Unable to download iOS simulator runtime 26.x on Xcode
Hi everyone, I'm experiencing a persistent issue for months now where I'm unable to download the iOS 26 simulator Runtime. I've tried reinstalling Xcode and also Xcode Beta but same issue. iOS 26 Simulator is also not on developers download page, so manual installation is impossible. And sadly I can't compile any code without having iOS 26 simulator installed. Anyone able to get passed this? Hardware: M1 Pro OS: Tahoe 26.1 Heres the error Download failed. tensorflow-metal error
I'm using python 3.9.6, tensorflow 2.20.0, tensorflow-metal 1.2.0, and when I try to run import tensorflow as tf It gives Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/haoduoyu/Code/demo.py", line 1, in <module> import tensorflow as tf File "/Users/haoduoyu/Code/test/lib/python3.9/site-packages/tensorflow/__init__.py", line 438, in <module> _ll.load_library(_plugin_dir) File "/Users/haoduoyu/Code/test/lib/python3.9/site-packages/tensorflow/python/framework/load_library.py", line 151, in load_library py_tf.TF_LoadLibrary(lib) tensorflow.python.framework.errors_impl.NotFoundError: dlopen(/Users/haoduoyu/Code/test/lib/python3.9/site-packages/tensorflow-plugins/libmetal_plugin.dylib, 0x0006): Library not loaded: @rpath/_pywrap_tensorflow_internal.so Referenced from: <8B62586B-B082-3113-93AB-FD766A9960AE> /Users/haoduoyu/Code/test/lib/python3.9/site-packages/tensorflow-plugins/libmetal_plugin.dylib Reason: tried: '/Users/haoduoyu/Code/test/lib/python3.9/site-packages/tensorflow-plugins/../_solib_darwin_arm64/_U@local_Uconfig_Utf_S_S_C_Upywrap_Utensorflow_Uinternal___Uexternal_Slocal_Uconfig_Utf/_pywrap_tensorflow_internal.so' (no such file), '/Users/haoduoyu/Code/test/lib/python3.9/site-packages/tensorflow-plugins/../_solib_darwin_arm64/_U@local_Uconfig_Utf_S_S_C_Upywrap_Utensorflow_Uinternal___Uexternal_Slocal_Uconfig_Utf/_pywrap_tensorflow_internal.so' (no such file) As long as I uninstall tensorflow-metal, nothing goes wrong. How can I fix this problem?

Clarification on “anonymous chat” under Guideline 1.2
Hello, With the recent update to Guideline 1.2 stating apps used primarily for “anonymous chat” may be removed, could App Review clarify what “anonymous” means in this context? In our app, users interact using a chosen username and avatar. We don’t display legal names publicly, but each user has a persistent, verified account and all UGC is tied to that account so we can enforce bans. We also provide filtering, reporting, and blocking. Question: Do applications that provide chat functionality with pseudonymous users — meaning users do not display their real names — have the right to exist under this guideline, provided that accounts are persistent and enforceable? If anyone has recently passed review with a similar pseudonymous chat model, I’d appreciate any guidance on how you framed 1.2 compliance.

Background script in the form of a service worker cannot be debugged
If the extension uses manifest v3 and a background script in the form of a service worker, then in Safari it is not possible to open the background script debugging window. If I expand the Developer menu in Safari, there is nothing under Web Extension Background Data (or disappear after click), which is an error. In other browsers (Edge, Chrome, Opera, Firefox) this works correctly. If I switch the background script back to non-persistent script mode, everything works fine and from the Developer menu and the Web Extension Background Data submenu I am able to open the background script debugging window for the extension. Am I doing something wrong?

交易无法结束 (Transactions Unable to Finish)
200002703899379、200002703900716、200002703902023。 A user reported that after making 3 purchases on July 8th, they have been unable to initiate new purchases, always receiving a prompt that the item has already been purchased. Upon investigation, we found that the previous transactions couldn't be finalized. We use StoreKit2 and have successfully called await transaction.finish() to end the transactions. However, every time a new payment is initiated, Transaction.unfinished still returns information about the previously completed transactions. Could this be an issue with the device or Apple ID? The user has tried restarting the device and re-logging into their Apple ID, but these attempts were unsuccessful. Is there any way to resolve this? The Apple transaction IDs that the user is unable to finalize are: 200002703899379, 200002703900716, 200002703902023.

Apple Developer Enrollment Pending Since Jan 31 – No Response from Support
I applied for the Apple Developer Program on January 31, 2026, and as of today (February 5, 2026), my enrollment is still showing as Pending. The payment was completed successfully at the time of application. Since then: I have not received any requests for additional documents or verification. I have contacted Apple Developer Support twice, but have not received any response so far. I understand processing times can vary, but the lack of response from support is concerning. Has anyone else experienced similar delays recently? Is there any recommended escalation path or alternative way to reach the Developer Support team? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, as this delay is impacting my app release timeline. Thank you.

Orphaned 9GB Simulator Runtime in /System/Library/AssetsV2 - Cannot Delete (SIP protected)
I have an orphaned asset folder taking up 9.13GB located at: /System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime/c0d3fd05106683ba0b3680d4d1afec65f098d700.asset It contains SimulatorRuntimeAsset version 18.5 (Build 22F77). Active Version: My current Xcode setup is using version 26.2 (Build 23C54). I checked the plist files in the directory and found what seems to be the cause of the issue: The "Never Collected" Flag: The Info.plist inside the orphaned asset folder explicitly sets the garbage collection behavior to "NeverCollected": <key>__AssetDefaultGarbageCollectionBehavior</key> <string>NeverCollected</string> The Catalog Mismatch: The master catalog file (com_apple_MobileAsset_iOSSimulatorRuntime.xml) in the parent directory only lists the new version (26.2). Because the old version (18.5) is missing from this XML, Xcode and mobileassetd seem to have lost track of it entirely. What I Have Tried (All Failed) Xcode Components: The version 18.5 does not appear in Settings -> Components, so I cannot delete it via the GUI. Simctl: xcrun simctl list runtimes does not list this version. Running xcrun simctl runtime delete 22F77 fails with: "No runtime disk images or bundles found matching '22F77'." Manual Deletion: sudo rm -rf [path] fails with "Operation not permitted", presumably because /System/Library/AssetsV2 is SIP-protected. Third-party Tools: Apps like DevCleaner do not detect this runtime (likely because they only scan ~/Library or /Library, not /System/Library). Has anyone found a way to force the system (perhaps via mobileassetd or a specific xcrun flag) to re-evaluate this folder and respect a deletion request? I am trying to avoid booting into Recovery Mode just to delete a cache file. Any insights on how AssetsV2 handles these "orphaned" files would be appreciated.

Safari 18+ network bug - randomly - The network connection was lost
We are experiencing an issue with Safari in all versions from 18.0 to 18.5 that does not occur in version 17. It affects both iPhones and Macs. And does not happen in Chrome or Windows. The problem is impacting our customers, and our monitoring tools show a dramatic increase in error volume as more users buy/upgrade to iOS 18. The issue relates to network connectivity that is lost randomly. I can reliably reproduce the issue online in production, as well as on my local development environment. For example our website backoffice has a ping, that has a frequency of X seconds, or when user is doing actions like add to a cart increasing the quantity that requires backend validation with some specific frequency the issue is noticable... To test this I ran a JS code to simulate a ping with a timer that calls a local-dev API (a probe that waits 2s to simulate "work") and delay the next HTTP requests with a dynamic value to simulate network conditions: Note: To even make the issue more clear, I'm using GET with application/json payload to make the request not simple, and require a Pre-flight request, which doubles the issue. (async () =&amp;gt; { for (let i = 0; i &amp;lt; 30; i++) { try { console.log(`Request start ${i} ${new Date().toLocaleString()}`); const res = await fetch(`https://api.redated.com:8090/1/*****/probe?`, { method: 'GET', mode: "cors", //headers: {'Content-Type': 'text/plain'}, headers: { 'Content-Type': 'application/json' }, }); console.log(`Request end ${i} ${new Date().toLocaleString()} status:`, res.status); } catch (err) { console.error(`Request ${i} ${new Date().toLocaleString()} error:`, err); } let delta = Math.floor(Math.random() * 10); console.log("wait delta",delta); await new Promise(r =&amp;gt; setTimeout(r, 1000 - delta)); } })(); For simplicity lets see a case where it fails 1 time only out of 10 requests. (Adjusting the "delta" var on the time interval create more or less errors...) This are the results: The network connection was lost error, which is false, since this is on my localhost machine, but this happens many times and is very reproducible in local and production online. The dev-tools and network tab shows empty for status error, ip, connection_id etc.. its like the request is being terminated very soon. Later I did a detailed debugging with safari and wireshark to really nail down the network flow of the problem: I will explain what this means: Frame 10824 – 18:52:03.939197: new connection initiated (SYN, ACK, ECE). Frame 10831 – 18:52:04.061531: Client sends payload (preflight request) to the server. Frame 10959 – 18:52:09.207686: Server responds with data to (preflight response) to the client. Frame 10960 – 18:52:09.207856: Client acknowledges (ACK) receipt of the preflight response. Frame 10961 – 18:52:09.212188: Client sends the actual request payload after preflight OK and then server replies with ACK. Frame 11092 – 18:52:14.332951: Server sends the final payload (main request response) to the client. Frame 11093 – 18:52:14.333093: captures the client acknowledging the final server response, which marks the successful completion of the main request. Frame 11146 – 18:52:15.348433: [IMPORTANT] the client attempts to send another new request just one second later, which is extremely close to the keep-alive timeout of 1 second. The last message from the server was at 18:52:14.332951, meaning the connection’s keep-alive timeout is predicted to end around 18:52:15.332951 but it does not. The new request is sent at 18:52:15.348433, just microseconds after the predicted timeout. The request leaves before the client browser knows the connection is closed, but by the time it arrives at the server, the connection is already dead. Frame 11147 – 18:52:15.356910: Shows the server finally sending the FIN,ACK to indicate the connection is closed. This happens slightly later than the predicted time, at microsecond 356910 compared to the expected 332951. The FIN,ACK corresponds to sequence 1193 from the ACK of the last data packet in frame 11093. Conclusions: The root cause is related to network handling issues, when the server runs in a setting of keep-alive behavior and keep-alive timeout (in this case 1s) and network timming issue with Safari reusing a closed connection without retrying. In this situation the browser should retry the request, which is what other browsers do and what Safari did before version 18, since it did not suffer from this issue. This behaviour must differ from previous Safari versions (however i read all the public change logs and could not related the regression change). Also is more pronounced with HTTP/1.1 connections due to how the keep-alive is handled. When the server is configured with a short keep-alive timeout of 1 second, and requests are sent at roughly one-second intervals, such as API pings at fixed intervals or user actions like incrementing a cart quantity that trigger backend calls where the probability of failure is high. This effect is even more apparent when the request uses a preflight with POST because it doubles the chance, although GET requests are also affected. This was a just a test case, but in real production our monitoring tools started to detect a big increment with this network error at scale, many requests per day... which is very disrupting, because user actions are randomly being dropped when the user actions and timming happens to be just near a previous connection, where keep alive timeout kicks-in, but because the browser is not yet notified it re-uses the same connection, but by the time it arrived the server is a dead connection. The safari just does nothing about it, does not even retry, be it a pre-flight or not, it just gives this error. Other browsers don't have this issue. Thanks!

Virtual Machine UDID Changes in macOS 15: Looking for Guidance on Development Workflow
Hello, We're developing endpoint security software using the Endpoint Security framework, and we've encountered challenges with the behavior change in macOS 15 regarding provisioning UDIDs in cloned VMs. The Change Prior to macOS 15, cloning a VM preserved its UDID (format: 0000FE00-9C4ED9F68BBDC72D). Starting with macOS 15, cloned VMs receive a new UDID generated from the host's Secure Enclave (format: b043d27202c7ac37ca3c6b82673302225485cae9), making each clone effectively a new device. Our Workflow We maintain a clean base VM image and clone it for each test run. We add the base VM's UDID to our provisioning profile once, then create clones which (previously) retained that same UDID, allowing us to start new testing cycles without re-registering devices. This is essential because our product involves low-level system integration through the Endpoint Security framework, and if something goes wrong during development, it has the potential to affect system stability. To prevent any cascading issues between test runs or different product versions, we need each test to start from a known clean state rather than reusing the same VM. The Challenge With each VM clone generating a new UDID, we're hitting Apple's device registration limits quickly. This particularly impacts: New team members who spin up VMs for the first time and can't run signed builds Our CI/CD pipeline where multiple test environments need provisioning profiles Developers testing different branches who need separate clean environments Current Workaround We've found that VMs created on macOS 14 and upgraded to macOS 15+ retain their original UDID format. However, we're concerned this workaround may stop working in future macOS versions, which would leave us without a viable path forward. If the workaround stops working, our fallback would be signing each CI build with a Developer ID signature to allow running on any device. However, we'd prefer to avoid this as it would significantly increase load on Apple's signing infrastructure for what are essentially internal test builds. We completely understand the security reasoning behind tying UDIDs to the host's Secure Enclave for Apple Account support. However, for development workflows that don't require Apple Account features in VMs but do require clean, isolated test environments, the previous behavior was quite valuable. Question Is there a recommended approach for teams in our situation? We're happy to explore alternative workflows if there's a pattern we're missing, or we'd be glad to provide more context if this is a use case Apple is considering for future updates. Thanks for any guidance you can provide! Feedback case: FB21389730

All notarization submissions stuck "In Progress" for 24+ hours — first-time Electron app
I'm submitting my first macOS app (an Electron app, signed with Developer ID Application certificate and hardened runtime) for notarization using xcrun notarytool submit with App Store Connect API key authentication. All 6 of my submissions have been stuck at "In Progress" for over 24 hours now. The oldest submission is 27+ hours old. None have transitioned to Accepted or Invalid. Here's what I've verified: Code signing is valid: codesign --verify --deep --strict passes Hardened runtime is enabled Uploads succeed: Each submission receives a valid submission ID and the file uploads successfully to Apple's servers API key auth is working: Using App Store Connect API key (.p8 file), Key ID, and Issuer ID Tried both locally and via GitHub Actions CI — same result Polling Apple's status endpoint eventually times out with NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1001 "The request timed out" when checking https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/notary/v2/submissions/<id> Logs are not available (notarytool log returns "not yet available" for all submissions) Apple Developer System Status shows "Developer ID Notary Service" as Available Submission history: createdDate: 2026-02-04T20:27:16Z — status: In Progress createdDate: 2026-02-04T16:45:18Z — status: In Progress createdDate: 2026-02-04T13:40:23Z — status: In Progress createdDate: 2026-02-04T12:29:52Z — status: In Progress createdDate: 2026-02-04T11:26:36Z — status: In Progress createdDate: 2026-02-04T11:21:39Z — status: In Progress Entitlements used: com.apple.security.cs.allow-jit com.apple.security.cs.allow-unsigned-executable-memory com.apple.security.cs.disable-library-validation com.apple.security.network.client com.apple.security.files.user-selected.read-write This is my first time notarizing any app on this developer account. I've seen other threads mentioning that first-time submissions can be "held for in-depth analysis," but 24+ hours with no feedback at all seems excessive. Is anyone else currently experiencing this? Is there anything I can do to unblock my account's notarization queue, or do I just need to wait? Any guidance from DTS would be greatly appreciated. I've also emailed Apple Developer Support but haven't received a response yet.

Xcode 26: `IDERunDestination: Supported platforms for the buildables in the current scheme is empty` repeatedly logged when running tests from `.xctestrun` file
We are seeing repeated occurrences of the following log line in test runs triggered via .xctestrun files on iOS 26: IDERunDestination: Supported platforms for the buildables in the current scheme is empty. This line is printed n number of times after a test fails, significantly increasing test execution duration (2–3 minutes extra in some cases). The issue does not occur when tests are built and run together from Xcode directly — it’s specific to .xctestrun-based executions using xcodebuild test-without-building. Steps to Reproduce: Use Xcode 26 to build a sample XCTest target (we used a simple UI test project). Locate the generated .xctestrun file under DerivedData/.../Build/Products/.... Run tests using: xcodebuild -xctestrun /path/to/sample.xctestrun \ -destination "id=<device_id>" \ test-without-building Observe the logs during test failure. Observed Behavior: The log line IDERunDestination: Supported platforms for the buildables in the current scheme is empty appears multiple times. The test cleanup and teardown phase takes significantly longer (2–3 minutes). Expected Behavior: The log should appear once or not at all. Test cleanup time should remain consistent. Additional Information: Affects only iOS 26 devices and .xctestrun-based runs. Not reproducible on iOS < 26. Xcode 26 and 26.x beta versions tried. Reproducible both locally and on CI systems using real devices. Same .xctestrun file, when used on older OS versions, does not cause delay.

Apple Developer Enrollment Pending
I enrolled in the Apple Developer Program on February 3, 2026. The payment was completed successfully at the time of enrollment, but my membership status has remained “Pending” since then. So far: No request for additional documents or identity verification No phone call from Apple No follow-up email other than the payment confirmation Apple Developer Support has been contacted, but no response yet I understand that verification can take some time, but the complete lack of communication is concerning, especially since this is blocking active development and release planning. If this is a known backlog or system-wide delay, some transparency from Apple would help. I’d also appreciate hearing whether others who enrolled in early February are seeing the same prolonged “Pending” state. Thanks in advance to anyone who can share recent experiences or escalation paths.

Developer app on the Mac doesn't play videos in full screen
Hi, Problem When playing videos on the Developer app on the Mac, there is no full screen button for the video. So it is not possible to play the video in full screen. Note I am not referring to the app going into full screen, the issue is with there is no option to play the video in full screen. Environment OS: macOS 26.2 (25C56) Developer app: Version 10.8.3 (1083.3.1) Feedback FB21343934 Recording Question Are others also facing this issue? Is there a workaround? Suggestion This seems to be recurring problem that seems get broken with app / OS releases. Please write some UI tests to ensure the full screen button is present. Would really appreciate if this gets fixed.

iOS 26 & Xcode 26 - bug with keyboard by WebView
Environment iOS 26 (23A343) Xcode 26 Reproduces on device and Simulator Description When presenting a SwiftUI WebView (native iOS 26 component) or a WKWebView/UIWebView via UIViewRepresentable, focusing a text field inside the web view and then dismissing it breaks the keyboard layout behavior. After returning to the main app, tapping any TextField causes the keyboard to cover bottom controls (e.g. buttons). Expected safe area insets are not applied. The issue is only resolved after closing and reopening the keyboard once. Steps to Reproduce Open a SwiftUI screen with WebView (via .sheet or NavigationLink). Inside the web view, tap a text field to show the keyboard. Dismiss the web view. Tap a TextField in the main app. Expected Result Layout should adjust correctly. Bottom controls stay visible above the keyboard. Actual Result Keyboard covers bottom controls. Insets are ignored until the keyboard is dismissed and reopened. Notes Reproduces with: Native SwiftUI WebView (iOS 26) WKWebView and UIWebView via UIViewRepresentable Presentation style (.sheet or navigation push) does not matter. Example video: https://youtu.be/Epgoz1vETKU FB: FB20386257 Sample Code import SwiftUI import WebKit struct ContentView: View { @State var url: URL? @FocusState private var isFocused: Bool var body: some View { VStack { TextField("TextField", text: .constant("")) .focused($isFocused) Button("HIDE KEYBOARD") { isFocused = false } Spacer() Button("ACTION") { url = URL(string: "https://google.com") } } .sheet(item: $url) { value in NavigationStack { WebView(url: value) .toolbar { ToolbarItem(placement: .topBarLeading) { Button("CLOSE") { url = nil } } } } } } } extension URL: Identifiable { public var id: String { absoluteString } }

iOS 26.2 (23C55): DeviceActivity eventDidReachThreshold fires with 0 Screen Time minutes
On iOS 26.2 (23C55), DeviceActivityMonitor.eventDidReachThreshold fires intermittently for a daily schedule (00:00–23:59) even when iOS Screen Time shows 0 minutes for the selected apps that day. This causes premature shielding via ManagedSettings. Environment: iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 26.2 (23C55). Event selection: 2 apps. Threshold: 30 minutes. Multiple TestFlight users report the same behavior across various app selections and thresholds. Intermittent (~50% of days); sometimes multiple days in a row. Not observed in testing prior to iOS 26.2. Evidence: sysdiagnose + Screen Time screenshots (with 0 screen time on selected apps) + unified logs show UsageTrackingAgent notifying the extension that “unproductive from activity daily reached its threshold,” followed immediately by ManagedSettings shield being applied (extension reacting to the callback). Filed Feedback Assistant: FB21450954. Questions: Are others seeing this on 26.2? Does it correlate with restarting monitoring at interval boundaries or includesPastActivity settings?

“Keep Going with Apps” Tutorial section will not complete.
Hello All, I am currently working through ”Keep going with Apps” in Swift Playground. The section in the tutorial “Add a DancingCreature view” will not complete.
