Hi,
I’m trying to get an array of strings from the user using AppIntents, but I’m encountering an issue. The shortcut ends without prompting the user for input or saving the value, though it doesn’t crash. I need to get the user to input multiple tasks in an array, but the current approach isn’t working as expected.
Here’s the current method I’m using:
// Short code snippet showing the current method
private func collectTasks() async throws -> [String] {
var collectedTasks: [String] = tasks ?? []
while true {
if !collectedTasks.isEmpty {
let addMore = try await $input.requestConfirmation("Would you like to add another task?")
if !addMore {
break
}
}
let newTask = try await $input.requestValue("Please enter a task:")
collectedTasks.append(newTask)
}
return collectedTasks
}
The Call
func perform() async throws -> some IntentResult {
let finalTasks = try await collectTasks()
// Some more Code
}
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

How to access comments and their associated text in iWork documents via AppleScript/ScriptingBridge?
Hi all,
I’m developing a Mac OS application with XCode that interacts with iWork documents (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) using ScriptingBridge (and maybe AppleScript). Right now I started with Pages, assuming if it works for Pages, it will likely be similar for Numbers and Keynote.
While I can successfully access and modify the main body text (e.g. the “body text” property in a Pages document), I’m having major difficulties accessing the comments (or annotations) within these documents.
There are many aspects, but right now what I’m trying to achieve:
For a Pages document, I need to scan the document and extract, for each comment:
The content of the comment (i.e. the comment’s text).
The text that is being commented on.
For Numbers, similarly, I need to retrieve the commented cell’s content and the associated comment.
For Keynote, the same as Pages, except I manage to get the Presenter Notes.
Once done, I could replace the content accordingly.
What I’ve tried:
Using AppleScript commands such as:
every comment of document "Test"
Accessing properties like content or range of a comment.
Attempting various syntaxes (including using class specifiers) to force AppleScript to recognize comments.
Using ScriptingBridge in my Swift code, but I couldn’t find any mapping for a “comment” object in the Pages dictionary.
However, all these attempts result in errors such as “cannot convert …” or “this class is not key value coding-compliant for the key …” which leads me to believe that the iWork scripting dictionaries may not expose comments (or annotations) in a scriptable way.
Questions:
Is there a supported way to access the comments (and the associated commented text) in an iWork document via AppleScript or ScriptingBridge?
If so, what is the proper syntax or property name to use? (For example, should I be looking for a class named “comment”, “annotation”, or perhaps something else?)
If direct access via AppleScript/ScriptingBridge is not possible, what alternative approaches would you recommend for programmatically extracting comment data from iWork documents?
I apologize if my post isn't clear, it is translated from French. Any insights or examples would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I have been working on adding a badge number count to my app, but have run into a really weird edge case. If I have a badge number on my app, delete the application and then re-install it, the badge number still persists on the app icon until I first open the app. I tried looking to see if there is a lifecycle method that is triggered upon uninstalling an app as well as if there is a specific userDefaults attribute to check in order to clear the badge, but I can't find any clear solutions. Does anyone know of a fix to this issue?
I keep seeing a red action item to complete a task in settings. IOS beta keeps indicating that I need to enable sensor & usage data. Everything is enabled. I literally enabled everything to get it to go away, but it is still there. Suggestions?
I'm facing an issue with Live Activity on the Apple Watch. I followed all the configurations outlined in Apple's official documentation, but during testing, I noticed inconsistent behavior. Some devices can display the Live Activity on the Apple Watch without any issues, while others can only see it on the iPhone, even though they are running the same system version. I've already checked the permissions, and everything is set up correctly, but I still haven't found what might be causing this difference. Has anyone experienced something similar or has any debugging suggestions?
I am currently facing an issue when trying to enable Shortcut support and would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving it.
I have successfully enabled Shortcut support, and I can find my app and its respective functionalities within the Shortcuts app. However, I am unable to locate my app when attempting to create an automation within Shortcuts. I would appreciate any guidance or solutions you may offer regarding this matter.
I am testing the subscription flow in my iOS app. Initially, everything was working fine when following the official StoreKit and sandbox testing documentation. After a successful subscription, the “You’re all set” popup always displayed the environment as “sandbox.” However, after some changes, possibly upgrading macOS to the latest version, upgrading Xcode, or regenerating certificates, I can no longer connect to the sandbox testing environment. The subscription success popup now always shows the environment as “xcode.”
By default, the iOS app should run in the sandbox on macOS, so I didn’t set the “Enable App Sandbox” option to “Yes” in the Xcode build settings. When I try enabling it, Xcode throws the following error:
“Failed to verify code signature of /var/installd/Library/Caches/com.apple.mobile.installd.staging/temp.n3J0tr/extracted/Payload/XXXX.app : 0xe8008015 (A valid provisioning profile for this executable was not found.) Please ensure that your app is signed by a valid provisioning profile.”
Additionally, if “Enable App Sandbox” is set to “No,” the app installs successfully on a real device, but there is no prompt to trust an untrusted developer certificate, which usually appears for such certificates.
I’m not sure if this information will be useful to others, but I’ve been stuck on this issue for a while, and it’s preventing me from moving forward with my work. Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I've been experimenting with the new low-level Swift API for XPC (XPCSession and XPCListener). The ability to send and receive Codable messages is an appealing alternative to making an @objc protocol in order to use NSXPCConnection from Swift — I can easily create an enum type whose cases map onto the protocol's methods.
But our current XPC code validates the incoming connection using techniques similar to those described in Quinn's "Apple Recommended" response to the "Validating Signature Of XPC Process" thread. I haven't been able to determine how to do this with XPCListener; neither the documentation nor the Swift interface have yielded any insight.
The Creating XPC Services article suggests using Xcode's XPC Service template, which contains this code:
let listener = try XPCListener(service: serviceName) { request in
request.accept { message in
performCalculation(with: message)
}
}
The apparent intent is to inspect the incoming request and decide whether to accept it or reject it, but there aren't any properties on IncomingSessionRequest that would allow the service to make that decision. Ideally, there would be a way to evaluate a code signing requirement, or at least obtain the audit token of the requesting process.
(I did notice that a function xpc_listener_set_peer_code_signing_requirement was added in macOS 14.4, but it takes an xpc_listener_t argument and I can't tell whether XPCListener is bridged to that type.)
Am I missing something obvious, or is there a gap in the functionality of XPCListener and IncomingSessionRequest?
I am working on Flutter MAC app. And using ObjectBox store DB for local data saving.
When i am setting Sandbox - NO, It is working fine.
But when i am setting Sandbox - YES for production MAC flutter app - It is giving error and getting black screen only
Getting error-
Error initializing ObjectBox store: StorageException: failed to create store: Could not open database environment; please check options and file system (1: Operation not permitted) (OBX_ERROR code 10199)
Based on threads from past years, it is mentioned that a NEFilterDataProvider supports IPPROTO_TCP, IPPROTO_UDP, IPPROTO_ICMP and IPPROTO_IGMP.
[Q] What about IPPROTO_RAW? Is this something that would have been added recently?
I'm trying to implement live caller id PIR server in python and I have an issue related to evaluation key config. I don't receive the POST /key request even if I try to install the extension on new device and I had this error in device system logs:
error 11:21:30.663022+0200 ciphermld requestData(byKeywords:shardIds:clientConfig:) threw an error: CipherML.CipherMLError.missingSecre t Ke y
I think the reason why the evaluation key is not generated is related to this error but I'm not sure. It might be also related to HE params - I tried with the same params as in swift server example with plaintext_modulus=17 and it works, but for plaintext_modulus=65537 on the same device the system doesn't send me the evaluation key. Is there a limitation that restricts the evaluation key generation for some HE params?
There is how the entire config object that I retrieve looks like:

Hi! I use Tips with CloudKit and it works very well, however when a user want to remove their data from CloudKit, how to do that?
In CoreData with CloudKit area, NSPersistentCloudKitContainer have purgeObjectsAndRecordsInZone to delete both local managed objects and CloudKit records, however there is no information about the TipKit deletion.
Does anyone know ideas?
I'm using Swift 6 and tasks to concurrently process multiple PDF files for rendering, and it's working well.
But currently I'm manually limiting the number of simultaneous tasks to 2 out of fear that the system might run many tasks concurrently without having enough RAM to do the PDF processing.
Testing on a variety of devices, I've tried increasing the task limit and haven't seen any crashes, but I'm quite concerned about the possibility. Any given device might be using a lot of RAM at any moment, and any given PDF might strain resources more than the average PDF.
Is there a recommended technique for handling this kind of scenario?
Should I not worry about it and just go ahead and start a high number of tasks, trusting that the system won't run too many concurrently and therefore won't run out of RAM?

My app monitors users heart beats and if critical reading is noticed, it auto -dials 911 for emergency and ambulance help.
I was under the impression that auto-dial may not be permitted or possible on the platform.
Can anyone confirm and provide any additional guidance on if it is possible in the newer SDK/API stack or using any 3rd party service ?
Thank you in advance!!

I got a notification that the Certification Authority (CA) for Apple Push Notification service (APNs) is changing. Does this affect the push service for Apple Wallet passes or just for apps? I have a push service for Apple Wallet passes but no service for apps. I don't use push notification service for anything other than for Apple Wallet Pass push notifications, not at all for apps. Is there anything I need to do or is this not relevant to my situation?
If it does, what do I need to change in order to make sure my service still works? Do I just replace the certificate? Is there a standard path where it would live on the server?
I'm sure this is a simple thing, but it's been over a decade since I wrote the push service so I'm pretty rusty.
So i am pretty new to Xcode, but i have been using Python and other language for some while. But I am quite new to the game of view and view control. So it may be that i have over complicated this a bit - and it may be that I have some wrong understanding of the dependencies and appcontroller (that i thought would be a good idea). So here we have a main file we call it app.swift, we have a startupmanager.swift, a appcoordinator and a dependeciescontainer. But it may be that this is either a overkill - or that I am doing it wrong.
So my thought was that i had a dependeciecontainer, a appcoordinator for the views and a startupmanager that controll the initialized fetching. I have controlled the memory when i run it - checking if it is higher, lower eg - but it was first when i did my 2 days profile i saw a lot of new errors, like this: Fikser(7291,0x204e516c0) malloc: xzm: failed to initialize deferred reclamation buffer (46). and i also get macro errors, probably from the @Query in my feedview.
So my thought was that a depencecie manager and a startupmanager was a good idea together with a app coordinator.
But maybe I am wrong - maybe this is not a good idea? Or maybe I am doing some things twice? I have added a lot of prints and debugs for checking. But it seems that it starts off to heavy?

on a span of 4 months we sent 2 for nfc entitlement requests and refused , no reason nothing . i mean all we want is the ability to use nfc on passes nothing else , no idea why this is so complex . with google you don’t even need a developer account and it’s for free , here we pay and we can’t even get the full functionality the passes offer , we got the hardware and the solution but we find out we need an nfc entitlement to allow passes to have nfc ? i mean our use case is very simple instead of having barcode on the passes we want them to be via nfc and we already got the nfc hardware but we find out we need nfc entitlement which we tried requesting but getting refused with no reason at all. at least tell u what is the problem what how to fix it not outright refuse without any reason at all. if anyone got any solution please provide.
