Help! Free to paid dev account
I’m very new to mobile app development but not new to application development in general. I’m close to completing my first app and really excited to get things moving along and then hit a major roadblock and am at my wits end with this. I currently have a free account and have been testing on my own phone. I’m ready to move to TestFlight so went to enroll in the paid program and it just says can’t do so at this time. I sent support an email and they said it’s because they can’t identify me. I called and they told me the same thing and that there is literally nothing that can be done. I tried to create a new Apple ID and figured I’d just use it for the dev work I want to do but I can’t even create a new ID. I did have Family Sharing setup with myself as the organize and removed myself from that to ensure nothing was preventing identification. Still nothing. I can’t possibly be the only one that has gone through this. Frustrated is an understatement and getting this app out was really going to be such a big deal for me. So disappointed. Any suggestions?

Automatically Rejected from Apple Developer Program; Denied Explanation
Looking for advice: I've been automatically rejected from Apple's Developer Program without an explanation. Hi everyone, It seems I’ve hit a brick wall, so I’m reaching out to see if anyone here has experienced something similar to this or has any advice or resources to share. I recently attempted to enroll in the Apple Developer Program, but my application was immediately denied after submission. Within one second of submitting my driver’s license, the app stated that Apple was unable to verify my identity and that I needed to reach out to Developer Support for further assistance. When I first contacted Developer Support for clarification, the representative was happy to help. After being taken off hold, she said she couldn't offer any more information, but assured me that I'd later receive an email with further details related to my account and next steps. However, instead of steps to resolve the issue, I received a denial email repeating the same message about being unable to verify my identity (screenshot attached). I’ve since spoken to multiple representatives and supervisors, and, while everyone was initially polite and understanding, it changed after I was taken off hold. Here’s what I’ve been told: The decision is final, and there is no possibility of escalation or appeal. The supervisors themselves, despite being the final decision makers, have no access to the specific reason for applicants’ denial and, thus, could not provide any additional details. I was also invited to join Apple's “Xcode program,” which I found out just means they’ll allow me to buy Xcode from the app store and use it without a developer account (I already do that). Every time a support representative reread the sentence about being “unable to verify [my] identity,” I responded by offering to provide additional forms of identification. However, that offer was never addressed. The last senior advisor I spoke with stated to me over the phone that: She was the highest authority on the matter. There was absolutely no way to escalate the issue further; it was 100% impossible. She physically did not have access to the reason for my denial. Neither she nor anyone else at Apple was able to offer further assistance. I asked this senior advisor to send me an email with the above points in writing, which she said she would do. However, the email I received was a virtual copy-paste of the email from the first support representative, stating the same few sentences verbatim. This has left me deeply confused, especially as no specific reason for denial has been shared, and since I was explicitly denied any opportunity to address (or even get information on) potential issues. I’d like to ask this community: Has anyone else experienced this sort of immediate rejection and/or a refusal to disclose the reason for that rejection? Are there specific guidelines or policies I may have unknowingly violated that I should review? If so, what could be the reason why they’re being withheld from me? Are there any resources or alternative channels I can explore to resolve this issue? I’m so thoroughly confused, and I’m genuinely at a loss with how to move forward. Request for access to Family Controls entitlement
I have filled the form to request for this access, but it has been 15 days now and I haven’t gotten any feedback. Apple Support said the appropriate team will be in contact with me once it has been approved. It’s been 15 days and still nothing. I just want to know how long it would take, and Apple’s WWDC 2025 is around the corner, I was really looking forward to get this done before then.

LLDB error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename
All is fine in Xcode15, no LLDB errors whatsoever, but in Xcode16 I can't get any variable displayed in the console because of the following error: error: type for self cannot be reconstructed: type for typename "$......." was not found (cached) error: Couldn't realize Swift AST type of self. Hint: using `v` to directly inspect variables and fields may still work. I've checked the output of swift-healthcheck and there are several messages like this: SwiftASTContextForExpressions(module: "ROA", cu: "ROA+ViewLayer.swift")::LoadOneModule() -- Missing Swift module or Clang module found for "UIKit", "imported" via SwiftDWARFImporterDelegate. Hint: Register Swift modules with the linker using -add_ast_path. I added -add_ast_path to the OTHER_LDFLAGS in the faulty module's build settings but no luck. How can I debug my project in Xcode16?

Unable to Install Provisioning profile
Hi, I'm unable to install provisioning profile on my iPad and I know the xcode component iOS/iPadOs version and iPadOS version should be same or below the latest compared to xcode components. Now the issue is xcode component version is iOS 18.4 (22E235) SDK + iOS 18.4 (22E238) Simulator (Installed) and iPadOS version is iOS 18.4.1(22E252) could this be cause of issue ? If yes then when will apple release components for 18.4.1? Because iOS 18.4.1 release at least 3-4 weeks before this post.

App Stuck on Launch Screen When Debugging on iOS 18.5 Device with Xcode 16.3
I am using a Mac computer running macOS 15.5 with Xcode version 16.3 (16E140) and an iPhone XS Max on iOS 18.5. When debugging my app on the real device using Xcode, the app gets stuck on the launch screen and fails to proceed to the main interface. There is no output in the Xcode console, and the top of the window continuously shows "attaching to [app name] on [iPhone name]". Here are the details: The same issue occurred when the phone was running iOS 18.4.1. When I tested on another real device running iOS 17, the app launched and ran normally. I’ve tried clearing the cache, but it didn’t help. I deleted the ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/iOS DeviceSupport folder, let it re-download the necessary files, and ran the app again, but the issue persists. I’m currently out of ideas and would appreciate any assistance.

App Suspended during active voip call on Xcode 16
We have started facing an issue after updating Xcode from version 15.2 to 16, we have a voip application with webview and call kit, and we have the Background Modes capabilities: Voip, Audio, Background fetch, and Background processing. We had no problem on Xcode 15, but ever since updating Xcode 16 and sdk 18, when app goes into the background during an active call, the app is suspended and no events are triggered UNTIL the app is resumed to the foreground.

I am trying to setup a unversal linking for my new developing app. but it look like not function well. did any one have some examples or demo domains suggest to use? In fact finally my app is just internal using, user will not suppose connect to internet , how can I using the universal linking without a website ? Thanks

How to disable Temporary Tabs in Xcode?
It's maddening. I just opened a file and now it's gone because I had the audacity to open another file. I've learned that I can double click the tab of the first file to make it a permanent tab... but, of course, I'll need to do that every time I ever open any file ever, and if I close that file and come back to it later I'm going to be constantly having to double click tabs just to make Xcode stop replacing my tabs for me. It's nuts. It's driving me insane. Please. Is there any way to just DISABLE the temporary tabs behavior? I don't find it helpful in any way and I find it to be destructive to my development workflows.

Using devicectl to observe Darwin Notifications
Hello, I'm trying to use devicectl to observe Darwin Notifications on my iPhone. Instructions: OVERVIEW: Observe a Darwin notification on a device. Note that this command will wait for 300 seconds by default before exiting. You can override this by providing a different --timeout value. USAGE: devicectl device notification observe --device <uuid|ecid|udid|name> --name <name> ... [--verbose] [--quiet] [--timeout <seconds>] [--json-output <path>] [--log-output <path>] DEVICE OPTIONS: -d, --device <uuid|ecid|udid|name> The identifier, ECID, UDID, or name of the device. COMMAND OPTIONS: --name <name> The name of the Darwin notification. This can be passed multiple times to observe multiple Darwin notifications. OUTPUT OPTIONS: -v, --verbose If given, provide more logging output than normal. -q, --quiet If given, output will include only errors. -t, --timeout <seconds> The overall command timeout in seconds. Xcode 16.0 syntax highlighting and autocompletion is broken for Swift packages with .binaryTarget
Syntax highlighting & code autocompletion is broken for Swift Packages wrapping an underlying binary target. Jump to defenition for module import shows the whole module interface and project builds & archives just fine, but any known workarounds to resurrect syntax assistant won't work without any errors/warnings. Replacing the .binaryTarget() with plain .target() with source code in package dependency brings all assistant features back. Steps to reproduce (project attached): Create a local Swift Package Add a dependency with binary target (for example — AppsFlyerFramework https://github.com/AppsFlyerSDK/AppsFlyerFramework) Try to use dependency product with binary dependency Attempted steps to fix: Full DD clean Full project clean ~15 min to index Xcode 16.0 & Sonoma 14.6.1, problem persists with Xcode16.2 & Sequoia. Xcode 16.3 / 16.4 UINavigationBar rendering issue?
I've recently upgraded to Sequoia and Xcode 16.3 (now 16.4RC) and a significant change I've noticed vs 16.2 is that the height of UINavigationBar components in storyboards and XIBs is incorrect. Xcode 16.2: Xcode 16.4: This only affects simulated metrics in storyboard / XIB files. I have been unable to find any discussion of this issue anywhere online. Is this actually an Xcode bug that has gone unnoticed / unfixed or is there some underlying intentional change here that I'm unaware of?

Preview on real device without showing the canvas
I am using my real device and the Xcode Preview which works pretty fine. I do not want to show an empty canvas pane all the time. But when hiding the canvas, the preview pauses. I tried the refresh shortkey (OPT + CMD + P), too, while canvas is invisible. Why must the canvas be visible even there is no content besides "Previewing on iPhone from..." Info? I hope there is a workaround to hide the canvas while pushing to real devices.

MIssing visionOS 1.2 SDK for Xcode 15.3
Hi, I have been trying for a weeks to find vision SDK for apple visionOS . I now know I need it for xcode 15.3. apparently Unreal will not build correctly for the visionOS without this version. There are a lot of wild claims about using newer version but nothing new has worked and I am fallowing this webiste. Canvas keeps resizing to 50/50 width in Xcode
Hello, Xcode seems to reset the canvas preview every time I open a file that does not have a preview. This is extremely annoying when working with two editor tabs. The resize happened before only after restarting Xcode since a few weeks it happens always when opening another file. The preview phone does not even take advantage of the resize. Apple developer program membership issue
Hi, I paid to renew my membership and I received an order confirmation email. But when i go to my account it says it is still expired - so what did i pay for then? I've emailed Apple developer support and they just sent me a generic bot/copy and paste email telling me i need to renew my account. Everyone i speak to tells me to click a link and it just leads to an email option, i email them, then i get an unhelpful email, then the cycle repeats. It's like: Me: "Hey Apple, i've just paid to renew my account and you're not giving me what i paid for". Apple: "Just renew your account". Me: "....yeah but that's the issue" Apple: "click this link to send an email and start the infinite useless cycle all over again". I have also called apple multiple times and spoke with three people and they are not able to help. I spoke with one of the people's managers and i explained to him that i've stuck in this infinite loop where nothing gets resolved and he sent me a link which just. lead. to. the. same. email. option! I then explained that this is like a dystopian sci-fi movie where this faceless mega-corp (Apple) has taken my money for a service and not given me that service (false advertising / crime). He said he can't help. Then you know what he said? ................... ........ ..... .. "post on the forum". So Apple takes my money and doesn't give me the service they advertised to me then says they can't help me and that i have to ask in the forum. I said "so basically you're advising me that non-apple employees are better suited to help me than Apple employees, lol". What should i do here?? I have a had a team of developers stop working for weeks and this has brought my app development plan to a halt, costing me money.

unsupported option '-G' for target 'arm64-apple-ios12.0'
I had an Intel macbook and I used that to build and release my app to app store but I didn't release for 2 years. Recently a bug was reported that I needed to update the a code and make a new release with my apple silicon macbook. But I get this issue when I go to Product -> Archive. I've recently upgraded to Sequoia and Xcode 16.3 (now 16.4RC) and a significant change I've noticed vs 16.2 is that the height of UINavigationBar components in storyboards and XIBs is incorrect. Xcode 16.2: Xcode 16.4: This only affects simulated metrics in storyboard / XIB files. I have been unable to find any discussion of this issue anywhere online. Is this actually an Xcode bug that has gone unnoticed / unfixed or is there some underlying intentional change here that I'm unaware of?

Preview on real device without showing the canvas
I am using my real device and the Xcode Preview which works pretty fine. I do not want to show an empty canvas pane all the time. But when hiding the canvas, the preview pauses. I tried the refresh shortkey (OPT + CMD + P), too, while canvas is invisible. Why must the canvas be visible even there is no content besides "Previewing on iPhone from..." Info? I hope there is a workaround to hide the canvas while pushing to real devices.

MIssing visionOS 1.2 SDK for Xcode 15.3
Hi, I have been trying for a weeks to find vision SDK for apple visionOS . I now know I need it for xcode 15.3. apparently Unreal will not build correctly for the visionOS without this version. There are a lot of wild claims about using newer version but nothing new has worked and I am fallowing this webiste. Canvas keeps resizing to 50/50 width in Xcode
Hello, Xcode seems to reset the canvas preview every time I open a file that does not have a preview. This is extremely annoying when working with two editor tabs. The resize happened before only after restarting Xcode since a few weeks it happens always when opening another file. The preview phone does not even take advantage of the resize. Xcode 16.3 Pods Compilation Issue
I am on MacOs 15.4.1 which is being deployed with an old version of Ruby ruby 2.6.10 and bundler version 1.17.2. I ran pod install after generating the pods with these versions and during the application compilation there have been several issues reported against pods code.

Apple developer program membership issue
Hi, I paid to renew my membership and I received an order confirmation email. But when i go to my account it says it is still expired - so what did i pay for then? I've emailed Apple developer support and they just sent me a generic bot/copy and paste email telling me i need to renew my account. Everyone i speak to tells me to click a link and it just leads to an email option, i email them, then i get an unhelpful email, then the cycle repeats. It's like: Me: "Hey Apple, i've just paid to renew my account and you're not giving me what i paid for". Apple: "Just renew your account". Me: "....yeah but that's the issue" Apple: "click this link to send an email and start the infinite useless cycle all over again". I have also called apple multiple times and spoke with three people and they are not able to help. I spoke with one of the people's managers and i explained to him that i've stuck in this infinite loop where nothing gets resolved and he sent me a link which just. lead. to. the. same. email. option! I then explained that this is like a dystopian sci-fi movie where this faceless mega-corp (Apple) has taken my money for a service and not given me that service (false advertising / crime). He said he can't help. Then you know what he said? ................... ........ ..... .. "post on the forum". So Apple takes my money and doesn't give me the service they advertised to me then says they can't help me and that i have to ask in the forum. I said "so basically you're advising me that non-apple employees are better suited to help me than Apple employees, lol". What should i do here?? I have a had a team of developers stop working for weeks and this has brought my app development plan to a halt, costing me money.

unsupported option '-G' for target 'arm64-apple-ios12.0'
I had an Intel macbook and I used that to build and release my app to app store but I didn't release for 2 years. Recently a bug was reported that I needed to update the a code and make a new release with my apple silicon macbook. But I get this issue when I go to Product -> Archive.
