Hi,
Ever since I updated to macOS Tahoe and started using Xcode 26 daily, I've run into an issue where it gets stuck very frequently when launching and running my app in the simulator. It happens with the main app target as well as when running unit tests. If I restart Xcode and the simulator app, it works fine again for a while, but after some use, it goes back to the same situation. In Activity Monitor, Xcode ends up at 1000% CPU utilization for a minute or more, basically rendering the simulator and the debugger stuck. If I untick the "Debug Executable" option in the scheme editor, it works fine as well.
Anyone else run into the same situation, or are there any tips I can follow to fix this issue? It makes it really tedious to make changes and then be stalled for a minute or more to see the app run. I've restarted the Mac, erased the booted simulator as well. I'm on a MacBook Pro M4 Pro. Everything used to run fine before macOS Tahoe / Xcode 26 on my main device. In fact, I used to run macOS Tahoe / Xcode 26 beta versions on a separate partition without any problems.

I want to use a ci_script to change the CI_BUILD_NUMBER to a new value.
But in XCODE CLOUD there seems to be no programmatic way to change it?
We are encountering build failures during the following stages on Xcode Cloud:
• Export archive for ad-hoc distribution -> fail
• Export archive for development distribution -> fail
• Export archive for app-store distribution -> fail

The build process was functioning correctly until this morning with same branch. We also have verified that our certificates are valid and successfully uploaded to TestFlight using these certificates on the local Xcode environment.
This appears to be an issue on the Xcode Cloud side as no significant configuration changes were made on our end.

Hello,
I'm unable to run any test cases in Xcode 16 with the iOS 18 simulator.
Steps to Reproduce:
Create a new iOS project in Xcode 16 using the default iOS app template with the testing option checked.
Run any test or UI test case by clicking the "Play" icon in the Test navigator.
Xcode gets stuck at the "Testing" state indefinitely.
Environment:
macOS 15 beta 8
Xcode 16 beta 6
iOS 18 beta 7 simulator
We have a simple workflow that just runs the Test action on my unit_tests scheme (see Xcode Cloud workflow configuration screenshot). The workflow is configured to use Xcode 16.4 (Latest Release), macOS Sequoia 15.6 (Latest Release), and iOS 18.0 simulators.
Today, this workflow has been consistently running indefinitely. The Xcode cloud runner tries to launch the simulator to execute the tests, but it fails. See the error message in the screenshot from Xcode Cloud logs. Link to corresponding build is in my Feedback Assistant ticket.
It continues to retry this operation for a very long time — I had one job that ran for over 90 minutes. Link to corresponding build also in that same Feedback Assistant ticket.
Are Xcode Cloud runners perhaps currently undergoing maintenance? Or is something else going on. I would appreciate if Xcode Cloud usage from today could be refunded to my team’s account.
Feedback Assistant ticket #FB20195292.
Error message:
MyApp encountered an error (Failed to prepare device 'iPhone 16' for impending launch. (Underlying Error: Unable to boot the Simulator. launchd failed to respond. (Underlying Error: Failed to start launchd_sim: could not bind to session, launchd_sim may have crashed or quit responding)))
Will RC be allowed to upload to App Store Connect?
I have tried a couple of times with 17A321 and I keep getting unsupported SDK or Xcode version.

Hi there,
I uploaded an update bundle for the posted app, but I got a rejection message.
ITMS-90048: This bundle is invalid - Your archive contains paths that are not allowed: [._Symbols]
The XCode version I'm using is 16.2, and I've been trying to find a route using Run Script and Finder, but I don't know what the hell it is about.
Does anybody know what could cause this issue?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
My membership expires in 10 days and I'm trying to find out how I can renew it.According to Applet:"You can renew starting 30 days before the expiration date of your existing membership or any time after it expires. Your expiration date is available in your account on the developer website. To renew, sign in to your account with the Apple ID you used to enroll, and click the "Renew Now” button. If your membership is still active when you renew, your new membership will activate as soon as your current membership expires and you will receive two (2) new TSIs."So, I sign in to my account with the Apple ID I used to enroll and I can't see the "Reset Now" button anywyere. All I can see is the "Overview", "Membership", "Certificates, IDs & Profiles", "iTunes Connect", "CloudKit Dashboard" and "Code-Level Support" under the "Programs Resources" section, on the left, and the "Documentation", "Forums", "Bug Reporter" and "News & Updates" under the "Additional Resources" section, again on the left.I went to each and every of these and there is no "Renew Now" button anywhere.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
When creating an icon using icon composer, I cant upload a build to testflight/App Store connect.
Running on device from Xcode works fine, but as soon as I archive and upload to App Store Connect, I get an error saying the icon contains an alpha channel
Hello,
I uploaded a new build to TestFlight, and it has been about an hour since the processing was completed.
However, the update is still not showing up in the TestFlight app.
From my experience, the update usually appears within 10 to 30 minutes, but this time it is taking unusually long.
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue and found a solution.
Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hello,
Has anyone used Sentry with Xcode Cloud? How are you uploading dSYM files? One way is fastlane but Xcode Cloud doesn't come with Fastlane preinstalled, the other is sentry-cli but the same issue, it's not preinstalled.
Since a few days, I'm trying to fetch our private SPM repo hosted on Azure via Xcode but without success. Actually they now accept only ssh key RSA-SHA2-256 or RSA-SHA2-512.
So I created a new SSH key, but it seems the problem persists when I try to fetch spm repo or git clone via xcode:
"You’re using ssh-rsa that is about to be deprecated and your request has been blocked intentionally. Any SSH session using SSH-RSA is subject to brown out (failure during random time periods). Please use rsa-sha2-256 or rsa-sha2-512 instead. For more details see aka.ms/ado-ssh-rsa-deprecation. remote: ERROR_SSH_UNSUPPORTED_CIPHER (7) (-20)"
Even so I'm choosing the good new ssh key, it seems Xcode is sending wrong information about the new generated ssh key.
Anyone is experiencing the same here?
We started seeing an access issue today when attempting to go to the Xcode Cloud tab in App Store Connect. When you navigate to https://appstoreconnect.apple.com/teams/:teamId/apps/:appId/ci we're seeing the following message:
The page you’re looking for can’t be found.
The page you’re looking for does not exist, or you do not have permission to view it.
I am the account holder so it shouldn't be a permissions issue. Is there an ongoing outage or problem in Xcode Cloud? And, if so, where can I monitor this accurately?
We have an existing app in which we have implemented AppShortcuts. The snippet view works fine in iOS 17 while in iOS18 beta, it doesn't able to fetch color from xcassets. If we use system colours or UIColor it's working fine.
Not working
Color("progressColor")
Working
Color(uiColor: UIColor(named: "progressColor")!)
Color.red
Color(hex: "3881d3") // Note: We created Color extension to generate color from hex string.
The Files app in the iOS 18 beta simulator appears to be read-only. I am unable to:
create folders
copy files into it by dragging them from macOS
safe files from safari
I have been unsuccessful at finding a way to popular any file or folder in the Files app which is preventing me from testing some scenarios in my app where I import files using the files sheet.
The earliest I tried was beta 3 and it still persists in beta 7. The iOS 17 simulator works fine in comparison.
My mac is a 2019 macbook pro running Sonoma 14.5.
To reproduce:
New folder
Launch Files app in iOS simulator
Tap into "On my phone"
From the top menu tap "New Folder"
(nothing happens)
Download a file
Launch safari
Find a file like a PDF to download
Tap on the down arrow in the toolbar
Files opens up with the filename in the textfield at the bottom
The "Save" button is grayed out.
Copy from macOS
Open the Files app in iOS and browse to a local folder
drag a file from the macbook onto the simulator
the sheet appears with the filename in the text field
The "Save" button is grayed out
Hello,
I am currently working on personal project based on Matter.
I need to create a Basic Video Player as specified in Matter's standard embedding the Media Playback Cluster.
I went through the reading of how Apple now supports Matter as a standard :
linkText
My understanding of the following schematic, is alongside :
HomeKit Accessory Protocol (HAP) Framework API
Related HAP accessories underneath the homeKit framework.
Developpers also find under the Homekit framework :
CHIP (Connected Home IP) Framework API
Related Matter accessories this time
Both types of accessories/devices can be commissioned in the HomeKit ecosystem seemlessly.
Each framework has it's documentation :
HAP : https://developer.apple.com/documentation/homekit/hmhomemanager
CHIP : https://developer.apple.com/documentation/matter
I want through the process of installing XCode and the HomeKit Accessory Simulator. In the list of HomeKit Accessories I did not see any Media related devices :
The list of currently supported devices is limited as I read here and will be enriched with time :
https://support.apple.com/en-us/102135#:~:text=The%20Home%20app%20currently%20supports,%2C%20temperature%2C%20and%20humidity).
In the meantime, as I read the matter documentation, I read several references made to the Media Playback :
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/matter/mtrclustermediaplayback
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/matter/mtrbaseclustermediaplayback
https://developer.apple.com/documentation/matter/clusters#Interacting-with-the-Media-Playback-cluster
My questions are :
Are Matter Basic Video Players, (Media Playback) supported in HomeKit ?
Why aren't they listed in HomeKit Accessory Simulator ?
How can I add a Basic Video Player in HomeKit and display it's Media Playback controls once I have added the device to HomeKit ?
Thank you for your Answer.
Regards
David
I'm facing an issue with Swift Playgrounds and files created in Xcode 16. It seems that Swift Playgrounds does not support Swift 6, but even when I create files specifically with Swift 5, Swift Playgrounds still reports that the files are unsupported.
This creates a significant problem because macOS Sequoia does not allow me to revert to Xcode 15, which might have offered better compatibility. As it stands, I can't find a solution to work seamlessly between Xcode and Swift Playgrounds.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Are there any workarounds or updates planned to address this compatibility gap? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Our UITests are failing because Simulator won't start up. What can I do here?
Workflow Settings:
Sequoia 15.1
Xcode 16.1
Testing on iPad and iPhone 17.5 simulators
Thank you in advance
