isUserVerifyingPlatformAuthenticatorAvailable returns false on iOS 26.2 Developer Beta
I’m currently developing an application using WKWebView. After updating to iOS 26.2 Developer Beta, the following Web API started returning false: isUserVerifyingPlatformAuthenticatorAvailable MDN: https://developer.mozilla.org/ja/docs/Web/API/PublicKeyCredential/isUserVerifyingPlatformAuthenticatorAvailable_static This issue did not occur on iOS 26.1 — it only happens on the beta version. Has anyone else encountered this problem or is aware of any related changes? OS: iOS 26.2 beta 3 (23C5044b)

Incorrect menu consistency warnings logged in Tahoe for NSStatusItem, performance issues related?
Is anyone else getting new warning about menu items with submenus when running on Tahoe? I'm getting big performance problems using my menu as well as seeing these messages and I'm wondering if there's a connection. My app is faceless with a NSStatusItem with an NSMenu. Specifically it's my own subclass of NSMenu where I have a lot of code to manage the menu's dynamic behavior. This code is directly in the menu subclass instead of in a controller because the app I forked had it this way, a little wacky but I don't see it being a problem. A nib defines the contents of the menu, and it's instantiated manually with code like: var nibObjects: NSArray? = [] guard let nib = NSNib(nibNamed: "AppMenu", bundle: nil) else { ... } guard nib.instantiate(withOwner: owner, topLevelObjects: &nibObjects) else { ... } guard let menu = nibObjects?.compactMap({ $0 as? Self }).first else { ... } Within that nib.instantiate call I see a warning logged that seems new to Tahoe, before the menu's awakeFromNib is called, that says (edited): Internal inconsistency in menus - menu <NSMenu: 0x6000034e5340> believes it has <My_StatusItem_App.AppMenu: 0x7f9570c1a440> as a supermenu, but the supermenu does not seem to have any item with that submenu My_StatusItem_App.AppMenu: 0x7f9570c1a440 is my menu belonging to the NSStatusItem, NSMenu: 0x6000034e5340 is the submenu of one of its menu items. At a breakpoint in the NSMenu subclass's awakeFromNib I print self and see clear evidence of the warning's incorrectness. Below is a snippet of the console including the full warning, only edited for clarity and brevity. It shows on line 32 menu item with placeholder title "prototype batch item" that indeed has that submenu. Internal inconsistency in menus - menu <NSMenu: 0x6000034e5340> Title: Supermenu: 0x7f9570c1a440 (My StatusItem App), autoenable: YES Previous menu: 0x0 (None) Next menu: 0x0 (None) Items: ( "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010e4fa0 Do The Thing Again, ke mask='<none>'>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010e5040 Customize\U2026, ke mask='<none>'>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010e50e0, ke mask='<none>'>" ) believes it has <My_StatusItem_App.AppMenu: 0x7f9570c1a440> Title: My StatusItem App Supermenu: 0x0 (None), autoenable: YES Previous menu: 0x0 (None) Next menu: 0x0 (None) Items: ( ) as a supermenu, but the supermenu does not seem to have any item with that submenu (lldb) po self <My_StatusItem_App.AppMenu: 0x7f9570c1a440> Title: My StatusItem App Supermenu: 0x0 (None), autoenable: YES Previous menu: 0x0 (None) Next menu: 0x0 (None) Items: ( "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010fd7c0 About My StatusItem App\U2026, ke mask='<none>', action: showAbout:, action image: info.circle>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010fd860 Show Onboarding Window\U2026, ke mask='Shift', action: showIntro:>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010fd900 Update Available\U2026, ke mask='<none>', action: installUpdate:, standard image: icloud.and.arrow.down, hidden>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010e46e0, ke mask='<none>'>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010e4780 Start The Thing, ke mask='<none>', action: startTheThing:>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010e4dc0 \U2318-\U232b key detector item, ke mask='<none>', view: <My_StatusItem_App.KeyDetectorView: 0x7f9570c1a010>>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010e4e60, ke mask='<none>'>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010e4f00 saved batches heading item, ke mask='<none>', view: <NSView: 0x7f9570b4be10>, hidden>", "<My_StatusItem_App.BatchMenuItem: 0x6000016e02c0 prototype batch item, ke mask='<none>', action: replaySavedBatch:, submenu: 0x6000034e5340 ()>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010f7d40, ke mask='<none>'>", "<My_StatusItem_App.ClipMenuItem: 0x7f956ef14fd0 prototype copy clip item, ke mask='<none>', action: copyClip:>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010fa620 Settings\U2026, ke='Command-,', action: showSettings:>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010fa6c0, ke mask='<none>'>", "<NSMenuItem: 0x6000010fa760 Quit My StatusItem App, ke='Command-Q', action: quit:>" ) Is this seemingly incorrect inconsistency message harmless? Am I only grasping at straws to think it has some connection to the performance issues with this menu?

Foundation Model Framework
Greetings! I was trying to get a response from the LanguageModelSession but I just keep getting the following: Error getting response: Model Catalog error: Error Domain=com.apple.UnifiedAssetFramework Code=5000 "There are no underlying assets (neither atomic instance nor asset roots) for consistency token for asset set com.apple.MobileAsset.UAF.FM.Overrides" UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=There are no underlying assets (neither atomic instance nor asset roots) for consistency token for asset set com.apple.MobileAsset.UAF.FM.Overrides} This occurs both in macOS 15.5 running the new Xcode beta with an iOS 26 simulator, and also on a macOS 26 with Xcode beta. The simulators are both Pro iPhone 16s. I was wondering if anyone had any advice?

Slow rendering List backed by SwiftData @Query
Hello, I've a question about performance when trying to render lots of items coming from SwiftData via a @Query on a SwiftUI List. Here's my setup: // Item.swift: @Model final class Item: Identifiable { var timestamp: Date var isOptionA: Bool init() { self.timestamp = Date() self.isOptionA = Bool.random() } } // Menu.swift enum Menu: String, CaseIterable, Hashable, Identifiable { var id: String { rawValue } case optionA case optionB case all var predicate: Predicate<Item> { switch self { case .optionA: return #Predicate { $0.isOptionA } case .optionB: return #Predicate { !$0.isOptionA } case .all: return #Predicate { _ in true } } } } // SlowData.swift @main struct SlowDataApp: App { var sharedModelContainer: ModelContainer = { let schema = Schema([Item.self]) let modelConfiguration = ModelConfiguration(schema: schema, isStoredInMemoryOnly: false) return try! ModelContainer(for: schema, configurations: [modelConfiguration]) }() var body: some Scene { WindowGroup { ContentView() } .modelContainer(sharedModelContainer) } } // ContentView.swift struct ContentView: View { @Environment(\.modelContext) private var modelContext @State var selection: Menu? = .optionA var body: some View { NavigationSplitView { List(Menu.allCases, selection: $selection) { menu in Text(menu.rawValue).tag(menu) } } detail: { DemoListView(selectedMenu: $selection) }.onAppear { // Do this just once // (0..<15_000).forEach { index in // let item = Item() // modelContext.insert(item) // } } } } // DemoListView.swift struct DemoListView: View { @Binding var selectedMenu: Menu? @Query private var items: [Item] init(selectedMenu: Binding<Menu?>) { self._selectedMenu = selectedMenu self._items = Query(filter: selectedMenu.wrappedValue?.predicate, sort: \.timestamp) } var body: some View { // Option 1: touching `items` = slow! List(items) { item in Text(item.timestamp.description) } // Option 2: Not touching `items` = fast! // List { // Text("Not accessing `items` here") // } .navigationTitle(selectedMenu?.rawValue ?? "N/A") } } When I use Option 1 on DemoListView, there's a noticeable delay on the navigation. If I use Option 2, there's none. This happens both on Debug builds and Release builds, just FYI because on Xcode 16 Debug builds seem to be slower than expected: https://indieweb.social/@curtclifton/113273571392595819 I've profiled it and the SwiftData fetches seem blazing fast, the Hang occurs when accessing the items property from the List. Is there anything I'm overlooking or it's just as fast as it can be right now?

Unable to Download iOS Simulator Runtime 26.1 on Xcode — Bad URL Error (Code 49)
Hi everyone, I’m experiencing a persistent issue when trying to download the iOS Simulator Runtime 26.1 on Xcode (version 26.1). The download always fails with the following error Download failed due to a bad URL. (Catalog download for com.apple.MobileAsset.iOSSimulatorRuntime) Domain: com.apple.MobileAssetError.Download Code: 49 I’m located in Brazil, so I initially thought it might be region-related, but I’ve already tried several attempts to fix it, including: Using VPNs for the US and Europe Installing the Xcode 26.2 beta Downgrading Xcode to earlier versions Reinstalling the same version of Xcode Restarting Xcode and my Mac Switching networks Clearing simulator support/device files Unfortunately, nothing has resolved the issue. Is anyone else facing this problem? Does anyone know a workaround or a manual way to download/install the iOS 26.1 simulator runtime? Thanks in advance!

UITabBarController crashes when editing the items
I'm using one UITabBarController which leads to 6 NavigationController. Therefore the user will get 4 icons displayed and one icon with three points to see the rest of the Navigation Controller. If the user now tries to edit the list and moves one item from the hidden area towards the TabBar at the bottom, the App crashes with the error: Exception NSException * "Can't add self as subview" 0x0000600000d16040 I can see this effect at least on both my apps. If the same compilation is run on a older iOS version, there is no crash. Is there anything I have to take care of the configuration of the TabBar, when it comes to iOS26?

Incorrect packet handling in SMBClient MacOS 26.
SMBClient-593 introduces a crtitical bug. When reading and writing data at high volume, the SMBClient no longer properly receives and handle responses from the server. In some cases, the client mishandles the response packet and the following errors are seen in the logs: 2025-12-02 21:36:04.774772-0700 localhost kernel[0]: (smbfs) smb2_smb_parse_write_one: Bad struct size: 0 2025-12-02 21:36:04.774776-0700 localhost kernel[0]: (smbfs) smb2_smb_write: smb2_smb_read_write_async failed with an error 72 2025-12-02 21:36:04.774777-0700 localhost kernel[0]: (smbfs) smbfs_do_strategy: file.txt: WRITE failed with an error of 72 In other cases, the client mishandles the response packet and becomes completely unresponsive, unable to send or receive additional messages, and a forced shutdown of the computer is required to recover. This bug is only present on macos 26. We believe the operative change is in the latest commit, SMBClient-593 beginning at line now 3011 in smb_iod.c. The issue seems to be a race, and occurs much more frequently once throughput exceeds around 10Gbps, and again more frequently above 20Gbps.

Xcode 26.2 / iOS 26.2 Simulator not downloading
Hey all, I recently updated to Xcode 26.2 and I'm having the hardest time trying to download the corresponding iOS simulator. I installed Xcode from developer downloads and the app did not come loaded with an iOS simulator. When trying to download from Components in Settings, I only get the following message: Download failed due to a bad URL. (Catalog download for com.apple.MobileAsset.iOSSimulatorRuntime) Domain: com.apple.MobileAssetError.Download Code: 49 User Info: { checkConfiguration = 1; } I also tried downloading via Terminal but also get a download failed message. I am on the latest macOS and have over 600 GB of disk space available. In previous versions, I was able to download the iOS simulator directly from Developer Downloads, but anything after 26 is not there. Any suggestions?

Xcode Cloud on Apple Silicon any time soon?
I'm currently using another provider for CI/CD. They've been offering Apple Silicon builds for over a year now. When we switched over, we saw our build times cut in half. I've seen similar results locally, back when I bought an M1 Mac. So, recently, I tried to use Xcode Cloud on my project. My build time is nearly 45 minutes, where my build time on my current system is about 15 minutes, max. Since I work on a team, and we make regular commits, having a 45 minute turnaround is not ideal. When I looked at the logs of my Xcode Cloud project, I saw a lot "x86_64" stuff in there, which led me to believe that Xcode Cloud is still building on Intel machines. Additionally, I run tests on my builds. The build time alone (before running tests) was almost 20 minutes. The 15-minute time I cited with my current CI/CD included build time & tests running. So, a whole cycle finishes on my current setup before tests are even run. I noticed that there was a bunch of x86_64 in the logs, which made me think that Xcode Cloud is still using Intel. Is this true? I've just gotten really used to faster build times, and I can't move onto a system like this, where the times are so drastically different. Like, I wouldn't mind build time that would add only a few more minutes to what I have now. But going from 15 -> 45 minutes is a real problem.

ITMS-90426: Invalid Swift Support
Hi,Having issues uploading our build to App Store Connect for use in TestFlight. We get a success when building through Xcode, but we get an email after it uploads via archive manager stating "ITMS-90426: Invalid Swift Support - The SwiftSupport folder is missing. Rebuild your app using the current public (GM) version of Xcode and resubmit it.". We have confirmed that we don't have any Swift dependencies and that we are running the latest Xcode (v11.3.1). We've also tried to build/deploy this on multiple computers with the same error. Our app was built using Unity, then brought into Xcode to build/deploy from there. We have never had any Swift dependencies in our project. We are able to deploy directly to our devices, but it seems that the only time we run into issues is trying to. Any help is appreciated.

Testflight issue: "The requested app is not available or doesn't exist"
We submitted a build to testflight and received a confirmation email it was successfully uploaded. When we open testflight on our iPhone's (X, 6s) we get a message of "Could not install appname" "The requested app is not available or does not exist" Where appname is the name of the app. Its very confusing because I can see the build listed in testflight on my mobile device and can view it in iTunes connect. I also can't install prior builds that had worked successfully when I try.

Xcode Cloud fails to install/launch macOS test runner
When running a SwiftUI Multiplatform app in Xcode Cloud I'm getting the following error: CIWatcher encountered an error in CIWatcherTests failed with: Failed to install or launch the test runner. (Underlying Error: Could not launch “CIWatcherTests”. Runningboard has returned error 5. Please check the system logs for the underlying cause of the error. (Underlying Error: The operation couldn’t be completed. Launch failed. (Underlying Error: Launchd job spawn failed))) This runs fine on iOS and all those tests pass. The SwiftUI app on Mac is a menu bar app so I'm not sure if this could be the issue as it's not launching for some reason on the Xcode Cloud system? Maybe I need to add some run option to make this work? When run locally both iOS and macOS pass all the tests successfully

NSTextLineFragment crash - how to debug
We have crash reports as shown below that we haven't yet been able to repro and could use some help deubgging. My guess is that the app is giving a label or text view an attributed string with an invalid attribute range, but attributed strings are used in many places throughout the app, and I don't know an efficient way to track this down. I'm posting the stack trace here in hopes that someone more familiar with the internals of the system frameworks mentioned will be able to provide a clue to help narrow where I should look. Unable to transfer app to another account
Among requirements to transfer app there is one called "clear all builds and testers and empty all fields under Test Information" under TestFlight but it seems there has been an update to appstore internal code as now I simply can't clear any field under Test Information as error pop ups "There are one or more errors on page." requiring me to fill them. How do I transfer apps now?

CallKit Call Directory database corruption (sqlite Code 11)
Hi everyone, I’ve filed a Feedback report (FB20986470) for a serious issue affecting the Call Directory database when add phone numbers for call blocking. When adding blocking numbers to a Call Directory extension, the system’s CallKit database (/private/var/mobile/Library/CallDirectory/CallDirectory.db) becomes corrupted. The reload call (reloadExtensionWithIdentifier) fails with error code 11 when the system tries to insert blocking entries, and the Console app on macOS shows the following errors: database corruption page 2265525 of /private/var/mobile/Library/CallDirectory/CallDirectory.db at line 81343 of [f0ca7bba1c] database corruption at line 79387 of [f0ca7bba1c] Error Domain=com.apple.callkit.database.sqlite Code=11 "sqlite3_step for query 'INSERT INTO PhoneNumberBlockingEntry (extension_id, phone_number_id) VALUES (?, (SELECT id FROM PhoneNumber WHERE (number = ?))), (?, (SELECT id FROM PhoneNumber WHERE (number = ?))),...)'" After this happens, CallKit becomes fully corrupted on the device and no further numbers can be added, even after: Disabling and re-enabling the extension Restarting the device (either force or soft restart) Reinstalling the app Waiting for a couple of minutes after this issue happens (that CallKit could possibly self-recovered) I also tested other call-blocking apps, and they all fail with the same error. The only thing that recovers the system is a full “Reset All Settings.” This issue has been reported by many users of my app, across multiple iOS versions and devices. Similar related issue reported by another developer: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/806129 Steps to Reproduce: Enable the Call Directory extension from a call-blocking app. Add and reload blocking numbers (a few thousand entries). Perform multiple reloads between additions. Check the Console, the corruption errors appear. From this point, all insert attempts fail system-wide. Expected Result: Entries should be inserted successfully, or the system should self-recover without persistent corruption. Actual Result: sqlite3_step fails with Code=11, and the Call Directory database remains corrupted until the user resets all settings. Additional Notes: All numbers are sorted and deduplicated before insertion. Happens intermittently after multiple reloads. The system log always shows internal database failure. Environment: Device: iPhone 16 Plus iOS 18.2 Beta (23C5027f) Xcode 16.1 (17B55) Attachments (included in Feedback FB20986470): sysdiagnose captured immediately after the failure (with Phone app General Profile) It seems like a system-level corruption affecting all Call Directory extensions once it occurs.

Orphaned 9GB Simulator Runtime in /System/Library/AssetsV2 - Cannot Delete (SIP protected)
I have an orphaned asset folder taking up 9.13GB located at: /System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime/c0d3fd05106683ba0b3680d4d1afec65f098d700.asset It contains SimulatorRuntimeAsset version 18.5 (Build 22F77). Active Version: My current Xcode setup is using version 26.2 (Build 23C54). I checked the plist files in the directory and found what seems to be the cause of the issue: The "Never Collected" Flag: The Info.plist inside the orphaned asset folder explicitly sets the garbage collection behavior to "NeverCollected": <key>__AssetDefaultGarbageCollectionBehavior</key> <string>NeverCollected</string> The Catalog Mismatch: The master catalog file (com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime.xml) in the parent directory only lists the new version (26.2). Because the old version (18.5) is missing from this XML, Xcode and mobileassetd seem to have lost track of it entirely. What I Have Tried (All Failed) Xcode Components: The version 18.5 does not appear in Settings -> Components, so I cannot delete it via the GUI. Simctl: xcrun simctl list runtimes does not list this version. Running xcrun simctl runtime delete 22F77 fails with: "No runtime disk images or bundles found matching '22F77'." Manual Deletion: sudo rm -rf [path] fails with "Operation not permitted", presumably because /System/Library/AssetsV2 is SIP-protected. Third-party Tools: Apps like DevCleaner do not detect this runtime (likely because they only scan ~/Library or /Library, not /System/Library). Has anyone found a way to force the system (perhaps via mobileassetd or a specific xcrun flag) to re-evaluate this folder and respect a deletion request? I am trying to avoid booting into Recovery Mode just to delete a cache file. Any insights on how AssetsV2 handles these "orphaned" files would be appreciated.
