly, it would be a fantastic addition to their finance section! Imagine having a wallet, Apple credit card, and a stock app all in one place. In my opinion, that could totally revolutionize everything!

Inhouse distributions apps stopped working after upgrading to version to iOS 18.1.x
My issue all is inhouse distributions apps, when I open the application it will force stop.
stopped working after upgrading to version 18.1.1. This has happened on multiple iPhones.
Some users able use the application on same OS version but application is not working on newly downloaded device.
iPhone, then updated to version 18.1.1, they app would not work. We deleted the app and the Enterprise App trust was gone.
Then we installed a new version of the app. The phone did not prompt us to trust the Enterprise
app again and the app it would open for a second then close.
I believe when the app was deleted the Enterprise
App was deleted, it’s not actually deleting certificates, because re-installation is not asking to trust certificate again.
Has anyone else had any issued with their CarPlay with the new phone? My screen gets distorted and you cannot make up anything that shows up on it, it's specific to the new phone since I have also tried it with an iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 13.
I have updated my car's firmware, reset it, reset my phone settings (per Apple's request) and nothing seems to be working, and unfortunately since I'm on the beta they are limited with the assistance they are able to provide to me.
HAVE ANY ONE EXPERIENCE PASS KEY DEVICE PROMPTS RANDOMLY ON BETA IOS SOFTWARE >?

Hi everyone,
I’m developing an app for managing internet services, which includes features like controlling modems, paying internet bills, purchasing internet packages, buying cameras, subscribing to FSafety (modem management), UltraFast (boosting internet speed for gaming), and selling health-related devices like blood glucose monitors, as well as other telecom-related products.
I have some questions about Apple’s review process and payment policies:
Do features like paying internet bills, buying internet packages, purchasing cameras, subscribing to FSafety and UltraFast violate any of Apple’s policies (App Store Review Guidelines)?
If my app doesn’t violate any policies, how would Apple charge for these transactions, and what is the fee structure?
If I use an external payment gateway (not Apple’s) for transactions like paying bills or buying products, would I need to provide additional documentation for my app to be approved on the App Store?
What is the review process for apps with external payment features? Is there anything special I need to do when submitting the app to the App Store?
I would appreciate any insights from those who have experience with developing apps that include payment functionality.
Thanks so much!
after updating to beta 4 the whole phone is not working anymore
nothing is working only making calls and the camera
no apps no internet even if it's connected to wifi or 5G
ANd to get back to the old version you will lose your backup
And now im stuck my data that i can't restore it cuz it have been made on the last IOS beta
I don't want to lose my date and i don't know what to do
Please help
Hello,
My developer account was closed last week. In a conversation with Apple support, I was informed that the account was closed due to “inactivity”, but the account has always been in regular use and I was preparing to release an app last week.
Now all my work is at a standstill because the account is “Acount Holder” and Apple Turkey Support team states that this account will never be reopened and that there is no support service for Developer account in Turkey. I asked for support for the Developer account globally, but they couldn't find it either.
What can I do about this? My account was not inactive and I was constantly testing my apps via testflight and I submitted the latest version last week. Which department should I contact?

Beta Update Feedback: iOS 18.3
The iOS 18.3 beta update has been a deeply frustrating experience due to numerous critical issues that severely impact the device's functionality. Below is a detailed report of the problems encountered:
All major social applications, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Photos, consistently crash. When launching these apps, the screen often turns dark before reverting to the home screen. This issue persists across other third-party and native apps, making the device unusable for basic tasks.
The system frequently hangs, failing to process basic operations effectively. Restarting the device is often the only temporary solution; however, even after multiple restarts, the issues remain unresolved.
Significant charging drops are observed, and the device intermittently fails to recognize the charger. Charging efficiency has drastically decreased, creating inconvenience for daily usage.
The Photos app is riddled with bugs, making it nearly impossible to use. Basic functions such as viewing, editing, or sharing photos do not work properly.
Every aspect of the update feels unstable, with issues cropping up in every corner of the system. The phone’s functionality has deteriorated, so it no longer performs as expected.
Device Affected: iPhone 13
Impact Level: Severe
This update has caused immense frustration and has made the iPhone 13 difficult.
Basically, I always charge my phone at night to my limit 85%, but when I installed the iOS 18.3 beta 3, my iPhone charged to 100% at night when I was having always limit to 85%, my phone was overheated too. Did that only happened to me? Because I even checked and it’s on 85% limit.
