Reply to Clarification Regarding VAT Tax Remittance for App Store Income
You are in Vietnam, right? I'm going to assume that VAT in Vietnam works in a similar way to VAT in Europe. That might not be true. If in doubt, talk to an accountant. You can ignore where the users are. The only transaction that matters is the transaction between you and Apple. You sell only to Apple. You handle the sale to Apple in your accounts exactly as any other business-to-business sale. To which part of Apple do you make your sales? I.e. do you receive your payment from an Apple subsidiary in Vietnam, or do you receive it from a foreign entity? (For example, I am in the UK and I sell to and receive my payments from an Apple subsidiary in Ireland.) If you receive the payment from an Apple entity that is not in Vietnam, which I think is likely, then it is an international business-to-business transaction. In European VAT accounting this is "reverse charged", which means in practice that there is no VAT. Technically, in the accounts my business both pays and reclaims the same amount of VAT so the balance is zero.

Reply to iPad internal GPS receiver channels
In order to prove that the application is reliable for operations, An iPad is not sufficiently reliable for use on a commercial aircraft. As a map app developer, I would not fly with an airline if I knew they were relying on iPads and apps like mine for essential functions. By all means use an iPad to store PDF documents in a format that is more convenient for the pilot than paper ones - but also keep the paper ones onboard if they are essential for safe operations, in case the iPad fails. By all means use the GPS on the iPad to, for example, call up the right chart - but do not rely on the iPad GPS for safe navigation. And regularly practice flying without the iPad during training. You should contact Jeppesen about this. They will no doubt have a very good understanding of the issues involved.

Reply to Fill out W8BEN-E Form as Sole Proprietorship
I am a registered merchan. This means that I have a sole proprietorship that is registered. I also have a DUNS number. But I am still regarded as a natural entity and not a legal entity. I thought corporations are for legal entities only ? OK. I don't know what should happen. I am a bit surprised that you were able to register with Apple as a company, i.e. I would have expected the DUNS result to report your legal status and for Apple to reject that. But clearly that's not what happens. Sorry for causing confusion.

Reply to Fill out W8BEN-E Form as Sole Proprietorship
Hang on, what sort of business are you? I'm confused. You say that you "registered as a company" - did you do the DUNS number check? I got the impression you were describing a limited company with one owner, but now I have read your posts again and I am doubting that. If you're not a limited company, you shouldn't have been able to register with Apple as a company. What is the German term for the legal structure of your business?

Reply to Fill out W8BEN-E Form as Sole Proprietorship
tell me what you put in the: Textfield "Title" and 2. I'm not sure what you mean by that. What did i"If you entered disregarded entity, partnership, simple trust, or grantor trust above, is the entity a hybrid making a treaty claim?" (yes or no) I didn't enter "disregarded entity, partnership, simple trust, or grantor trust" - I entered "corporation" - so I didn't answer that.

Reply to Fill out W8BEN-E Form as Sole Proprietorship
I researched a little and found out that Sole Proprietorship are supposed to fill out the form W8BEN for individuals. That may only be US sole proprietorships. In the US, a one-person company is a “disregarded entity” for tax, i.e. the income/expenditure of the company is considered the income/expenditure of the owner. In contrast, I am a one-person business in the UK and we do not have the concept of “disregarded entities”; I suspect Germany is probably the same. I have a distant memory that the US rules may make specific exceptions for foreign entities that would be disregarded in the US but aren’t in their own countries. So I believe you should fill out the corporate forms. It is a long time since I did this. Maybe someone else has more recent experience.

Reply to Can I show expiry date and cancel button in StoreKit Views?
I believe that I should be able to provide a custom subscription control that shows the current renewal/expiry date by creating a SubscriptionStoreControlStyle: struct MyStyle: SubscriptionStoreControlStyle { func makeBody(configuration: Self.Configuration) -> some View { ... } } SubscriptionStoreView(groupID: "...") .subscriptionStoreControlStyle(MyStyle()) That kinda-works, but I'm stuck because the properties of the SubscriptionStoreControlStyleConfiguration type are undocumented: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/storekit/subscriptionstorecontrolstyleconfiguration I see that the WWDC video ( https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2023/10013 ) described the corresponding functionality for non-subscription stores in some detail, but not this feature. Maybe it's not finished yet?
